    Hello May
This scene makes a very good panorama. It looks great in the higher resolution version which provides a better view of the floating village itself. I like the soft tones and shimmering reflection in the gentle slightly dim light. The mountains look fantastic, becoming increasingly hazy with distance from your viewpoint. Nicely framed and a good note.

    Hello Renzo.
Splendid landscape with beautiful soft colour tones. I just looked at the higher resolution version, which is just the perfect size. It's a beautiful tranquil scene, so still and the water gleaming with the reflected sunset. A superb and atmospheric photo - well done.

    Bonjour Philippe.
A lovely photo of this delightful village in this wine region, one which has not been spoilt by commerce. You have captured the winter sunshine very well, and composed the shot so that the surrounding green and rolling fields provide a beautiful setting for the buildings.

    Andrew

    Hi Luis.
Congratulations on your 10th anniversary. I completely forgot my own!
You chose a lovely picture to celebrate, simple but so striking. You controlled the exposure of the setting sun very well indeed, and the sky has a beautiful range of warm tones. So, the scene conveys loneliness and solitude, but is also inviting and reflective.

    Hello Angel.
A well composed seaside scene, with the viewer's eye being drawn out between the people and over the waves to the tiny shape of the boat on the horizon. I like the framing made by the silhouetted arch, and the way the figures add a daily life touch, emphasising a relaxed state of mind. Nicely done.

Hi Robert. Fabulous landscape shot, which rewards viewing in the higher res version. Incidentally, you've made it exactly the right res for a 24" screen. So sharp. Your exposure is excellent, strongly polarised, but not too much. I love the waterfall, and the fantastic detail on those rocky cliff surfaces. Your panoramic crop is also very appropriate and stresses the breadth of the composition. Excellent!

    Andrew

Hi Michael. Spectacular shot from your tourist bus, quite takes the breath away. Although there are some odd tones in the lower part of the sky. I like the extra dynamism gained from the angle of view and the very bright almost metallic panes on the angled plane. I'm in Melbourne, and so can't really offer more clues than the others have done through their googling; I suspect John is right in thinking it's the ANZ Bank Centre.

    Hi Federico
Wow, what a spectacular landscape, and what a splendid point of view. Looking at the medium resolution version, the sharpness is exquisite, and one can better see the tiny walkers ahead on the track. I love the very good exposure of the shadows and the snow, and the details on those rocks. Breathtaking!

Hello Denis. A very fine shot from Venice, a little different from the usual summer tourist photo, so not quite 'ultra classic' in my view! I like the fact the gondola is in the shade, and the way the buildings are lit by the pale Autumn sunlight. Excellent composing and cropping as usual.

Hi Bev. Talk about doom and gloom from the tomb. Very spooky and atmospheric. I had to view the larger version before I became aware of the chimneys over on the right, but then my eyesight is bat-like. You exposed it very well indeed. One would think it was the moon up there, which means your title is most appropriate. Well done.

Hi Benny. First, I know the song, and could sing it to its melody. Well chosen to complement the photo. Second, I like the portrait style of this picture, giving us a study in the man's patience as he waits. Looks like he might be chewing something, and he's obviously unaware of your taking the shot. I do like his white socks!

    Greetings John.
A very attractive picture of Bruges, with nice highlights on the canal and some winter sunlight falling here and there on the walls of the buildings. I like the inclusion of the figures walking beside the canal, obviously not tourists. You captured the mood very well in this picture.

    Hi Boa
Great piece of timing to catch this one. The photo is very well balanced between the girl and the silent witness who is so mysteriously looking straight into the lens. The ramshackle stone and brick-work make a suitably gritty background. Excellent street photo.

    Hello Ricardo.
A splendid shot. Who would think a department store would make such a good blue hour photo? The colour tones in sky and road are a great background for this new store. Looks great in the high resolution version, very sharp. An excellent exposure.
