    Hello Abmdsudi,
such a minimal and effective portrait, a quick capture, a well considered composition that give us a thorough scene and tell us a lot about the subject. There's a very fine dynamism within your frame that shows active participation in the moment and enjoyment. I like very much how the tight connection between the gentleman and his passion is also conveyed through the limited colour palette, even the backdrop has the deep tones of thick smoke. Congratulations and thank you!

    Hi JJ
Thisbis an excellent display of this craft and you have fit so many of the carvings into your view. The gold light shining from within is very warm and inviting. I zoomed in to see each little piece in detail, and some of tho Santa figures look rather angry :)

    Hi Stephen,
It is amazing how far reaching influence in style and architecture can be, here is a brilliant vision of Portuguese design in the far east. It looks beautiful too, a fine building set in a very well landscaped area, I very much like the path outside and that you allowed so much space to appreciate it. The people in the scene add life and local context to help place the building. Informative and excellent note and photo.
    Cheers

    Hi Silvio
An extraordinary sight, I am really glad to learn of this through your gallery. From the gallery thumbnail. I thought we were looking at a photo of ghosts, with the ethereal presence these figures create. Amazing work of the artists to create this statues through ice.
Am I right to think the figure with the red robes is Pope John Paul II? As soon as I saw his face I thought it looked like him. Beautiful job in capturing this very difficult scene.
    Best wishes

    Bonjour Jean Claude,
an original point of view indeed, I like very much this unusual composition and the excellent support you gave to your idea all the way. The symmetrical composition, the impressive height, the superb definition and attractive contrasting colours have created a great graphic effect. The silvery and golden hues show interesting graduation and the "wheel" looks like a mysterious and imposing monument:) Congratulations and thank you!

    Hi Malgo
This is a great winter landscape, and what a bonus to have these lovely reflections of the postcard like buildings spread through the shot. Amazing that this was taken on a phone, my phone certainly could not make a scene like this. Then again, it is the photographer more than the camera that makes the shot and this proves again your eagle eye for great scenes, even with the difficulty of a moving bus. The scene does feel cold too, nice to capture that feeling in the image.
    Have a great weekend too.
    Cheers

    Hi Gilles,
While the buildings do make an excellent image, carrying the eye deep into the shot, it's the sky and the soft golden light from the lanterns on the left that make this for me. The sky looks almost like barely mixed paint, those swirls of cloud and color look amazing. The light on the left is warm and inviting, like the kind I would expect to see in a Christmas card outside a snowy cottage. Beautiful moment to capture

I like very much this tight perspective that comprises some of the most characteristic and admired features of Portofino, with boats and reflections in the front line. You cropped the scene in an expert way, there's fine balance and great elegance in your composition. The colours are sunny and vivid, they are so bright and attractive and still look natural. Howdy Ray,
Your past few posts from Hawaii have really shown the diversity of the architecture and influence to be found there. As a man who has never visited, I would like so many have very preconceived notes about what it would like like, and I would have been very wrong. I certainly would not have expected the eastern influence or this fine gothic church, so once again I use this site to learn so much about the world. The light falling on the building is splendid and the splashs of red from the flowers is an excellent addition. Another cool shot, thanks as always.
    Cheers

    Hi Craig,
In the land of blue and white, the red dressed woman is queen. That is how the saying goes isn't is? Haha, it's a great photo, and splash of color really is the way to put it, this lovely lady is like d wat falling and landing on the page creating this intense wave of contrasting color. She has such a beautiful smile too. It's not hard to see why so many people come to this place for wedding photos, but I wond how many of them end up with photos of themselves as great as the candid ones you take of them. Love the on thirds compositin too.
    Cheers
    Noel

P.S. thanks for the comment on the bridge, sadly a pic from inside the building is not easy to do, as the ground floor is a cheap and nasty fast food place and the upstairs is a pompous members only wine bar. Amazing that tho two things are together in one place! I think I have a photo of the laneway somewhere though, I'll try and dig it out.

this is a very fine picture and I love your title too, they both have and show great human interest. I like very much the child's glance from the safety of his grandfather's arms. Hello Ana,
I like very much this scene, it's so simple and at the same time so atmospheric and effective. The perspective, the depth and the glimpse of the cobblestone give us the sense that the figure has been walking a long way to reach this spot. The tonal harmony and graduation are marvelous, they describe the scene in such a suggestive way. Congratulations and thank you!

the bridge draws a very lovely bow within the suggestive dark frame. It's frail and elegant but the house, its own reflection and the reflection of the quay offer it superb visual support. It's impressive how well you have preserved details, textures and colours in the dark ambiance. The cloud helps the light make another playful and spectacular appearance as it often does in your compositions. Congratulations and thank you!
