    Hi Lisa
Head on with a lion! that's a great under water image with this super snap of opportunity I've never seen this close. Fascinating experience and being able to dive and swim with this gentle creature, and to capture a good image is a huge bonus. It's very well exposed with wonderful detail and colour, and your point of sharpest focus is spot on with crisp detail. Very cool stuff, remarkable shot. Congrats

    Hi Craig
Some street photography rings a bell!! & lots to keep you interested in this one. I love this much more than your first upload due to its closeness and more intimacy between the two performers and reading notes i guess that he is doing a roaring trade! This shot also makes me cringe just looking at his head and the barber with cut throat razor in action! but the chap looks resigned to it - and that the mutual trust hoping the barber has good and steady hands. It's more or less how I visualised the shot. I really love the tones, exposure just spot on and the contrasts in colour are superb. This is an excellent photo journalism depicting just part of the everyday street life, a vivid insight into the diversity & culture has on offer. Prefer to do me shaving myself! Wonderful shot. Bravo, Congrats.

Namaste Angshuman. You are enticing me to visit Uzbekistan with this jewel of a photo. The tiles remind me so much of Iranian mosques, but then the Uzbeks did invade parts of Iran, although i don't know who influenced whom but I would guess that the Persians had a great cultural influence in the larger region of Central Asia, even influencing the Mughal art of India. Anyway, top shot. Regards. Klaudio.

Salam Abmdsudi. I must tell you that if I focus on just that eye, it makes me uncomfortable for there is a disturbing coldness in that gaze. Having said that the wonderful colours of her attire and the cute nature of the child negate the initial slight shiver that i experienced as if a curse came my way. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Noel. Child or no child, it is a powerful image and your reading of it gives it current meaning. Yes, I see what you are saying. in Australia, a land where many of the descendants are of Irish stock and others of Southern and Central European, people who with those of Vietnamese and other Asian backgrounds, should sympathise with and speak for the refugees, we have SILENCE when children are held behind barbed wire in the desert. You mention many reasons for the indifference in Europe (and Australia) and do touch on xenophobia, but I am not going to beat about the bush, I will call it racism from which comes hatred and indifference and the view that a life of one of THEM is less important and as for their aspirations, dreams, hopes- all of these can be dismissed as being inferior to ours. In Australia the news do not give us human interest stories on refugees, we do not see their faces, their tears, their despair- we lump them together as people who break rules, who jump queues and hence who are not desirable to live amongst us.
My forefathers fled Albania, fleeing Ottoman persecution when they refused to convert, they depend don the generosity of the Venetian Republic and settled far north in Dalmatia, generations later my family became refugees from Communism in Yugoslavia, first in France, then Italy before we ended up at the bottom of the globe. This country is made up mainly from people who fled or who were forced to come here, yet our foreign minister is proud to announce that she will, if asked, give advice to Europe on how to protect its borders! Say no more.
