    Bonjour Philippe.

It looks as if there is some reconstruction work happening on the chateau, so it was probably a good idea to step back from the building and give a lot of importance to these splendid trees, using their line of perspective and their huge shadows, as a good lead line.
I do like such contrasts of sunlight and shadows, in this case, they give depth and warmth.

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

Two excellent pictures with the guitar if real eye catcher on this nice picture.
Also the building in background makes your picture attractive.

    Hello Jorge,

It is extremely difficult to get good photographs of dimly lit interiors without the use of a tripod but you have done an very good job, here. There are some lovely details of the religious artefacts, especially their textures.
    Did you count the doors?
Maybe, just to find the way out!

    Have a lovely day,

    Ciao Caro Silvio,

This is a splendid fountain, covering the whole facade of this ancient, clock-faced building. Not only is it a fountain but I can see a figure using one of the two water spouts.
The f/g coloured mosaic looks very interesting but certainly not old, like the surrounding area! Does it have some special significance? It makes a very colourful modern feature to contrast with its setting.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Sergio,

    I like this!
You have done a great job of setting the scene with the similarly coloured and textured bridge and building but then, the attention goes to the sky! The clouds appear to be radiating from the Houses of Parliament like spells from Harry Potter's wand!
    Well observed and photographed.

    Bonjour Christiane,

Some people spend their time visiting cities to spot the Hard Rock cafes!

This is a really strong composition. The symbolic guitar both challenges and befriends the modern skyscraper. The challenge is to out class it, the befriending is to use it as a supporting b/g. And it works!
    Excellent clarity and colour saturation.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Peter,

You mention lots of tourists but your photograph suggests anything but that!
The scene is tranquil, reflective and has the warm romance of a glowing sunset.
I like your composition of the temple silhouetted against the amber sky, with the white-topped waves, gently lapping around its base.

This is quite a change from desolated castles in the wilds of Scotland!
This is a scene full of light, colour and human interaction.

    Ciao Caro Carlo,

    I miei calorosi saluti,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

Having the ability to look down on scenes can give a whole new impression. We can see how the beach relates to the village and how it is tied by the promenade right on to the cliffs. It is different from our ground level awareness!
So, you have shown us a clear view, nicely composed, where it is fun to peruse the different areas.
It's a good advert for holidaying in Devon!

    Hello Malgo,

You often seem disappointed by your expectations of Hong Kong but you cannot be disappointed by this! It is a great blue hour shot, very well composed and showing coloured, illuminated buildings right across the screen! The bridge and covered walkway add an unusual and effective separation line.

    Ola Luis,

    What a view!
This looks like the set of a prehistoric movie!
I'm just waiting to see a giant dinosaur cross the screen!
I love the differing horizontal layers, culminating in the smoky-topped volcano!

It must have been an incredible trip.
I imagine that climbing to inspect the top of a live volcano is a thrilling episode and makes you consider the fragility of life!

    Hello Stephen,

I was curious about Isabelline style yesterday and forgot to research it, however I did do today and this is what I learnt.
'The most obvious characteristic of the Isabelline is the predominance of heraldic and epigraphic motifs, especially the symbols of the yoke and arrows and the pomegranate, which refer to the Catholic Monarchs. Also characteristic of this period is ornamentation using beaded motifs of orbs worked in plaster or carved in stone.'

It is amazingly grand and ornate and you have captured that impression clearly. I'm sure you felt quite overwhelmed as you looked upwards and saw all this decoration rising to the heights! Your inclusion of the figures helps us to realise this immense scale!

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

Ha! Ha! Gert, had the boys been more united in their clothing, we would have believed that this was excellent digital manipulation, showing the teenager progressing onto his skateboard. (I would have loved to see you hurtling down the road before them!)
It's a well captured shot and I can see why you wanted to link them with this b/g.
To begin with, I read the top word as stage ... teenagers are often performing!
I agree with you, this is the best of an interesting series of shots.
