    Hola Angel,

As hard as they try, celebrities will never fully escape the camera lenses, yeah? :) Easy to understand why they would want to come here, it feels secluded and incredibly inviting. This is a superb scene, and as you pointed out, minimal in it's subject matter...but huge on appeal. As the saying goes "Less is More!"

You've framed this with wonderful layers of color and element, and the compressed perspective brings it together with ease. Simply gorgeous! Enjoy the new day. All the best.

    Hi Noel,

It's a face to face....uhmmm, well...face off! :) As with so much of the storied history throughout Ireland, this must have been quite an inspiring and striking visual, and is still impressive to this day. I'm forever perplexed though, how can a country with so much rain not have prevented fires from burning out of control to completely destroy these places?? ;)

I would actually be a bit intimidated having to pass this gauntlet. Ever since the sculptures came to life in Tomb Raider, these kinds of things always make me nervous!? lol

The rich colors here are stunning, and the warm sunlight makes them all the more attractive. Even from this small sampling, I can easily understand what would make this a popular spot for photographers. As always, a very informative and well written note to further understand and appreciate the imagery. Enjoy the new day. Take care.

Cheers from the hotbox,(it's still 40c here!?)

    Hi Ike,

I'm not sure why, but it always strikes me as somewhat surprising to know some of these old American cars in different countries. Fun to see though, and takes me back to my early childhood riding around in similar ones. I used to get embarrassed being seen in such big cars, but they're now classics and are worth quite a bit if kept properly. A lot of nostalgia and good 'ol blue collar workmanship here, a blast from the past. :) Have a great day ahead. All the best.

Nice how the arch creates a natural frame together with the beautiful pavement draws us into the catchy distance and many points of interest. A well observed and capture with lots of sunshine on a fresher day filled with a wealth of colours, good clarity and striking contrast. Great capture, TFS

    Bonsoir Serge,

This is quite a lovely square, Jacques Cartier should be proud. :) The decorative foliage is a nice touch of aesthetics to compliment the surroundings. A bit surprising not to see anyone out and about on such a nice looking day under clear skies. Perhaps it was still early, but no matter the timing, this is an inviting place to spend some leisurely time I'm sure. As Bev pointed out, this has very much of a French appearance...which is always something I will find attractive. :) Enjoy the new day ahead. All the best.

    Hi Josť,

This sure seems to be a popular place to visit, and from the pictures I've seen posted here, it's no surprise. And you have one that fully supports that notion, this is a splendid view over the rooftops and offers up a good layout of the town. The tower is perfectly placed as a solid focal point amongst the maze of homes. Looks to have been quite a nice day as well, plenty of sunshine to liven up the scenery with rich colors and details. This would make the local tourist board happy. :) Enjoy the new day. All the best.

    Hi Craig,

You know, I'm just going to come right out and say it...I don't believe this picture was taken by you, for two reasons in particular.

First of all, she doesn't look pissed off.

Secondly, it was with purposeful intent that a human presence was photographed.

So there you have it, not convinced at all!! lol

My poor attempt at humor aside, this is great! Who would have ever thought that you would go out of your way to capture more of a candid, portrait type shot? Love it!

And I love the youthful attitude of these ladies, one prodding the other to go ahead and be photographed. Little does she know it, but she's now traveled around the TE world. :)

Don't sweat the background, the real stars here are this lady and your goal of getting her involved in the process. Sure, the setting is picturesque and deserving of its own photo, but this holds even more interest....and that's coming from ME, who tried his best to avoid people in pictures not that long ago as well. haha

You've successfully tied the location with the local, a super result bud! Enjoy the rest of your evening. Take it easy.

    Cheers from the desert,

    Jason

    Hi Bev,

This is undoubtedly NOT the terrain you want hidden under your feet, good thing you here at this given moment and not caught with incoming tides...ouch! Fascinating formations created by natures handy work, and it sure adds a unique element to the traditional beach setting. If we didn't know any better, you could have passed this off as Hawaii. :)

Although bright and sunny, the rocks render a nice touch of dark contrast. It's fun to take a little visual journey through the frame as well, pretending to be a miniature trekker making his way through the rugged landscape...or is it simply my strange mind coming up with that perspective!? lol No matter the case, it's a beautiful picture of what this earth has to offer the adventurous mind. Enjoy the new day.

