Zdravo Kasia. I see that I have missed a number of your photos while away and that you did go to Cappadocia. I loved my balloon flight over these formations and still have the certificate we received. Nicely balanced shot with the balloon on upper left. Nature has a mischievous sense of humour. Selam Çağla. What a portrait! this face seems to be illuminated from within, her spirit shines through that smile and those incredible eyes which remind me of the expensive glass marbles that I played with as a child. She is not old as you say, the body might age but the spirit is eternal.May Allah look kindly upon her and keep her smiling. Glad to read that you visit her now and then. Best wishes. Klaudio.

    Hello Noel,

It is unusual to find the picture of a sculpture creating strong emotions but, curiously, I found this quite disturbing. That is not to say your photography is disturbing, far from it, it has obviously captured the sculpture with great clarity. The wolf seems to be crowing over his ability to gain the affection of this human. There is no tenderness, no reciprocal response, just bragging!

This is a fine example of good use of shallow dof.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hi Emmanuel
    haha..love this subject.
I've never seen it in person before, but I vow to at some point during my travels.

I like how you've made it look like it's zooming up into the heavens. and the side building in silver blue is neat too.

    nice shot

    wonderful post.
this is one of those photos where it just goes to show how important notes are. This note has so much info.

and it makes me appreciate the photo that much more as well.

love the look the dog is giving you, and the pose of the man.

interesting reading your communications with Gert too.

    Hello Craig,

    Your photograph doesn't lie!
    It was Heaven!
Those textural nets lining the quayside, the boats and reflections creating the perspective, the building high on the hill and a beautiful cloud etched sky are all a photographer could ask for!
Your wide angle captures so much!

I will have to check where this is.
We visited Sorrento several years ago but I don't remember this island. I know it will be a place to visit if we should return.

    Have a great Sunday,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Harriet,

I was going to ask if you had to prove your competence as a sailor but you explained it all clearly.
This is a lovely shot of the bay with leads like a zigzag across the frame. The calmness of the water has ensured the clarity of the reflections in this gorgeous light.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

Ha! Ha! Ike, this is very much a 'boy' thing. My husband would love to watch aeroplanes landing and taking off and detail their make and country of origin.

I love the thought that these huge, heavy machines are capable of lifting off from the ground and flying gracefully, like birds, but without a single beat of their wings.
I love the effects of perspective, where this plane, hanging in the air, appears larger than any skyscraper! You have captured its details really clearly. Did you pan the shot?

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hi Jose
sometimes the smallest of subjects make all the difference.

the older lady in the blue dress with the cane is the star of the show, at least in my opinion anyways :)

take away the lady and it just wouldn't have the same sort of impact.

    excellent shot

    Bonjour Nicolas,

Certainly the old is broken, rough and cracked, whilst the new is elegant, tall and adorned with foliage. These are strong contrasts and nicely highlighted by their proximity in your well composed shot.

    Hi Malgo
easy to see why people have been enjoying this one.

first of all, the architecture stands out simply on its own.
the golds contrast so well with all those whites.

and the exposure is spot on too, very attractive shot overall.
    enjoy your weekend

    Hello Malgo,

Broken, dilapidated structures, or features, do have wonderful textures and a story that we can only imagine.
These broken boards are perfect; one set leading to the streaks of sunlight, the others leading to the tilting wreck. You have ensured that we view the whole scene.
Of course, Craig would be in his element here!

    Have a lovely Sunday,

    Hello Ann,

It is heart-rending to imagine the pain and tragedies that these people endured. Fortunately, there is no evidence of it in your photograph, which shows these two colourful monks and the response evoked by them in the shopkeeper. What peace and humility.

I love the inclusion of the biker. I can't decide if he is thinking about buying something, staring at the monks or assessing the potential of the parked bike! Each makes an interesting scenario!

You did well to get such a fine shot from a moving bus!

I am very impressed by this pretty village and your photograph, which is beautifully composed, with colours that evoke friendship and fun.
