    Dear John,

An amazingly bucolic scene with the sheep feasting on the lush green grass. I understand the sheep keep the grass short and close to ground, and that cows cannot graze on it afterwards. That was one of the disagreements of cattle and sheep growers in the old West.

Two weeks ago with guests visiting us from Greece we visited George Washington's birthplace, about 50-60 km from our home. The historic house is maintained as a working farm just as the first President knew it. It is remarkable how the scene in your photograph resembles the farm with its sheep.

Warmest regards, dear John, have a good Sunday,

    Hello Daniel,

The 1 sec shutter speed, coupled with a microscopic f/22 aperture has converted the rushing waters into gaseous fluid, while accentuating overall sharpness. It's an interesting idea. We must have been in the land of Fire and Ice at the same time.

    Warm regards,

    Ciao Luciano,

What a spectacular courtyard in the old palazzo. You have been treating us all to the amazing sites of Havana, and what a pleasure it has been. In this photo the composition is perfect, as are the resolution, colors and textures. The man strolling across the courtyard is wearing a New York Yankees cap, and it might be as old as some of the automobiles of the city.

    Have a good Sunday,

    Witaj Maciej,

Now this is majestic! You had spectacular light, and composed the scene perfectly — The reflections in the pond of just a few of the columns, the brilliant green foliage in the back, the contrast of light and dark — everything collaborating to make this perfect photo of the palace.

Warm regards and have a good Sunday,

    Bonjour Jean Jacques,

The detailed shot of the half-timbered houses displays excellent composition, brilliant colors and textures, and razor sharpness. I was not familiar with Auxerre until I saw this photo, but it is enough to inspire a visit.

    Hello Maria,

This is fabulous! It's an interior I haven't seen in years. and better than I remember. When I was at Oxford, I remember visiting the Roman Baths with friends from the United States. The guide was the Director of the Roman Baths, and just as he was showing us the lead plumbing originally left there by the Romans, he mentioned that it was not known how the water was heated. I noticed there were flies walking around, unable to fly. I took him aside, and mentioned to him that sometimes where there is lead, there is also the possibility of uranium (uranium decays into lead). "This could be a natural nuclear reactor," I said. He turned red, and admitted they did know how the water was heated. There was nuclear radiation, although quite low level.

Wearing my artist's hat, rather than a physicist's, I made a sketch of the square in front of Bath Abbey. If you get a chance, take a look at the third photo down in the left column, Bath Abbey.

Warm regards, Maria, a very beautiful photo. Have a good Sunday,

    Hello Paul,

Indeed, the mission of Trekearth is "...to learn about the world through photography," and you've done a very good job here. I must confess I have not posted photos of interiors of Japanese homes and shops, and I must rectify that omission also. This is a lovely shot, showing a room in the foreground, and allowing a view of the other rooms and a staircase in the background. Of course, the floor covering is comprised of mats with different textures. I remember a Toshiba Receiver I had purchased three decades ago. In the instructions, translated from the Japanese to English, it said clearly, "Take care not to drop on mat."

    Warm regards,

    Bonsoir Christian,

You've chosen the perfect spot to show the narrow entry way into the harbor, with the two massive cylindrical towers serving as the gateway. The light is ideal, allowing you to capture colors in high fidelity, as well as the depth of field allowing the foreground and the background to appear sharp. The clouds highlighting the blue sky provide the drama of "a floating French flag."

    Hello abmdsudi,

This remarkable photo you posted from two weeks ago, it may be a slice of daily life shot, but the unusually good and simple composition, the surpassing brilliance of the colors and sharpness makes it a genuinely eye catching image. I did some minor manipulation on the photo, but could not submit it as a workshop. (I removed the distracting bag in the foreground).

Hello Gert, We are neighbours today. But my photo is of bad quality and this is excellent. I know that Olomouc is interesting, especially famous is the Holy Trinity Column, but I haven't heard about this clock. Good discovery :). I went near Olomouc a few times but usually we were in a hurry and my husband didn't want to stop :(. I must go one day alone to Olomouc and Brno. How funny is this clock with peasants and workers. and the guys really look as waving to you.

Have a nice weekend. Also hot in Stockholm?

    Hello Mesut,

Lovely picture, it is really blue voyage:). Very romantic with the full moon.
PS. I can't understand what is the sense to show the photos with so many pixels. In www version it is very small and in beta is too big - it is impossible to see the composition and usually the sharpness is gone. And it is difficult to see the note and the picture in the same time when opening new window. In my experience, 1600 pixels is optimal - the whole screen and easy to read the note.

Have a nice day, it will be probably hot but no problem on the water.