    Hi Gert,

I still had a ways to travel, but was recently close enough to where East meets West that the title for this one stands out in my mind. Sounds like you were "the odd man out" in this particular location, but it paid dividends coming across something out of the ordinary.

Perhaps it's just my lack of knowledge and travel experience, but they appear to be dressed a bit uncomfortably for relaxation exercises!? Then again, the weather might have something to do with it as well. Regardless, you found your own meditative state...the consciously unconscious act of photographing a nice little daily life scene. :) Well done as always! Ahhhhh, just a walk in the park. Enjoy the new day.

Ciao Livia. One could spend more than a day in this place especially if one was interested in botany? Did you see the ancient olive trees? Nice POV, more intimate than if you showed the overall size of the greenhouse. I particularly liked the waterfall and the tropical plants in the other enclosure. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Malgo. Very rich in frescoes and glorious colours. One can imagine the trance like state a peasant would experience in seeing this interior for the first, second, third time. Even the more sophisticated merchant classes could imagine that they were seeing a hint of Paradise. I do have a question as to the Christian paradise- what on earth would the good be doing for all eternity? Float around like lost balloons. At least the Islamic paradise has wine, women and song. As for the Viking one, let's not talk about it. Inspirational POV and exceptional control of light. Pozdrawiam. Klaudio.

    Hi Klaudio,

I'm baffled that I never caught this from the main gallery pages. Being that I'm originally from Salt Lake City, Utah...this is a natural connection for me. Granted, the locations are a world apart, but the content is closely related!

Everything about this scene brings to mind memories of home, as I grew up relatively near the lake and went there many times in my youth. Love how you've put this together, the layered and compressed perspective is beautiful...and if it smells anything like the Great Salt Lake, it's better to keep a distance. lol The soft light and toned down colors help create a soothing atmosphere, I can virtually hear the quiet calm from here. Lovely! Have a good one. Take it easy.

    Hi Gladys,

It's easy to be attracted to a sunset/sunrise, and it's no wonder there are many posted here on TE...but this one has a different ambiance about it, and one I'm quite fascinated with. I think it's the simple effect of the colors projected onto the dry road, very unusual, and extremely effective. As you noted, these types of moments are fleeting, and you were blessed to be in the right place at the right time to capture this beauty. You've definitely taken advantage of the moment, and it paid off well! Enjoy the new day. Take care.

Liking this color as much as I do, I just couldn't pass it up in your gallery. :) Not only is the ample amount of blue and attractive quality, but the mix of geometric shapes is alive and well within this composition. And if that's not enough, you have also finished it off with sharp detail and textures. For relatively minimal subject matter, it's huge on appeal! Enjoy the new day. Take care.

Wait, what...it's winter already, where did this snow come from? :) Lovely use of the street corner to provide opposing directions of the gate, while having a solid point of focus in the church. Hello dear Malgo,

What do you mean, no problem taking pictures inside of churches...how come I didn't come away with any?? ;) You are having such a great time, and I really miss being able to share the continued experience of traveling through Russia...but I can at least follow along in pictures. :)

Fully comprehending the lighting situations, you have a tremendous result here...the color and detailing is super! I almost had to wear a neck brace to support my head because I was looking upwards so often every time I/we entered one of these places...but like everything else, so very worth it! Always looking forward to the next picture and story. I'm sure once you return home and have a bit of free time before your next adventure, we will see many more. :) Take good care my friend. All the best wishes.

Whew! I, for one, am glad that summer is coming to an end...but then again, I'm sure to be in the vast minority. hehe Easy to see why you would enjoy this so much, the waters look extremely inviting, and I can only imagine, quite refreshing too. The touches of dry land in the near distance help guide the eye towards the horizon, and make for a nice anchor on both sides of the frame. So, the only thing that's missing now is yourself....oh wait, FB helped out with that. :) Have a great day ahead. Take it easy. Cheers to summer!
