Hello John: This is easily one of the most amusing photos I've ever seen on TE. Both the man and the little girl are going about their business as if nothing at all is out of the ordinary. Surely the guy has to know, right? How could he not feel it dropping on him? What took him so long to realize it and how could he have possibly thought everything would be just fine? This is hysterical!

    Thanks for the laugh..................Greg

Hello again. This almost doesn't look like a real building. It looks like you may have gotten very close to a miniature or toy church. This almost looks like a black and white photo but with only one color added. -42C is WAY TOO COLD!! I commend your dedication to photography to go out in that kind of weather!

Greetings from Florida, where the temperature was probably about 80F when you took this photo.......................Greg

Hello Lyudmila: This is the perfect example of breaking so many rules and getting fantastic results. The noise (grain) that would normally destroy a photo actually enhances this one, and then you compliment the grain. The presentation is great, with the ragged edges of the photo and what appear to be burn marks. It is like this photo was in a fire but you were able to save it just before it burned up. Very well done indeed!

    Hello Claude:

I like looking through your gallery for treasures I may have missed in the past and here is one of them. Experimenting with slow shutter speeds can be both fun and frustrating at the same time. Thankfully we have digital now so we can shoot as much as we need to in order to get the shot we want, plus we can see it right away and make proper adjustments.

    Greetings from Florida...............Greg

By the way, I was glad you read your wife was driving while you did this!

Very nicely done, Ricardo. The road is close to the viewer in the foreground, then passes a house with lots of character at the bottom of the hill, then finally disappears at the top of the next hill. It is like a complete journey in one photograph.

    Hi Lisa,

I recognise this road... Without a doubt the scariest bus ride I ever had, not only for the elevated view that gives you the impression that you will tumble down the cliff on each and every curves, but also because there was a tornado at sea, with the funnel and everything, menacing to hit the road while we were driving between Sorrento and Positano... And I remember also about the delicious lemons, and the equally delicious limoncello they make with them...

Good "people in their environment" photo, where the guy epitomises the good spirit and warm nature of Italians. It's interesting to see him with his small stall and the great landscape in the back. Good colours, good contrasts, good framing.

    Cheers!

    André

very impressive photo of an equally impressive mountain. it looks like a man-made pyramide (or the fang of a shark). i love the b&w treatment, the result looks very dramatic, almost epic.

i like how you made use of high key contrast to make the observers focus on the three silhouetted figures. the tiny silhouettes afar are a kind of balancing the compo.

this photo and the bruegel one are quite familiar to me, i guess you know why :)
i also had loved the fact that such an important museum was visited by only a few people, giving a lot of time and space for enthusiastic visitors like me. of course, like you, my favourite gallery was bruegel's. bruegel and bosch, i love both.

in turkish we call it "sis", a bit reminiscent of sister' shortcut in english. if mist is sis, then misty would be "sisli" (pronounced like sisley). but yes, mist would be more mysterious, as fog reminds me more of industrial times, when smog settles down on a town. at least cow is cow and tree is tree, and i am happy with these :)

    Hi Tiffany,

Vancouver is very sophisticated indeed, if only our friend Craig wasn't messing around in the area... :-p)) (Sorry Craig, I couldn't resist teasing you...).

A very interesting result with that blue dominant that brings a lot of charm to the scene, and probably a good dose of peaceful mood too. I like the panoramic frame that suits the subject efficiently.

    Well done!
