    Bonjour Christian,

Castles always make an appealing subject for photographers and viewers. You have added a fine, diagonal composition with the castle strongly placed on the thirds lines and creating a fine impression of an authoritative view over the countryside.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Benny,

You have found a viewpoint, for this very famous and frequently photographed scene, that is completely new! I just love it!
You have combined the different textures into a guide that appears to take us right over the edge of the cliff!
The figure is important for scale but he is well placed and in no way detracts from the experience of the photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Bonjour Jean Claude,

    What a wonderfully candid shot!
The scene is alive with people, shops and general ornamentation! How good that no-one was aware of you, for it allows us to view the scene without any artificial posing.
It is a most interesting scene, with a good composition, fine dof and an excellent sense of perspective.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Erling,

The distortion gives the photograph a sense of movement, like a pop-up book. (I hope you can understand that, let me explain, just in case! Pop-up books have pages which lie flat when the book is closed but stand up when the book is opened.)
    The light is amazing!
In places it is gilding the building whilst in others, it appears like thunder!
I do like how the jogger makes a good, f/g focal point and a guide into the scene.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Dear Constantino,

A fine composition of boats. Although there are more than three, their arrangement makes a strong, triangular composition, with the focal boat strongly placed and dictating the movement.
The light is lovely; it is bathing everything in a warm golden glow.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Ike,

How cool to see these creatures sunning themselves on the rocks! It's a sight that doesn't happen in the U.K., except in zoos!

Your shallow dof has kept the lizards nice and sharp and one shows up well against the oof b/g. The are beautifully adapted to their environment, and are very well camouflaged.

It is pleasing to read that, for once, nature has taken precedence over 'MONEY'.
This is a beautiful spot and I applaud your composition which has created excellent guides, a great sense of depth and captured the details of this 'special place' for us to appreciate.

    Bonjour Nicolas,

A delightful capture of this aquatic scene, where branches, pond weed and reflections make an abstract pattern into which the coot is innocently straying! The coot becomes the focal image, whilst its disturbance of the water, creates an interesting contrast to the water's surface.

    My warm regards,

    Hello John,

We haven't visited London for a couple of years but when we did, we always stayed at the hotel right across the bridge from your shot. It had excellent views of Tower Bridge.

This one is a bit different from the norm. It shows London as a warm, sunny, touristy place, as well as capturing one of its icons with excellent sharpness. Well, it is certainly touristy but not always as welcomingly sunny as this!
I love how you have given the magnificent bridge some real competition for main, focal feature! The strongly placed loving couple actually take precedence, relegating Tower Bridge to a slightly secondary role!
It's a great shot with well saturated colours and full of activity and 'intimate' details. You have really given London a boost with this shot!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hola Angel,

By focussing so close on the tower, you have been able to capture the details of the spiral steps and the excellent textures of the building. I feel sure we could count every one of those stones!
The soft, blue hues, in the b/g, make the perfect backcloth against which to show the lighthouse.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Robert,

It's a pity that you didn't have good weather in London, for you would have loved it all the more!!
However, even with a grey sky, you have captured these unmistakable icons of the city with excellent clarity and a very well chosen composition, placing Elizabeth's Tower in a strong position.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
Elizabeth's Tower is often called Big Ben.
Big Ben is really the bell housed in the tower. Don't worry, most people make that mistake.

I'm with you on this one!
    It is beautiful!
I love how the colourful houses in the f/g are bathed in light and appear to be mimicking the mountains, though n a much smaller scale.
There is warmth, peace and dramatic beauty all wrapped up in one scene.

Your photograph is quite charming, using a perfect dof, you have captured the close, harmonius relationship between owner and animal. Her facial and body language say so much and your interesting, extensive notes explain the rest.

I have really enjoyed both photograph and text.

    Ciao Caro Luciano,

In some small way, the photographs on TE may catalogue the changes that occur in countries over the years. Let's hope that this 'new dawn' will be beneficial to the people of Cuba.
Your photograph is full of optimism and warmth, as the sun creates red and golden hues all around. I like the symbolism of the figure carrying a bag, carrying his possessions, his hopes, his dreams, into the new day.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Maria,

Like you, I would imagine that seeing a snake charmer but would be high on the list of expected activities when visiting India.
This is a well composed, slightly angled shot, which encourages left to right movement across the frame. The charmers, with their bright costumes, are definitely the main attraction and link colourwise with the oranges in the b/g. It is only later that we notice the snakes. I do hope that the snakes are not mutilated, it would be sad if the owners caused the deaths of the creatures that were providing their income!

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

I visited Barcelona but failed to see anything like this! It is a spectacular landscape and you have managed to capture its magnificent beauty, along with the precarious presence of a hermitage.

    Ciao Caro Carlo,

My first impression is of the lovely, colourful reflections, gently shimmering in the water. They could make a pleasing photograph in their own right!
Then the boat on the left looks distinctly large and threatening, especially to the smaller boats facing it! It could make an interesting story for a children's book!!!
