    Hello Jasmine,
It's a very interesting comparison between the two versions. Especially the sky gets a completely different appearance in B&W, a lot more dramatic. Whereas the church, however nice, is maybe just about average, this photo is far above average, thanks to this sky and the vigorous contrasts.
And thanks again for your many kind critiques of my photos.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

What a picturesque scene Kasia. The warm tint of the sun's light on the moon is in sharp contrast with the chilly morning mood as displayed by the overall cool tones and the layer of mist hovering above the ground.

Hard to believe this wonderful natural scene is but a stone's throw from the huge sprawl of outer London. A most attractive piece of work and lovely subject.

    Warm regards

    Hello Way,
Thanks for taking the trouble of going to this remote place, so you could show us your pictures, because I wouldn't imagine going here myself, not even for the chance of taking photos like this. You obviously did very well to use the flash in these difficult circumstances, because the light is remarkably nice, or well handled. It is no doubt a fascinating scenery, but what a tough place to live.
    Kind rgeards,
    Gert

    Hello Kasia,
This is a wonderful picture, well worth another cold and uncomfortable night spent in the car :-). Everything is so neatly and perfectly lined up as if you had told the deers where to stand and the moon where to set. The haze has given the colours a magic softness. Fantastic.

    Hello Ourania,
This looks very pleasant indeed, a perfect way to spend a part of the day. Those persons had a nice time, and it's a pleasure to watch them and enjoy the same view of the bay and the village. On the left side you included the tree very nicely, on the right side it would have been perfect if you had removed the nearest chair :-). (No offense intended.)
    Kind regards,

So you got the permission to wander in this area to take from the bottom the huge boat ready to be painted again. The inclusion of the man is the cherry on the cake.

    Hello Serghei,
This composition is just as stunning and impressive as those from California, the major difference being that there is more snow in the Perm area. There is a good balance between the church at the top and the person walking along the narrow path at the bottom. This is really not a bad view from a balcony. Just imagine how nice it will look with green grass and green trees. The WS is more beautiful, but this is a more interesting photo.
    Kind regards,
    Ger

    Hello Mike,
I like very much this photo, not only for the architecture and the fine graphic effect but also for the atmosphere created by the blue tones and the diffused light. A very intriguing geometrical arrangement, it looks like the patterns' position in the frame is not permanent. Congratulations and thank you!

Wow Olivier - This is so good. You have managed the light beautifully and the detail throughout the shot is top class. The rocks in the FG have such immediacy I feel as if I can reach out and touch them and the fault line leads the eye to the more distant landscape. My husband is a geologist so has had a look at this an is impressed by how well the geological features are revealed.

    A beautiful landscape.

What a fine shot Kamila and so lovely to see the traditional houses with their swooping roofs. There is such a lot of interesting detail here from the road sweeper on her bike to the pavement restaurant and scattering of people. Of note the dull misty distance adds mood. I wonder if it is pollution or climatic conditions? Whichever it adds a lot to the shot.

    Hi Dimitris
What a vast and simply stunning landscape not only in color rendition but the refine elements well interacted together; the lead-in stretches into the valley deep down below with the beautiful clouds above. Lots of green is valuable in contrast to the old dwelling which has stood the test of time making a strong foreground base. The lighting is great with so much to look at. A superb capture and thks for sharing. Congrats

Hello Dimitris - The rustic walls and roof tops of the building have been beautifully captured with marvellous rough textures and colours well defined.

I love how they pop against the landscape. Attractive depth and detail I like this scene very much

this is a superb picture, not only the place is beautiful and interesting but your presentation of it looks artistic and fascinating. I like very much the way you composed this photo, placing the most attractive element at the centre and surrounding it with an unexpected, elaborate and delightful symmetry. You've achieved excellent definition and wonderful colours, you used the special light in a most effective way. Congratulations and thank you!

Hello Roger - I love this eclectic-looking house. The mish-mash of styles and detail has enormous visual appeal and I would love to have a look inside. What on earth is the pyramidal tower about? Perhaps it is a good place from which to spy on the neighbours.

Sadly the overhead wires spoil the view a little but that is the price to pay for a modern lifestyle. I wonder if this house was lit by lamps before being wired? This would make a great location for a creepy story.

    A fascinating building!

    Warm regards

Bonjour Serge - I am taken by the spaciousness of this graveyard.... lots of plots waiting to be filled! The church is nicely positioned within the frame and I love the way the trees appear to protect it. The light is especially pretty across the foliage and church giving super definition and form.

    Hi Craig
They are the prime candidates for colour popping! the old style of making phone calls well found but having the two standing side-by-side is great bonus! Surprisingly the coinafon still survives here but how long would this still stay there with all the mobile phones invasion. This is in Cuba and the reasons are obvious but how lovely that you were there just at the right time to catch this fun, it's technically well performed street shot and a great social comment. A pleasure to view, I luv it. Congrats
