    Hello dear Carlo,

You have chosen an excellent viewpoint with the trees in the f/g creating a great sense of depth to the promontory of Cefalu. The town, its houses huddled in a friendly cluster, looks to be built right out into the sea!
It's a fine postcard emphasising the town's location and the azure sea surrounding it!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Ciao cara Lisa,

Standing stones certainly create a 'feeling'!
I have visited many such sites but never late at night!
I can imagine that it was quite eerie.
I love how you have been able to include the moon in the photograph - and it looks suitably hazy!

Can you explain what you mean by light-painting?
It is a completely new term to me.

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Kari,

    I'm glad I didn't miss this one!
The warm, sunset colours have bathed the whole scene.
I particularly love how it has affected the wet sand.
The silhouetted features and people make great statements in the photograph.

    Ciao caro Silvio,

Your neighbourhood is an ecologists or a botanists paradise!
There are wild flower habitats in every direction!
I love how you have composed this scene, using a great dof to emphasise the changes in colours.

    Bonjour Serge,

From your wonderful vantage point, the sands stretch away to the distant horizon!
It's remarkable when you see how tiny the people are! They are no more than specks and emphasise just how vast this stretch of sand is! It looks even better on Beta!
    The cloud shadows are amazing!
    What a truly remarkable shot!

    Hello Gyorgy,

I see you used Silver FX, it is a good programme and one that I should return to!

40C ... I cannot imagine venturing outside in such a temperature! It would feel like a furnace! I'm certain the tar, which surfaces our roads, would begin to bubble and melt under such heat!

You have positioned yourself well to get the best use from the lines of the converging tracks, whilst the cyclist is well positioned as the main, focal point.
What is emerging from the upper windows?
Is it steam or lens flare from your camera?

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
1 or 2 beers were definitely earned on this day!
Those people sheltering under the canvas, with cold drinks, have more sense than the cyclist!

    Hello Paul,

    What an amazing scene!
The flowers are so very well painted that they look like a continuous mat, not one interrupted by steps!
You have positioned yourself perfectly to get the maximum effect, to use the buildings as a funnel and to have a couple descending the steps!

I would imagine that the steps would have been dangerous to negotiate had their surfaces been covered with the design.

Thank you for sharing this most unusual art,
    Bev :-)

    What a delightful shot.
It is always a treat to see a mother caring for her young in such a protective way.

    Ciao caro Luciano,

    This is extraordinary!
    Forty metres below the city!
You are right, a trip into the past!
I love your viewpoint, using the repeating arches so effectively to give depth and perspective. There is plenty of time to absorb the patterns and textures on the walls and arches, whilst the lone figure supplies a terminal focal point.

    Bonjour Nicolas,

You have included much in this photograph: hills and fields, small and large buildings, sunshine and shadows.
I like your composition, which uses the rule of thirds so cleverly, one third in shadows, two thirds in sunshine. The long shadows, which appear in the sunlit areas, define the relief of the slopes and give mood to the photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

I used to have a painting on my bedroom wall (when I was a child) which was very much like this scene, so your photograph brought back happy memories! I like that you have captured the horse drinking, not just standing around, as they often do! You have to be there at the right time to catch a scene like this.
Lovely colours and good light management.

    Hello Dear Constantino,

I like reflections and your photograph shows them in a colourful and well composed way.
Your well considered crop has the prows of the boats neatly positioned in a diagonal line, across the frame, sharply exposed. Their reflections follow a similar line but now resemble the work of an Impressionist painter!

    Hello Ike,

The ground floor makes a most attractive scene, with its colourful display of clothes and bright blue canopy. Further interest is added by the inclusion of the figures, so different in appearance and adding a possible scenario.
I was surprised to see the condition of the first floor! I wonder if it has been abandoned because of the instability of the building! Otherwise, the balconies look great places to reside on a warm summer's evening!

    Have a good day,

    Hello Gert,

    What interesting notes.
How pleasing that such traditions of family celebrations remain as part of the country's festivities. Sadly, you can't order good weather at will.
There is a real undercurrent of discontent and lack of respect, that some people resort to violence. Sadly it occurs in many countries!
I presume you spoke to the two men, diligently clearing the site, to know their b/g. It harped back to scenes that I have seen from underdeveloped countries, where families scrape a living from collecting 'rubbish'. Did they seem proud of their endeavours or demeaned by the work? If they make a decent living, it will be all to the good!

An interesting photograph to accompany your notes. Initially, I thought they were waiting for the opening of some outdoor theatre!

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Danos,

I don't think I have ever seen such an interesting link line, between two areas, before on TE! It zig zags across and up the steep slope, on an oscillating line!

    Bonjour Christiane,

    I really like this!
The decision to use patriotic red/white and blue for the seats was a great idea on the part of the owner and has presented you with a scene too good to miss! The colours are just so vibrant and the textures palpable. I also love the contrasts between the shaded and sunlit areas.
The figure is very important. He animates the friendly accommodating location

    Hello Rob,

I have to agree with your choice.
Had I seen the w/s version first I would not have desired any additions but having seen the version with the line of red bricks, that (for me) is the better of the two. It offers a contrast of textures, adds a brightness of colour and offers a bit of a natural border.
It is certainly the reflections and the shadows that add the depth and the interest to the white screen of the wall.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

Was this an evening shot for the light is very soft and the moos tranquil.
The boat is an interesting focal point. Its appearance suggests it would have some interesting tales to tell, if only could it speak!

    Hello Malgo,

You give us some interesting notes with your photograph. I almost feel as if I shared the journey with you!

Your photograph has a beautiful clarity with fine colours and evidence of shadows which help to give a sense of relief to the building. A well chosen anglegives depth to the shot, too.
My only suggestion would be to add a little more information to the f/g (if that was possible) to give an introduction to the scene.

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)
