    Hello Bev,

Lining up the models in this manner is an imaginative composition, as is the shop owner's conception in the first place. It would be have been useful to have a man examining the mannequins for the sake of the composition. Was your husband not willing to be put into that role?

Warm regards. Have a good weekend,

    Bulent

PS I don't think you have a Facebook page, as many other TE friends do. I created a new "National Geographic Friends" subpage there, and over 300 TE friends are posting photos there.

    Hello Klaudio,

This is a beautiful area of London, with the National Gallery, the Portrait Gallery, St. Martin's in the Field all in view. The special Delacroix exhibition would have been enjoyable to see. I like the view from just above the fountain at Trafalgar Square, seemingly amplifying the size of the pond.

    Hello Jan,

I thought it might be a Calatrava design. It's remarkable how productive the man is. In Venice, I saw his bridge and then the Science and Art City in Valencia. It's good to see that his work has made its way to Belgium.

    Warm regards,

    Dear John,

Such a pristine well-maintained area and your photograph testifies to that fact. The note adds a great deal to my understanding. So you prefer cats to dogs. As I wrote to Malgorzata, "My son's family has a dog. The children (my son and his wife have four) named their dog, a Gorgeous Golden Retriever, "Leo," short for "Leonardo." Leo is very bright. He trained his masters early. As a puppy, he would steal a shoe or sock, and run into the woods. When he was given a treat (usually dried meat) he would come back with whatever he had held as collateral. My daughter Jeannine's family has a dog — a mutt incorporating many species. There is nothing gracious or beautiful about him for anyone but his owners. He is just as smart as Leo. His owners named him "Max," short for "Maximilian Isaac."

    Warm regards,

    Dear Gigi,

I know this scene well. It is magnificent, and I can never get enough of it. You had the climb that hill to get to the house on top, a difficult task on a hot summer day. But 4 weeks ago in May when you made the climb it must have been quite pleasant. Also, since I haven't been there in the last 8-10 years, the yachts have gotten larger.

Warmest regards to your lovely family,

It is an amusing design for the building, the sides form a sharp edge. I wonder how they use the interior at that edge? Your shots of Kazakhstan are an educational experience for all of us at Trekearth.

    Hello Ike,

This must be a one-way street. The satellite dishes give away the compass direction — we are looking north. The stonework is very beautiful, but it is the deeply rusticated technique with deep seams that makes it characteristic of Jerusalem. Have a good weekend.

    Hello Brenda,

I love this symmetric perspective on the interior of the Oculus. Indeed, I am seeing it for the first time. The people give the structure scale, somewhat like an architectural drawing. Calatrava has become one of my favorite modern architects. Several years ago I saw ”Calatrava’s Science and Art City” in Valencia. I hope you get a chance to see it also.

I like very much the narrow panoramic cropping that creates three separate focal points — the pair of dogs, the cyclist, and the young girl standing near the side — all in their own worlds. The pastel hues of painted on the asphalt complement the pastel green of the fence. It's a relaxing scene.
