    Ciao caro Silvio,

I like this style of photograph, where there is a strong feature in the f/g to give depth to the interesting scenery that is beyond. The dappled light is lovely helping to generate textures.
What a great scene we are treated to in the distance.

    Best wishes,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Sven,

It would be nice to see more old cars, like this, on the roads, then there would be much more variety as well as nostalgia!
You have picked a good viewpoint to gain a sense of character from this old beauty. Your shallow dof captures the details crisply, whilst keeping an interesting but unobtrusive b/g.
The car has certainly caught the attention of the figure on the left!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

Ha! Ha! Ourania, it looks like a fluffy, flying carpet, which has designs on that yacht.
    Well seen and well exposed!
The blue sky and sea looks appealing, particularly as we are experiencing clouds and much cooler weather, today!

What is in the water to the left?
Is it the head of someone swimming?

    Hello Ike,

Lovely details of the illuminated features in Tel Aviv.
I really like how you have filled the f/g with the wheel and the tower; they appear like some magical shield and sword, against the backdrop of the spectating skyscrapers!

    Have a great Sunday,

Ha! Ha! Luciano, here we go again, another drenching!
This is a mighty waterfall and your photograph accentuates its magnificence by including the misty spume and the size of the figures, against its dramatic height.
A very well composed photograph with adheres to compositional rules.

    Hello John,

I wish everyone would heed our message and view photographs on Beta; they are definitely sharper and a much more rewarding experience. Unfortunately some people make their photographs too big to be seen which is a pity!

The make-up is garish but it was obviously a way of gaining immediate attention.
You have taken an excellent portrait of her, a photograph which is both well composed and has crisp details of her features.
I like how you have included a reference to 'The Fringe'. The message is not obtrusive but does add an extra message, even without your notes.

    Have a great Sunday,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Rob,

I just had to laugh at the irony of 'the city that never sleeps', sporting a snoring figure it its most famous square!
    What a coup!
And what a very well composed, exceptionally well exposed photograph.

    Thanks for the humour,

    Hello Stephen,

As much as the pretty German square, I just love the atmosphere that you have relayed.
It looks to be teeming with people, all eager to enjoy the warm September weather.
It is bright, it is colourful, has fine details and really draws us in.

    Hello Barbara,

It seems quite a while since I saw you posting.
    Welcome back!

This is a very well exposed photograph which clearly shows the magnificence of the mountains, their rocky peaks, grassy slopes and snowy niches.
The path makes a good guide to the well placed heights.
Certainly one for the fit and the brave!

    Hello Malgo,

I love how you have divided the frame with the rim of the fountain. It makes a most interesting separation line between the reality of the buildings and their reflections, imposed upon a tiled grid system. The clarity is exceptional and makes it a joy to peruse.

    Hello Craig,

Seeing the w/s, which seems to show a wider view of the gen, makes me realise the importance of that boulder; it is critical in drawing the eye into the scene and creating an impressive sense of depth. It, also, seems to link with the thread of the road, a excellent guide to the valley entrance.
The range of green hues is lovely and says much about the area.
Scotland is a treasure trove of spectacular scenery. I just love to witness you taking such great scenic shots and waxing lyrical about them. A few years ago, you would only really consider buildings! Ha! Ha! How times change!

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Giovanni,

There is definitely an illusion here, where the clouds appear to give the mountains an even larger, snow topping!
This is a lovely study of the grasslands, the trees and the distant mountains, a nature lover's paradise.

    Ciao caro Carlo,

    Ciao caro Silvio,

    This swallowtail is beautiful!
Your shallow dof has captured the attractive markings on its wings very clearly against an oof but useful b/g. It's like a dancer, with arms fully extended to show off the beautiful pattern of the costume!
I haven't seen one of these since I was in Nice, where they were quite abundant on the garden flowers.

    Hello Serge,

A fine shot incorporates the boat, the weathered layers of rock and the red lighthouse.
They link together very well in a natural diagonal.
We really get an impression of the swell on the water from the waves in the f/g of the shot.

    Hello Erling,

I have to say, well seen.
Not everyone would have recognised this as a possible pleasing photograph but the lamp, its shadow and the textured wall make a good combination.

I hope you don't mind but I have offered a w/s as a possible change to your composition.
I always like figures and features to be facing into a shot rather than out of it.
    I hope you like it.

    Hello Brenda,

They certainly aren't giving you any eye contact!
Their costumes suggest that they want to be noticed and their bells would make people hear them even if they weren't looking!
Like you, I think they are a bit weird!

It's a good, angled shot under very difficult lighting conditions.
There must have been a temptation to crop the steps but then you would have lost the other couple, so important to the sense of depth.

    Wow! I love this!
I love how the wooden posts stand broken but defiant on the rocky shore and lead the eye quickly to the castle.
