The brown bird is an inmature little blue heron or redish egret. Size may indicate the former, however, geography would be a helpful way to make a desition as each bird may have a distribution that can help with the ID.

I played with the pict in Photo Shop and applyed the 3 1/4 tecnique to get the birds off the center on the photograph. I hope you like the idea. I amposting the pict at the workshop.

Great picture of the hummer. I imagine that you used some pict correcting software a there are some un-natural edging on the whit flowers and the back of the bird. If you did, try to use the transcition tool (in Photoshop) to mend this. It works after yu use USM and you can find it under the edit menu.

Great capture! It almost looks like a scene from the day after.

Hola Sergio:

¿Cómo estás? Me alegro que te gustaran mis imágenes y con mucho gusto voy a realizarle alguna críticas a tus fotos para enseñarte a hacerlas mejor.

La flor ave del paraíso la captaste muy bien sin embargo esta un poco fuera de foco y quizás haz podido resolver esto después usando programas como Photoshop. La foto esta en contra luzlo que permite resaltar las partes transparentes de la flor, sin embargo las tonalidades medias y las sombras son sacrificadas al buscar este efecto. Una cosa que puedes hacer es usar el flash de relleno (fill in flash) para que te alumbre estas partes. Esto no funciona en automático pero si tu cámara te lo permite te aseguro te va a encantar el resultado. Como el ave del paraíso no se va a mover del lugar vuelve a la misma hora y trata de hacer la misma foto otra vez. Volver al mismo sitio es una práctica que yo hago para aprender el juego de la luz y es la mejor manera de aprender a usarla...recuerda foto-grafía es igual a pintar con luz!!!.

Thank you for visiting my gallery. I am visiting yours and hopefully I can contribute with your knowledge by working on some of your photographs.

This one of the fields was a good one to start. When we are taking pictures , we can be in a hurry and not notice the horizon. This happened to your composition. If you looked well into the viewfinder you could have seen that the horizon was not leveled. I use a tripod as much as I can and it has levers which tell me if the horizon is straight. Try to take your time for a comoposition and you will see the changes.

You may rotate the picture in Photoshop or any other editor as some of our friends have pointed out but that is a post photo technique that at times cannot overcome the original.

Thank you for stopping by Venezuela. Your composition was very eye catching. The combination of colours are great. I would work it a little in PS to cut the face right from the middle and add a further visual impact on your subject.

I can tell the light is coming from the right of the subjec, left of the photographer, thus making a shadow upon your subjects face. This could be prevented with a fill in flash that the D70 has, or by using PS dodge tool. If you like I would love to show you how to attain this and contribute to your skills with a little bit of knowledge.

La foto esta casi en silueta por tener el sol flanqueando la iglesia. Tendrías que escoger un mejor momento para tomar la foto o trabajarla con PS a ver como sale si le dás más luz a la fachada.

Otra cosa que podias hacer es ponerte totalmente frente al sol para solo tomar la silueta de la parte de enfrente de la iglesia o esperar a que bajara el sol que estaba casi senital para que fuera más pareja la luz.
