    Hello Pavle,
This is a fine photo of the fisherman standing by the narrow river, surrounded by green banks and flowing under the bridge. The nice sky is beautifully reflected in the water. The photo is slightly dark but the colours are beautiful.

    Hello Bev,
It was nice of you to make this reference to me, but I have to say that I was not the one to introduce people in photos. It was done some 150 years ago ;-).
But of course I like this photo, not just because there are lots of people and colours to enjoy, but for the bird's eye view which I also love. So many city views look surprisingly different when seen from straight above. In this photo I also like the green frames at the top and bottom of the composition.
The situation in Britain these days has shocked and bewildered the entire continent. I get a feeling even Boris J is somewhat taken aback by what he has done through his vulgar and simplified mumbo jumbo. Having him as the next PM, Trump as President of the USA and Le Pen as the president of France is a nightmare that could come true. It's already bad enough with people like Putin, Erdogan and Orbán.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Malgo,
Minsk doesn't have a reputation for being a beautiful city, but this place looks quite nice, not much different from what I could have expected to see in Vilnius. It would have been quite colourful even without the balloons. The three photos are all attractive but you made a correct decision to use this as the main upload.

    Hello Lars,
Today heavy autumn rain started falling in Stockholm already in the morning ;-).
Whatever reflections could be found anywhere would not look as nice as these. They are just slightly distorted to have a superb, impressionistic effect, and those who know this area well will certainly recognize the buildings. The light is quite fantastic.

    Hello Rob,
Your photos from museums always amuse and attract me. Here is an interesting painting and an interesting behavior among the visitors. It's probably quite typical that it's the girls/women who care about the art. The presence of the umbrella is almost more mysterious than the meaning of the painting. How on earth could the guards at a museum like that miss it? I was almost thrown out of the Guggenheim for eating an apple at a very safe distance from anything valuable.
    Best regards,

    Hello Luciano,
A fine view of the impressive inside of the dome and the surrounding vaults. The light is beautifully managed, so we get a very good view of the paintings and gilded details. It's a perfectly straight and balanced and excellently cropped photo.

A nice view from Gamla stan with fine colours and good depth. The people having their meal in the street create a good atmosphere but I even more like the look of the woman with her children to the left.

    Hello Paul,
Three fine photos of which I prefer this one as the best and most appealing composition. It's not just thanks to the persons, but they certainly add an important ingredient in my mind. It's also the street leading me towards the wall before disappearing behind the bend. Clarity and sharpness are equally good in all photos and the workshops provide important further information.

Maybe this meagre thing is what remains of the poor British workers after the people from eastern Europe have taken all their jobs and their bread. (Or at least that is what they believe.)

    Hello Chris,
This composition of a part of a giant hand in front of the ancient ruins makes me think of a Surrealist painting. Salvador Dali, maybe? It's a fine photo with superb colours, and it's good to see some of Amman in the background. It was a city I found much more interesting and appealing than I had expected.

    Hello Carlo,
The style of the façade, by the sunny street with just a few people, makes me think of the Wild West ;-). But this is much more interesting with its literary connection and it's an excellent photo from a good angle with fine light and colours. I didn't read the novel but I saw the movie with Burt Lancaster.

    Hello Chris,
I remember spending hours walking quite long and steep distances in the heat, but I don't remember whether I saw this place. It's already more than 20 years ago. Even maybe without this, Petra was one of my greatest travel experiences ever, offering stunning sights and many photo opportunities like this one, where you nicely used the cave entrance as a natural frame. You managed perfect exposure inside and outside in the strong sun.
    Kind regards,

    Hello Pierre,
A very nice and even touching photo of the swan and her baby. Maybe there are more of them we can't see from here. They are beautiful birds but sometimes rather aggressive, so maybe you were lucky that she wasn't too protective of her children. It's a lovely composition with very good colours.

    Hello John,
I wish you a speedy recovery from the shock of yesterday ;-). I think the British people (or actually about one third of them) made a huge mistake. In spite of the bureaucracy and some lack of transparency in the EU machinery we are really stronger united than each one on his own. I think Mr Cameron will go down in history in a way he didn't expect. Watch out for PM Johnson. :-(
(We may get an even greater shock on November 8.)
Now then, this is a very good photo. As you well know I love the combination of "sights" and people participating one way or another. We can all enjoy the fine decorations of this huge chamber, and personally I love to watch the people and their reactions (and sometimes lack of). I believe Rob made a correct point about the man in the middle being rather bored, just waiting for his wife to get ready.
As always a photo of great quality.
    Kind regards,
    Gert
