    Hello Neyvan,

I have found through trial and error that using the sports section of my digital camera will freeze a moving fg or subject to give a sharper image than a landscape setting. The 3 jetboats at right enliven the scene but are unsharp. You could also go the other way and use a higher fstop with a longer exposure time so that they become motion blurred streaks of color. The bg city makes a superb backdrop. Tfs!

    Ciao Piotr

Superb sharpness and a good tonal range in this wonderful b&w image of the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Zakopane. I like the wedding cake like tiers in the church. Good exposure on the white snowy highlights with effective tight framing. Nice graphism of the dark cross against the lighter sky. Tfs!

    Hello Carlo,

Perfect symmetrical reflections in the mirror like surface of the placid water. You were lucky to strike a day with little or no wind. Good sharpness and excellent density levels and saturation. Good lighting contrasts and I like the warm cold color contrasts between the yellow green weed on the pylons and the reflected blue skylight within the water. Tfs!

    Hello Ana,

Looks like Girraween near Stanthorpe in eastern Australia. The balancing granite rock makes a fine focal point. And you are well off in winter. Here in Moldova it is bleak, 0c, cold, and all the trees look dead and bare. The cork trees add a welcome splash of greenery and are of interest in their own right. Usually I only see olive tree groves around southern Europe. Tfs!

    Hello Craig

Like you, I am a fan of extreme wide angled shots, and I do not particularly care if the buildings at both far right and far left are leaning inwards or outwards, as long as the central verticals are at right angles and the horizon is straight as they are here. The bg cityscape looks like Melbourne in Australia. Good sharpness and great to see the people enjoying a game of beach volleyball on the beach side shores of Lake Michigan. Tfs!

    Hello Pierre,

The red and cyan colors of the unusual Catalina aircraft are perfect complimentary opposites. Good sharpness and a soft diffused light with no hard shadows. I might have cropped some of the white featureless sky for a more wide-angled view but this is fine as is. Excellent saturation and framing. Tfs!

    Hello Wolfgang,

Missed this one. I like the horse at left in the bottom corner of the frame. It adds life to the cold and desolate looking winter scene covered in snow. The bg cattle in the stall are only just visible and enhance the effect. Good sharpness and a fine exposure on the white highlights of the snow. Tfs!

    Hello Danos!

I only got to visit 3 of the 6 surviving Meteora monasteries so am saving the other 3 for another visit. Will get a taxi up there next time. Did not see a single public bus despite assurances that they went every hour. This looks like the first monastery at the bottom of the hill which I did visit. Good sharpness and amazing location and landscape of the buildings perched atop the granite rocks. Tfs!

    Hi Mesut

Religion is often very dominant and important in the lives of most human beings. And one way to express it is through art, although at various times in the past, especially during the Reformation period, clerics argued that it was the imagery and the statues being worshiped, and not God himself, & that this was akin to idolatry. Sadly many cathedrals around Europe were ransacked of all statues and artwork, so it is good to see that some of it survived. I might have to visit this church when I am in Bucharest in February. Tfs!

    Ciao Silvio,

Excellent sharpness and a fine angled pov on the old stone building at left showing a 2 rather than 1 dimensional aspect. I like the minimalist colours and diffused lighting. The bg village with its tightly clustered houses and the dominant belltower poking well above the town make a fine backdrop. Tfs!

I like the right angled pov on the tower which is perfectly positioned at the 90 degree mark. It red roof and the orange red roof of the adjoining low rise building at right create a fine warm cold color contrast against the bg blue sky. Good sharpness and saturation with effective tight framing. Tfs!

    Hello Asa,

Missed this one. The angled pov of the fg fence, sidewalk and street add superb dynamism and diminishing linear perspective going from bottom left to top right. Good sharpness and density levels that have given crisp clean whites and solid blacks. As well as ideal saturation and punchy light contrasts. Orange Hall is a bit of a misnomer when its exterior is white. Perhaps that was the original color? Anyway tfs!

A superb Serbian street scene with flawless sharpness and excellent colour and saturation. It's been a long time since I have had quiche Lorraine and it's interesting to see something of the town where it presumably originated. Hi Neyvan,

Good post from a city rarely seen on Trek Earth. Love the greenery of the trees. Looks similar at a superficial level to many European and American cities. Good sharpness and saturation. Clean streets and clean cars. I haven't seen any cars in Moldova that weren't covered in mud. Good perspective and the bg tower makes a fine focal point.

    Salut Philippe

It looks like a portable British telephone booth only in brown rather than red! Excellent sharpness and I like the angled pov. I guess that back then the wealthy were either lazy or had physical disabilities that made it difficult or even impossible to walk up and down stairs. Or maybe they were aloof and did not want any physical contact with commoners? A good reminder of the habits of the aristocracy in days gone by. Well framed and composed. Tfs!

I visited this Egyptian obelisk and was surprised to learn it is thousands of years old and a genuine article from Alexandria. Nice reflections in the wet pavement. The colourfully attired people add life and scale. A difficult shot to get in the rain. I always worry about my camera rusting, so use plastic bags and umbrellas a lot. Good sharpness and saturation. Ciao Angel,

A good exposure on the white highlights, with excellent sharpness and good lead in lines and diminishing linear perspective afforded by the dual sides of the narrow alley. I like the repetition of the red clay flower pots! The upward, uphill pov adds interest. The street lamp suspended from the wall adds interest. A pleasant diffused light. Tfs!
