    Hi Gert,

Are you positive he wasn't singing about Afghanistan, it would sure seem to be most appplicable!? :) Perhaps it's due to the fact of where I live, but my very first thought when seeing this picture was a vision of the Old West. I guess this could actually be considered the Old East, yeah? :) Bustling city streets without a woman in sight, doe's seem rather strange indeed. Great capture in the WS pic though to dispell any ideas they may not exist. More fascinating looks back in time and culture, I'm glad you have many to share, these are great! Enjoy the rest of the day. Take care.

    Bonjour Serge,

Simply beautiful, this could easily be a painting too. As a fellow shutterbug though, I'm glad it's a photo...I really like the sharp and defined textures and rustic appeal this supports. The old wagon wheels are a wonderful accent piece and give a touch of nostalgic quality to the overall scene. Very balanced in exposure, a good play of light and shade. You're fortunate to have this material in close proximity, it makes for delightful pictures. Enjoy the rest of the day. Take care.

    Howdy Cap'n,

Why do I picture you wearing one of those old time leather flight caps with the ear flaps down, and sporting a pair of goggles as you were taking this picture?? :P

The teddy bear? THAT'S the thing that caught your eye?? lol Come on you hound dog, shift on over to the right...awwww riiiight! ;) Little Miss Sally out there struttin' her stuff and flyin' high...oh yeah, this is a beauty shot alright!

Seriously though, this really is a great capture, not an easy thing to accomplish from something moving so fast and far away. I like the tight composition too, focusing on the detailing, and the propeller motion...well, puts it into motion. Nice diagonal cutting the vertical frame as well, that added dynamic to the visual. Well done soldier! Enjoy the rst of the day. Take it easy.

    Cheers from the ground crew,

    Hello Mr. Serghei,

Your last comment about Moscow made me laugh, "not so cool." haha

Good to see this one again too, same concept as the previous, but a different outcome which holds a unique appeal under the night sky. The floodlit colors jump out in stark contrast to the blackened night.

This particular set of balconies also gives us a change in shape, which holds a new and interesting result of its own. I like the section of palm tree that found its way into the frame as well. Perhaps it's simply the colors and lighting, but this has a "Miami-ish" vibe about it...you didn't sneak back over for a quick trip, did you? :) Enjoy the rest of the evening my friend. Take it easy.

    Cheers from sunny Phoenix,

    Jason

    Hi Bev,

Too bad I wasn't there with you, me and the dog would have gotten along just fine then! :) He looks like a big boy, but I'm sure his bark is much more than his bite...just a big, slobbery teddy bear I'm sure. :)

As a foreigner, I have in fact always associated these types of thatched roofs with England...'quintessential' is quite an apt term here!

I like this angle taken, it gives great dimension to this old house. The rustic textures are also a big attraction for me, I've always been a fan of anything red brick. This has a very nice "walk through the village" kind of appeal, simple and pleasing! Enjoy the rest of the day. Take good care.

    Hi Ike,

The title definitely garners intrigue, I like the touch of humor you've infused here. :) Definitely not a lazy lady if she can carry hundreds of passengers and get this kind of lift....up, up and away! A strong angle that emphasizes the raw power of aviation, and the faint vapor trails give a nice touch of added effect. This makes me want to be on that plane right now, off to a new adventure...but alas, I'm stuck at work!? Enjoy the rest of the day. Take good care.

    Hello Miss M.

Hmm, they're not all that different really...I mean, each one of these men has a mustache. :) A fun picture, and a nice tribute to Craig in advance of his trip next year. Also, a nice follow-up on his theme of differences...this is a wonderful trio to analyze.

They all seem to have similar expression though, almost like "deer in the headlights" watching your lens. Funny that you don't remember much about taking the picture, like some of Gerts...but you both come away with terrific results of human interest.

I guess I won't be able to tag along with this one, as I've never been to India. lol Thanks for detailing the background swastika, a very interesting and learned facet of this picture and culture...always good to learn something new. Enjoy the rest of the day my dear. Take care.

    Hi Murat,

For someone like me who is afraid of heights, this gets my heartbeat racing and makes my palms a bit sweaty! It's a great, elevated viewpoint...I'm just glad I can enjoy it from the safety of my computer. :) The inclusion of the beams helps the sense of anxiety, feels like I'm standing there myself looking down...waaaaaay down! Good timing to have that group of people boating the river, a nice touch and bonus effect. O.K., I'm backing away now, thanks for the scare. :) Have a great day. Take care.

    Bonjour Didi,

I would also contend this is a nice setting for photography as well. :) This slightly elevated point of view and composition draws us in with a wide foreground and then converges into the distance with ease...a nice "flow" from front to back. Simple and clear, it certainly looks like a nice day to be out enjoying the sunny skies along the canal. Enjoy the rest of the day. Take good care.

France? Paris..you say, o.k....I'm listening! :) As a huge fan of this country/city, you have my attention. I think this is a wonderful announcement, and I look forward with anticipation to viewing the city through your lens. A great start, and a timeless classic that I never tire of seeing. This compressed composition gives a strong perspective to the size of the tower and the bustling activity that surrounds this place.Clear, sharp and well detailed. Can't wait for more! Enjoy the rest of the day. Take care.
