    Hi Rob
now this is a scene we don't get to see very often from NYC.
glad you posted it. personally, I think this is one of the better looking bridges in the City.
can you walk across it? I didn't get the opportunity to see this bridge up close when I visited.

Its great that you included the tall stack on the right, it gives the scene an Industrial feel, one that I wouldn't have expected. cool shot!

    Hi Erling
nice to see you posting photos once again, we need all the TE members we can get these days!

i'm glad to see you placed that wire coming out of the bottom left corner, thats how its suppose to be for a smart composition, i like your attention to detail on that.

and obviously the strong blue will catch our attention.
its fun taking these shots, it puts our creative minds to work and keeps our brains thinking :)
nice shot, as with your previous.

    Hi Angel
you prove again that even in harsh mid mad lighting the photo can turn out well :)
Too bad there aren't any clouds in the sky to buffer that light a bit, but thats not your fault.
great to see the overview of the landscape and how everything interacts. I bet some of those houses have beautiful views.
nice contrasts with the greens vs blues.
    looks great

    Hi Carlo
I'm not a huge fan of this type of art, but I have to be honest - I like this one.
the artist has done well to use old parts to make one giant new one :)
if you slow down and look at every part, we can actually make them all out. This is a type of photo where we need to examine it for a long time to fully appreciate it, and thats what i've done :)
    excellent subject for TE

    Hi Ryszard
    love it!
easy to see why you would want to post this photo, especially in this lighting. The light allows all the orange/red rooftops to POP and come alive in the scene.
that one tower way in the bg surely stands out in the city doesn't it - what building is that?
lovely over view of the city, looks great

    Hi Pavle
thanks for the WS photos too, they help to put everything into perspective for us.

Sliema is the part of the city where we stayed in our hotel :)
and as your title suggests we certainly get to see the visual contrasts of the city life here.

    Hi Abmdsudi
hmmmm....Benny pointed out some interesting features about the colors on the man's face, as did Gert.
I admire them for saying such.
now that I look at it as well, it does look a bit OFF.
But as Gert pointed out, is it the man's complexion or is it because of post processing?
nevertheless, I really DO enjoy the composition and cropping. The man has such a strong impact from a visual standpoint in the frame, its quite powerful, and even emotional. and for that reason the photo is a success.
Looking at him, we can't help but feel for him with empathy.
when you do that as a photographer, you have certainly won over your audience. well done
    cheers

first of all, congrats on reaching 100,000 points! thats a huge milestone :)

there are a few things which standout for me.
the clock is an excellent addition and its so small :)

and I like how the stone is aged and in need of repair.

no tripod? I hardly leave home without it :)
promenades are great aren't they, I think every city should have one, they make for a wonderful meeting place for locals and tourists.

so can you tour the Castle Tower? can you see what the old Prison looked like? I'd love to see it. I'm trying to imagine what it would have been like to be inside with the conditions back then. Oh how times have changed.
wonderful shot with the movements and blurring of the people and trees.

looks like a giant snake has shed its skin and its now all wet and stuck to the rocks, that's pretty awesome indeed.
is this a long exposure shot? can't tell because the stupid TE site won't allow us to show our camera settings anymore.

glad to see all the wires and such too - sometimes photographers will photo shop them out, but thats not real.

now you see, this is just awesome. I knew exactly where this photo is taken because I WAS HERE :)
I can recognize the old Cathedral walls in the bg.
and yes, you know I have to ask...did you pay? lol

not sure if its the WS you did or what, but excellent job in bringing out the blues in their eyes, thats brilliant.

a couple of things catch my attention right away, the umbrella, the hat, and the eye goggles, love it.
super crisp and clear shot once again John, looks like the weather was excellent too.

    Hi Malgo
haha...i noticed in your WS photo the Polish Beer, that was good, i liked it alot, and i'm not a huge beer-guy.
this photo will surely stand out in your gallery page, I think simply because of the bright color arrangement and the bright lighting. It POPS loudly.

and of course it has that dramatic height working for it aswell. Clearly I missed out on this Castle when I visited Poland. Cheers
