    Hi Ray
    awesome subjects!
    abandoned cabins!
this is a place that i'd love to check out for myself some day.

great to see the backdrop of the mountains too.
I see a small fence, can you go past it and get inside the cabins?

    very cool post

    Hi Gert
you know my love for the abandoned, the grit and the grime...so thats why that red Cart is the star of the show.

you're star of the show is the boy right! haha
    of course!

too bad the people in the bg aren't off to the side a bit as they distract the sight lines a bit when we examine the boy sitting there. but thats just nitpicking.

in this little photo package there are many interesting elements to be viewed and appreciated.
not to mention its making me a bit thirsty :)

another 10 out of 10 for quality from a scan!!

and i know what you mean about the photo being a bit dark on your computer...for me, the colors often are different when i upload the photo on TE. The colors are often MUCH MUCH duller and not as vibrant as the ones on my personal computer.

But your shot here looks fine, not too dark at all.
    fine post
    cheers

    Hi Daniel
how could anyone NOT enjoy this shot.
seems like you had yourself some fine fine light and weather during your time here.
How many days did you spend in Porto, and how many in Lisbon...just curious.

lovely view point, lovely colors, and i especially like the two different tones of blue from the top to the bottom.

    excellent shot

    Hi Carlo
    haha...great looking shot.
its easy to see why alot of other TE members have been enjoying this one too.

soft water reflections which go from being a bit over exposed at the top to being a bit dim near the bottom and perfect in the middle :)

the two birds are a good focal point, it all works well together. good eye

    Hi Erling
yes, i remember seeing this one on FB as well.
good eye to capture this one, most people just walk right on by and don't notice the potential.

and the dim lighting actually works well, no overexposed portions to be seen that way.

    sweet shot.
    see you around

    Hi Jose
I'm not sure how I missed this one your gallery!
I wonder if Daniel has posted a photo from this same position? He's been posting many photos from Porto lately.

and of course the church or Cathedral has to be the tallest structure of the city :)

really glad you included the blue colors of that building on the right, its a sweet introduction to the overall scene.

lovely exposure and light, its a beauty of a view too.

    Hi Rosemary
now this is a strange subject.
so let me get this straight...its basically just a lookout point? A place you can get inside and gain a bit of height and look out onto the landscape?

    very strange indeed.
and for obvious reasons it seems to be SO out of place with the natural landscape surrounding it - but i guess thats also the point isn't it.

    certainly caught my attention.
excellent photo for its subject, its uniqueness and the overall clarity and exposure too.

    Howdy Pedro,

Beautiful classical touring car, expensive and in excellent condition, perhaps from the 1920s ?
Enhanced by the wedding decorations in the plaza. And a chuckle from the "Mafia" license plate.

I went on my first honeymoon in a 1967 VW Beetle, this vehicle would have been more impressive.

    Thanks for sharing,

Good representation of the lonely vast spaces of northern Arizona, with the deserted highway leading into the arid landscape, with shadow enhanced mountains in the distance. And somewhere the huge, sunken, Grand Canyon is hiding.

Hope you enjoy your adventures in the American Southwest,

Attractive large number of classical row boats, slender and pointed bows, anchored on the Ganga. The uniform appearance creates a pattern, and the faithful washing along the steps is a bonus.

    Howdy Ourania,

Interesting classical Leros architecture, with the narrow street, steep steps, crowded walls, balcony, then a glimpse in the distance on the high mountain, a glimpse of the historical castle.
Would be fun to stroll the streets and soak in the history.

    Thanks for sharing,
    Cheers,
    Ray

PS: I get excited for photographic opportunities when the climate changes. Being in a snow storm is not my favorite, but the landscape afterwards is rewarding.

    Hello Betty,

I almost broke into song, reading your notes.
This is a beautifully composed shot, a painter's dream, as the horizontal layers filter back into the frame, culminating in that spectacular sky.
The f/g branches help to create the deep sense of depth.
There is noise in the shot but, for me, it adds to the mood.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Constantino,

I am amazed by your notes!
I perceived the old lady to be hanging onto the windowsill to steady herself on the steep hill!
Not only does she not have to hang on, she is sprightly enough to paint the steep street!
A delightful capture, very well composed and with fine textural details.

    Hello Asa,

The monks have certainly done a very good job for the graveyard looks neat and well cared for.
You have provided some excellent f/g details, nicely angled across the frame, whilst in the distance, the façade of the catacombs looks very interesting.

Did you venture into the catacombs?
They must have great historical significance.

    Hola Angel,

This reminds me so much of a photograph that I took in Bonn, where the road is accessed through the buildings. I wonder if it is a German characteristic!
Whatever, it works very well, both as an access and as a photographic opportunity. The buildings are quite delightful with their half-timbered frames and interesting colours, whilst the clock tower dominates with its height and clear architectural details.
I do like how the archway seems to offer just a little more information, after you have absorbed all the information in the f/g.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
