    Hello Serge,
I've been enjoying your NYC photos, but I picked a Canadian one to critique. :-) I really like the blue light, and the patterns on the ground. With the longer exposure we get some ghostly people walking by, which is always nice. :-) Colorful night photos are fun to take, and to look at.

    Hello Jean,
The Blue Lagoon is such a magical place. So far I have only seen it through TE photos, and it's nice to see it again. The color of the water is so unique, and it looks great against the stark white and gray landscape that surrounds it. I've seen lot of photos with people enjoying a dip in the water, but this view with no people has a special feeling to it. It seems like you've found a hidden planet where nobody lives. Really we know that there are lots of people close by. :-)

    Hello Paul,
I was lucky enough during my two trips to Japan to actually stay with four different families in their homes. One house looked very much like the one in your photo. I ate at the same kind of table, and slept on a futon over a tatami mat. They even had a similar garden. It's great to see this traditional interior once again, with the added bonus of the colorful fabrics hanging in the middle. I do miss Japan...

    Hello Daniel,
I like the mirrored stairs, but what I like even more is that we only see the view above the stairs through the reflection in the water below. There is a nice balance have two sets of stairs on either side, each one forming an incomplete triangle together with its reflection.

    Hello Bev,
A llama's cute face definitely puts a smile on mine. :-) This fellow seems interested in posing, but how can he see with so much fur over his eyes?! :-) This is a great llama portrait, with perfect sharpness, and I like the softly-blurred activity of the children in the background.

    Hello Bev,
The architecture here is lovely, and I like the curve of the facade. I especially like the stones that are in the foreground. They are close enough to examine the color and texture. The crop you were forced to choose really does work well, too. It seems that there's a broken window in the center, but that just adds more character to this building. :-)

    Hello Gert,
It definitely is a much smaller world these days, with cultures mixing and creating nice surprises like this one. That couple is standing in just the right spot for a nice composition. :-) Here in NYC it's no surprise to find Chinese owners of a Mexican taco restaurant, or Mexican owners of an Italian pizzeria. I wonder if the owners of this restaurant are actually Asian. I like the strong colors, and the pictures of all the dishes.

    Hello Stephane,
What a beautiful explosion of color. The exposure of these wonderful windows is perfect. I know it can be hard to photograph windows in such a dark interior. I like your POV looking up, and the small bit of golden light that is illuminating some of the details. Very nice! :-)

    Ciao Silvio,
This is definitely a photograph, poetry, and an impressionist painting all combined together. It's beautiful! The placement of the two people in the frame, the way the girl's dress is flying up at the hem, the rolling pattern in the field - it is all magical. I think you did a great job capturing the feeling of this place.

Cool windows. :-) I like when architecture includes something a bit different and unexpected. Your vertical presentation and the blue color are very nice. I think designers should have more fun with windows when creating a new building. :-)

    Hello Frank,
This photo, and Allan, have a lot of character. If the location didn't specify that it was taken in Denmark, I'd think it was captured along Route 66 here in the USA. There is a lot of US car memorabilia here! The somewhat dainty cup and bowl in front of Allan are nice touches, and I like the orange color of the wall. It's something different and interesting.

    Hello Ana,
Interesting POV in this photo. It seems like we are also in that long line of people and animals. I like the lighting, and the way we can see some dust being kicked up into the air. It looks like some of the animals have something on top of them - a kind of decoration maybe? I can imagine it wasn't a very comfortable walk, but you did get a lovely photo. :-)

Very interesting effect created by the crashing waves. I can see the force of them running down the rocks. I like the hill in the background, and the horizontal line of low clouds that seem to touch the water, too. The sound of the waves must be soothing, like a white noise machine. :-)

    Hello Bulent,
Nice capture of the little girl wandering past the mystery musician. I like the black background, and the man's costume. I see figures like this a lot here in NYC, but never dressed as classical musicians; they are usually the Statue of Liberty or a ballerina. :-) I hope all is well with you and Carol Jean.

    Hello Noel,
I like this sweet photo with a lovely sentiment. The photos of the children are precious, and it's nice to see a bit of the castle in the background. I agree about the concrete bases, though. I'm sure they could have created something that blended a bit more with the surroundings and didn't stand out so much. I also like the WS view.

Very magical lighting in this photo. It seems like the sun is shining especially on the small houses, causing a band of illumination that runs horizontally across the frame. I like the darkened mountain in the background, and the water in the foreground, too.

    Hello Craig,
I really like the blue color here, and thankfully this particular dog is resting peacefully. My heart always aches for any animal that is being neglected or abused. My sister is a vet, and I've rescued many feral cats over the years. Your note definitely resonates with me.
