Amazing capture from Nepal. Those birdfeeders are also quite common here in İstanbul.

    Hello Will,

    This is amazing!
Have you done this without any photo-shopping?
    If so, I applaud you!
It is so dramatic: the ruined church, the dark night split by the jagged lightning, the illumination of the interior wall, the ghostly backlit turret! Oh, I could go on and on!
This b&w photograph just leapt off the monitor ... it really is ghostly!!

I think this will create lots of interest!

Have a great w/e and thanks for this,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Craig,

What you have shown us, here, emphasised by your notes, is the relaxed, laid back way of life. This guy just has to photographed. He is challenging you to do it, in the most friendly way.
It's a good composition, the man taking focal attention but with lots of information about his context. I just love that he's smoking a cigar. This would be a good advert for Cuban Cigars.

    Have a lovely w/e,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Mariusz,

I was overwhelmed, in places, by the beauty of Kos.

Besides your beautiful postcard, you will have tingling memories of the warmth, the sights and the people. These things are difficult to portray in a photograph. However, this is a lovely scene. It is well composed, the island rocks sitting nicely on the thirds line. with good leads from the bottom corner. Your pp work has in no way compromised your photograph, it has enhanced it more to your high standards.

    Have a good w/e,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ike,

It is so pleasing to read about areas that have been improved for the benefit of wild life as well as being a good, visual amenity for us. To see this, in close proximity to a town, is delightful
I like how you have guided us, via the tiny water inlet, through the long grasses and by the well placed tree, to the pond. It is winter, so wouldn't expect to see lots of vivid colours, but what we see is right for the time of year. The pond reflections, whilst being artistic, also compound the sense of 'countryside'.

    Have a great w/e,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Stephen,

THis is a classy row of houses. It is very 'British' reminding me of houses in London, with their dressed stones, pillars and ornate railings.
It's a fine composition, the converging lines and diminishing features creating an excellent sense of perspective.
The vanishing point reveals much more 'modern' buildings, a strong contrast with the these elegant beauties!

    Have a great w/e,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Chris,

    This is one spectacular building!
In terms of what I understand, this looks more like a very beautiful, sumptuous palace than a castle, castles being more austere because of their need to protect the occupants. However, I think this must be a kinder place in which to live!
You have given us excellent details and I do like how the sculpture on the fountain is standing proud of the castle, against that amazing sky!
The figure to the left, just on the edge of the shadow, adds a mood, as she/he appears to be standing back, surveying the building with a sense of amazement!

    Hello Jorge,

History has taught us a lot of useful lessons, what a pity we don't always learn from them!

This is a very strong photograph, no distractions, just the memorial, tall, simple isolated against the rugged majesty of the mountain.

    Have a good w/e,

I couldn't understand the link to Whitney until I read your note. I had no idea this was the tallest mountain in USA. Another interesting fact learned! Thanks!

    Hello Agnieszka,

The woman makes a very strong image against this relatively barren landscape. Her clothes match so well with the b/g.
My suggestion would be to place the woman more to the left of the frame so that she is walking into, rather than out of, the shot.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ely,

You positioned yourself well when taking this photograph, so that the bollards make irresistible guides towards the activity and the attractive timber-framed houses. The scene is very nicely cropped to fit the frame, an excellent example of fine composition.
I like how you have also captured the busy, social life of the town, and its vibrant colours. A must for tourists and photographers alike!

    Hello Federico,

Oh, you must have been entranced watching these birds strut around in their natural environment. You have used a fine dof, the f/g sharp and gradually blurring into the b/g, so that we get details of the birds and an understanding of their environment.
    The light is beautiful.

    Cia Caro Silvio,

I suspect, like me, that you love to photograph trees, particularly winter ones, when their proud structure can be more easily appreciated. This is an absolute beauty, its limbs seeming to stretch the edges of the frame. It's a fine contre jour, and the forward shadows can be appreciated on the useful, guiding road.

An interesting introduction has whetted our appetites to know more about this interesting old fort. You have illustrated the approach with a fine shot, glowing with colour and creating an excellent sense of perspective as we move through the diminishing arches to the focal leaded window.
