    Hi Murat
This is certainly an excellent approach with great attention to detail in low light capturing a moment full of religious ambient and renders a sense of calm. it's the glow of soft warm light that does it, attracting the eyes straight away into the picture. Putting religious feelings and beliefs to one side, this is a heart warming image but full of serene atmosphere and above all lots of content to look at and strong in its effect. A delightful image well shot, Congrats, TFS

    Hello again Rosemary,

The contrast between the brightly coloured houses and the rocks are so striking! Its good that you mentioned the Geology of why the strata are near vertical here...we see the same in the Himalayas in India as the Asian plate continues to push the Eurasian plate northwards...

Your POV from below allows us to move up the slope and the polarised blue sky is quite fantastic as well...

    Excellent work!

    Best Regards

    Hello Rosemary.
Before I started to comment, I read with interest John's comment on this picture and also one by Craig..

Indeed comparing the two pictures is an example of how two artists can see the same place differently....the beauty and art of photography and photographic eye.
While vertical framing is quite a surprise, maybe because of the arc of the houses below hugging the frame, what it certainly adds is the FG...the flowers are beautiful and add a totally different dimension to this picture.

It does appear that you took this shot with the sun quite high in the horizon as I observe from the shadows below.....the exif says 9:30 morning though!

Wonderful shot Rosemary and thanks for sharing

    Best Regards
    Angshu

    Hi Roger
I really like the simplicity of this full framed shot, I adore the cool soothing colours full of subtle detail in this and great how the inverted cups further adds to the already beautiful edifice and nothing to distract which has set off the subject even stronger. Extremely eye catching shot, Great lens work, Congrats

A fine composition. Beaut architecture of a fine looking church, lovely tones, clarity and colour with subtle detail in this shot and the processing has dealt with the high contrasts really well, and lively people's participation is a real bonus as vital element. Interesting foreword supported by a great image, Superb lens work and TFS.

Wow, what an incredible scale by looking at the tiny Gompa and the dwellings, indeed an extensive wide view of rugged landscape with mass of detail and textures seen from this vantage point. Gorgeous colours, contrast to blue sky with nice shades and shadows lend this to so such an awesome capture with lovely touch of whites to finishes off so smoothly. Simply gorgeous image and a pleasure to behold. Fabs, TFS

    Hi Lisa
well, i'm not even going to TRY to compete with Klaudio's critique, its well written and certainly memorable.

I have a question...how long are these scum politicians in power for? Here in Canada the Party can hold power for only 4 years, then there has to be another re-election, what about in Australia?

Lets hope the people can vote them OUT asap.

Whats so surprising is how big business and some media types follow the current regime. I guess money talks, how sad is that.

In my honest opinion the recent "WIN" you mentioned about keeping the Barrier Reef listed as a UNESCO sight was 100% planned by your government.

Its the CLASSIC Bait and Switch technique.

I seriously think the government KNEW they wouldn't win that case, but went after it to give the people a win in the battle to shut them up - sort of speak.

knowing full well, the governments first priority was that mining deal - that was their PRIMARY target from the get go.

So they were thinking lets give the people a small win, but we will win the war, classic bait and switch.

Perhaps they think it will give the people some satisfaction in that they succeeded in keeping the sight a Unesco sight, but the government didn't give a rats ass in the first place. They now have what they were after.

Lets hope mother nature finds a way to win out in the end. Mother nature almost always finds a way.

I appreciate and admire your passion, dedication and ethics, i really do.

    GO Mother Nature!!

    Hi Chris
Oh man, this is one every photographers to-shoot-list, or at least you would think it is, I know its on mine.

I know the Castle has been renovated time and time again to maintain it, but i wonder how it looked on its VERY FIRST day of completion many many years ago.

what a stunning scene with the lush greens all along the bottom and the hills behind.

    Lucky you :)
    wonderful darkened light and exposure.

    Hi Malgo
so you had another TE meeting, thats incredible Malgo!
you seem to meet more people than anyone, and thats a compliment!!

love the top half of this photo, the banner looks great up there and it seems to actually widen the frame even though we know it doesn't. Its one of those optical illusions i guess.

super clear and sharp scene, really enjoy it.
    have a wonderful day

    Hi Ray
I know a couple of TE members who will really enjoy this one. Capitol State buildings seem to be a theme that is growing in popularity to photograph state by state.

I've never seen this one before, looks similar to the Empire State Building, but far less dominant and tall!

It'd be sweet to see some indoor shots as well.
thanks for this interesting post, probably a new one for TE in this location.
