    Ciao caro Silvio,

Another fine photograph from the interior of this viceregal palace, very well taken and beautifully presented.

I love your well considered composition and how the light from a window on the right lights up the doorway on the right which leads us through to numerous other doorways and rooms. The ornate chandelier is perfectly placed in the frame and we can admire the sumptuous wall coverings, the ornate ceiling and the paintings in this gorgeous room.

Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure despite the difficult lighting conditions and exquisite details and sharpness.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hi Dale,

I've walked to here along the Clyde walkway with some of my old pals last year - we're a bit like the "Last of the Summer Wine" when we go on our little treks! And I think we sat just at the base of the wall of the castle on the left here to eat our sandwiches.

I found this castle quite difficult to photograph (I didn't get a decent picture at all) but you have very wisely chosen a low viewpoint and used the lovely bright yellow flowers and a few bluebells to create a beautiful and colourful foreground which contrasts very nicely with the rich red sandstone of the castle ruins. And all beneath a lovely blue sky. This must have been a very fine day.

Beautiful light and colours, a good composition, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

Dear "Iron Grandma with the Itchy Feet",

A fascinating note and a good recount of your intrepid trek around this lake! I'm so pleased that your driver eventually found you!

But what a glorious view across this lake - and this is the lowest of the three lakes which you describe - I wonder just how beautiful the two higher lakes might be? Perhaps there would not be quite so much lush greenery and trees?

The is indeed a beautiful view, the high snow capped mountains making a fine background while we see some lovely light on the blue lake itself, nicely framed by the foreground trees which almost glow in the sunlight. Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent details and clarity.

    Bravo!

    Kindest Regards,

    John.

    Hello Jean,

As a dedicated recycler, I think it's good that sculptors and other artists can make use of discarded materials and put their skills to work, especially if they can come up with a result as attractive as this splendid fox!

It may not be art in the classical sense, but this fox is very attractive indeed and you have captured its image perfectly as it stands out colourfully and boldly against the background of these lovely gardens. The light generally is lovely but on the fox itself it is stunning, bringing out the rich colours beautifully. Superb technical quality too.

    Excellent!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hello Fred,

An interesting note and a splendid photograph to accompany it!

I love your composition in which the modern stainless steel sculpture is brightly lit and dominates the left side of the image while the beautiful old cathedral, surrounded by mature trees sits behind it in soft light against a gorgeous deep blue sky.

The light and colours here are lovely, your exposure perfect and the details and sharpness are exquisite.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

P.S. I'm sure it's not just a coincidence that two amateur photographers from Ireland share the surname Byrne? :) I hope you're enjoying this site as much as Noel and I do!

    Hello Daniel,

Most of us have probably been here but I never knew about the "Piazetta", so I have learned something useful today!

The weather wasn't great when you were here but, you know, sometimes rain and wet weather can actually enhance a photograph by increasing colour saturation and reducing strong contrasts. And the dull wet weather here has done just that but it has also given you some lovely reflections on the wet ground as well as providing some very colourfully dressed visitors with their bright clothes and umbrellas.

Lovely soft light, great colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness. And those rows of empty wet chairs make a fine foreground.

    Lovely!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

I wonder how many times the man on the right has walked this corridor. Did he walk it as a young novice and today is an old old man. The thought of time passing on this calm place like that, surrounded by the chaos of the city does make toy stop and think. Very nice photo and note

    Hi Craig,
I think if the artist knew what was in my head he might give a more definitive answer :) I love the photo, I absolutely do, the stark red against the black towers is really eye catching and of course, I envy the architecture and the reflection is brilliant. The art makes me think of some hybrid alien /robot invader, I'd say 80% giant crab monster and 20% machine. Seeing it in that detail gives it a very real and rather creepy appearance. It does look alive here, and angry. Something about its gait says "I'm going to hurt things"

    Hi Dale
This is a fantastic compliment to your other photos of the tower, and this has a totally different feel. The complex is a lot bigger than I thought from your more recent photo, and the dark tone on the walls here gives a very moody dark feeling, it looks rather threatening here. very cool!

Truly fanatic picture! Castles are what got me into photography so it's airways a pleasure to see one. I love these kinds of towering ruins, and red colour is beautiful, I am too used to seeing very in Ireland!
The depth of field you got is so spot on. Taking both the grass and flowers, as well as the castle in sharp focus is really perfect. the flowers add really well composed splashes of extra color. Very cool photo!

    Hi Mariusz,

As always, you have written a comprehensive and interesting note and given us a beautiful photograph to admire.

This scene works very well in black and white (I wonder what it would have been like in colour?) and your composition is excellent with the groups of visitors on the shiny tiled floor surrounded by interesting works of art and lit by the row of bright chandeliers which lead us into the depths of the picture.

A lovely clear photograph with perfect exposure, stunning details and sharpness and exquisite details and sharpness.

I'm not sure what those white structures at top left are - are they some sort of dehumidifier to prevent the damp breath of visitors damaging the artefacts carved from the rock salt?

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.
