    Hi Daniel
always nice to see autumn scenes from around the globe.
any new photos? although this one is pretty sweet as well, easy to see why you posted it.

my favorite part has to be the orange leaves on the ground near the top.

    looking forward to more

    Hi Gert
sorry for the late reply and lack of replies of late.

I'm getting so frustrated with TE and its image quality when i post a photo. I've tried the 'hard refresh', it seems to have worked - for now. We'll see.

as for your photo here, the first thing that came to mind was how long were these guys walking for? did they meander around the bends of the mountains in the bg? and how long do they still have to go?

really enjoy the story, and its nice to hear that you actually remember this scene haha

    keep them coming

    Hi Bev
Haha, i have a few photos like this in my personal gallery from our large Port of Vancouver. Just haven't gotten around to posting them.

basically every subject in the scene has its own positives.
love the cranes, love the two yellow vehicles, love the 2 rustic buildings in the bg and you can never go wrong with having a couple of boats in a scene with reflections.

    lots to like here.
    see you around

    a greek post? awesome.

its so much more fun to view these photos now that I can say i've been here myself! hahaha

stunning sharpness and definition in all of the architecture.
i'd be extremely happy and satisfied with this one, I hope you are too.

haha..this is a shot that I usually post.
the strong angles, strong lines, strong perspectives.

you have captured some soft beautiful side lighting on that church, it stands out as the focal point to me.

    Hi John
this scene reminds me of the famous dead looking tree we see in photos from Namibia :)

not quite as dramatic of an environment as the one in Namibia, but beautiful still.

in my opinion, whatever thats worth, the best part of the scene or the subject that makes the most impact is the brown grass.

the brown/golden colors just pop out at us, and because the mountains in the bg are so dark, the fg comes alive.

this is what i love about photography John. Think about how many people just drive by, walk by, or simple ignore a scene like this. But not a photographer with a keen compositional eye. well spotted and executed.

    Hi Ray
don't you just love Mark Twain!
haha...i have a couple of his books, he's quite the writer, he certainly has a way with words.

even with his description of this place, i'd still love to see it in person. Seems like the kind of place most people would avoid - that makes me want to see it even more.

lots of rustic beauty from my eyes, love it

looking at this town from this vantage point is well worth the time and effort.

you can tell the town would be SO charming to walk along its streets. and i bet they're cobble stone streets too!

too bad we can't see the tower and how it looked in its prime...that would be sweet.

for some reason when I see this photo I think of a knife.

Maybe its the sharp lines on the downward diagonal that make me think that way - the destinctive lines on the boat.

love the frame, the wiggles in the water and just the overall white/blue/black color combo.

    very attractive

    awesome post!
this is a wonderful follow up photo to your previous one to this.

    Hi Malgo
first of all, i have to apologize for missing this photo in your gallery.
I should have checked up on it :)

and you're right, this is very much my style, my favorite subject, my favorite 'hunt'

thanks for including the WS photos too, its a fine collection of 3 shots.

the more rust, the better in my opinion.
the wooden planks kind of add to the rustic feel as well, don't you think?

i'm glad that you ventured out to get this subject. I hope you feel it was worth the effort!
