Spectacular shot, Ahmad. I feel the same way about taking photos of people taking photos...and making sure to include their subjects. This is especially good, because you've included the photo your subject was taking for example.

    Hello Craig,

I'm glad you included the people in the photo (not that you can avoid them) but the place is a living museum. The light and resulting resolution are ideal. I've seen images of the iconic edifice with young women lined up, all in colorful saris. It becomes a breath taking sight, even if it is an arranged event. The summer gets much too hot, and I have the memories of a heat stroke I suffered in July 2010. But then, a good friend had warned me, "Only mad dogs and Englishmen come in July... and I know you're not English!"

    Warm regards,

    Hello May,

B&W is the ideal format for a French scene from the 50s or even 60s. You captured the man deep in thought as he does his reading for the day. A first rate piece of photographic art.

    Dear Lars,

The fabulous Impressionist creation here would have made Monet proud. Compare this photo with images of
Monet's Cathedrals. Normally when I take photos of reflections in water, I don't like to invert it. Here the inversion works perfectly, especially with the brushwork in the sky.

    Hello Alexandre,

Clear, crisp shot, is the cliff on the sea or inland? Although you have a more recent photo on Trekearth, this one caught my eye immediately. The crescent and star comprise the Turkish flag. I wonder if the individuals carving on the cliff had a subtle message in mind?

Between 19 December 2015 and 3 January 2016, I will be on a cruise of the Crystal Symphony, visiting Brazil. I will be serving as a Special Topics Lecturer). I am very enthusiastic about the prospect of seeing your magnificent country.

    Warm regards,

    Hello Michelle,

A nice and clean photo reflecting the pristine Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. Except for the puzzling woman in bare feet, there is no one in sight. In 2012 we made a pitstop there, flying from New Delhi to Phuket, and then a few days later, flying back to New Delhi. It's good to see you back at TE. I want to know about your other photos.

    Dear Malgorzata,

You are absolutely right. I don't remember seeing any other shots of the interior of the Duomo in Siena. The inlaid marble characterizing Italian religious buildings in the late Medieval and early Renaissance is the best in the world, mathematical mosaics at their best. You must have had a wonderful time in Tuscany on this last trip. I assume you are back in Warsaw by notw.

    Hello Vasilis,

This is an excellent aerial view, shot with ideal light. It is well composed and perfectly exposed. The irst time I visited Navplion, I climbed up the 999 steps to the citadel. My son who was with me was in training (he was a world class rower) and he sprinted up the stairs, I barely made it up. In subsequent trips I took tour buses or taxis to get to the top.

You have so many fine photos from the rim of the magnificent Aegean that it is hard to decide which one to critique. So, I will start with this image of a cat framed between a column and a plinth, set against the backdrop of a setting sun in Volos. The composition and light management are excellent.

    Hello Bev,

I always like to see images of stately English homes. I had not known of Biddulph Grange and but its gorgeous gardens. Thanks to this very fine photo and equally fine note, I've learned something. Years ago, they published the Royal AA travel book, replete with descriptions and maps (in the United States, that is of course the "Triple-A"). On weekends I frequently traveled around the UK and created my ink sketches with the AA travel book in hand. Take a look at the short slide show (6-seconds for each slide) on "The Architectural Portraits", then click on Rooms 1 and 2 to see sites in the UK.

    Warm regards, Bev,
