    Hi Will
at 50mm focal length, you were fairly close to these two men, its not like you used a 200 or 300 mm focal length.

and you're right, the hand gestures and close personal eye contact make the scene what it is. and they have no idea you were capturing them, did they find out later? fun shot, good capture of the human experience. cheers

    Hello Will,

It's always a pleasure to see recent posts from you. This is a lovely B&W work of art, the young man in the photo is ideally placed (almost exactly 0.618 parts measured from the right) and grabs one's eye. The note is detailed and complements the wonderful photo.

    Warm regards,

    Dear Mesut,

This photo belongs in a fine art history book. You've captured the timeless beauty of the mozaics that date back two millennia. I see that you shot the photo almost 11 years ago. I imagine, if we are careful, and lucky, we can still travel to Gaziantep.

    Hello Benny,

The scene is so frequently seen and admired. Your expansive perspective includes these temple, the deep woods, and the distant hills. The colors, however, are a bit disconcerting as if the scene was shot through plate glass. I am going to try a ws, I hope you don't mind, simply correcting according to Photoshop's sensibilities.

    Merhaba Murat Bey,

You've chosen an unusual by highly effective angle depicting two of the four Presidents memorialized at Mt. Rushmore. I am embarrassed to admit that in my two trips by car across the country I missed Mt. Rushmore and I missed Yellowstone. I did, however, get to Yosemite, which I though was the most beautiful park in the United States. (I was a young post-doc at the time and more focused on getting to UCal-Berkeley and back.)

    Hello Kladio,

With the sunlight at a grazing angle the dimples in the sand are dramatically accentuated. I imagine the cabins are changing rooms. All in all, it's a lovely shot from down under Australia. I am frustrated that last year when we came to Australia, we could not spend enough to see anything beyond Sydney and Brisbane. That's akin to visiting the United States and seeing one coastal city. Hoepfully, we'll get another chance.

Unhappily, you are right. TE is down to bare bone members comprised of the die-hard members for 10 or more years ago. I think a number of Draconian decisions by administrators led to this state of affairs. I miss many of the people from my early years 2006-2007.

    Warm regards, Klaudio,

    Hi Bulent
ah...one of your best posts! this is an easy 10 out of 10 in my books :) I'd love to have it in my own personal gallery!

I like how you describe the buildings growing up out of the sand like weeds - smart analogy.

love the hundreds of little blocks/windows, it creates such a strange yet cool visual, its very graphic that way.
the tight framing works so well too. what can I say? its fantastic. cheers

    well this is certainly different.
Never seen this view before of the Bahai gardens.
lovely night shot my friend, it worked out so well.
the structure up top is very clear and sharp, the lights up on the garden add another layer of interest too.
as do the trailing car lights. excellent darkened exposure.

    Hi Mesut
for me, the best part of the scene is how the water looks so black even though we know its a dark royal blue. and its looks powerful too, makes me wonder what's below the surface.
the sunlight upon that water is very attractive as well.
a different but sweet shot of the city. cheers
