    Gidday Fred

This is a cracking photo. The sunset colours - particularly the pink tones - are breath-taking. And we get 2 for the price of 1 with them being reflected in the river so beautifully. With one of the most attractive subjects in the background, the ancient castle. A breath-taking image, I hope you've printed it and it's up in your living room wall.

Thanks for sharing, have a great week
    Lisa

    Hello Noel,

Your photograph reveals the raw, wild beauty of the coast and joins its promontories purposefully with this very attractive bridge.
It's a fine composition of sea and land.
I like that you have figures in the scene for scale and to link man's intervention in the scenery.
It's a pity that the figure was so far across the bridge, he would have been better more prominently positioned for your purpose though the lady in the corner is well placed.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hola Angel,

At first view, I thought the window was surrounded by window boxes but then I see that lots of small plant pots contain the flowers; it's a very novel idea and allows for lots of variety.
Your photograph is very well cropped, giving a symmetrical image that is both sharp and colourful.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello John,

I took a shot almost identical to this and remember saying to Tosca how beautiful the light was at that moment. There is no doubt that your photograph reveals this light.
You have done some excellent pp work, possibly layering, which has made the National Monument appear very sharp and 3D against the blue sky.
The overhanging tree assists with a sense of depth, too.

I just love how the city and the firth are evident in the b/g, they are so incongruous with the f/g subject. Don't you just love Edinburgh! There are so many different aspects in such a relatively small space!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello John,

    A fine shot from Brussels.
Though the sky is grey and overcast, the details of the City Hall, and other buildings, are sharp and colourful. The gold details are fairly popping off the surfaces!
The square looks like a place for meetings as families stop and chat. They give the place a very friendly air as well as giving scale to these grand buildings.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Bonjour Nicolas,

The light on the f/g is wonderful and creates a pattern of strong and ghostly lines with the cereal crops. This is such a contrast with the b/g, whose shapes are large, shaded and blurred.
You have a wonderful 'eye' for capturing the beauty and patterns of Nature.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Bonjour Juliette,

When focusing upwards, it is not easy to achieve such perfect symmetry, whilst also making sure that you have the included all your intended subject and got your camera setting exact. This is a fine, sharp capture of the colonnade and its architectural decorations. you have achieved an excellent sense of perspective.

    Hello Danos,

This evening light, so soft, provides such a fine time to photograph. It conveys a sense of warmth and calm.
You have chosen a delightful subject, the riders traversing the beach, with the light reflecting on the sea and the hills slowly disappearing into the evening dusk.
My father always used to say that the best, the happiest films, always ended with the heroes riding off into the sunset! Can I say more!!!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Serge,

There are so many interlacing pictures, so many styles, that it hurts the brain to identify them all. It is even difficult to establish where the building begins and ends!
    What a conglomeration!
Yet it is certainly a scene worth photographing, for it reveals the trends and opportunities utilised in modern culture. You captured the building with fine clarity.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Gunnar,

How lovely to see you posting again.
It is a pleasure to see former contributors, when so many regulars have left!

It is the light that is so noticeable in your photograph, creating such a contrast between the two buildings; one appears to be bright, the other shaded, though they are both equally sharp.
The triangular section, in the f/g, creates a fine lead line to the two, fine edifices which stand out well against the moody, dark sky.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

A very romantic scene indeed. Well observed and beautifully executed and presented. The dog is a nice addition and has such great impact on the scene that it deserves a place in your well chosen title. The dark background let the young couple shine and get the main attention and the beautiful architecture creates a perfect framing. Excellent! TFS.
