A steam-engine running on wine... that's new, my humor only, Alexandre.
We do not have such locomotives in Israel, nor I never taken a ride in one alike - so for me its kind of greaty attraction.
The misty background gave special texture to the scene.
    Bom dia,

Too smokey, Frank - but telling the truth, I never had the experience to ride a steam-engine train, we do not have even a single one inIsrael.
Nice ride in the countryside scenery, maybe taking this from the other side, right-side window, no smoke-effect would be seen, but with a landscape view. My humble opinion.
    Have a nice new day,
    Ike

    Hello Jean,

Again, I'm delighted to see that you took the photo under a cloudy sky, eliminating stark contrasts in light and shade. The color and detail of the stone comes through so much better. Your note is much appreciated.

    Warm regards,

    Bulent

    Hello Mariusz,

This is a beautiful photograph, very well composed and technically perfect too.

In fact, I think Bulent has described the composition here perfectly - those three arches of the bridge, together with their reflections in the calm water, make a wonderful triptych of three distinct and attractive scenes and are perfectly placed in the frame, dominating the distant view. And the moored boats make a fine foreground while the water's edge gives a lovely and natural lead-in to the whole image.

    An interesting note too.

    Beautiful!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

truly extraordinary light here, you have used it perfectly. I like the fragment which is lit with the setting sun. It makes a wonderful background for the columns.

    Hi Bulent
as i'm looking at this ship I see 26 horizontal sails, wow, thats alot!

what I like most about this one, is the compo.
We are always taught to compose by rules of thirds, but sometimes it works well to go outside of those guidlines.

Really like the upfront and center positioning, with equal space on each side.

Also, the large white border works well too.
    attractive shot all around
    Cheers
    Craig

    Hi Mariusz
thats not a color combination we get to see very often in boats, blue and black, but I like it.

I think this is one of those photos where you could have even left out the sky and it still would have been fine.

there some very bright light on the far right, but I don't think there was much you could have done really.

the boats and the triple arches steal the show.
I bet there are excellent blue hour views with the arches and reflections!

    see you around

    Hi Ryszard
I'm a big fan of Poland's Town Halls, it seems like each and every one of them is quite attractive.
smart idea to capture this one on its side rather than straight on. the perspecitve and angles are more impactual this way.

fine color contrast with the yellows and blues too.
    Cheers

    Hi Silvio
I thought at first this was taken in France or Switzerland, it certainly has that look to it.

nice to have that cloud coverage, it makes the scene look a bit softer.

but of course the best feature has to be that church tower, lots of charm there.
a fine sense of depth and height in this one

    Hi Ney
you know how I feel about your photos from Chicago, its like stepping back into the past from a recent trip.

I try to remember all the buildings you show us.
the one in the middle is the best here.
love the small details above and below each window.
if you look at the building on the left, it doesn't have those details.

fun upwards pov works well too.
    thanks for this one

    Hi Malgo
Oh i love this view, and I knew you'd post it at some point.

its so different in the winter months, I think both times of the year are beautiful.
If I had to pick i'd still pick winter because i like the sprinkle of snow :)

But perhaps seeing it with greenery and flowers, yeah, that'd be sweet too!

Love your excitement level, we can really feel it in your note and in your words. Gotta have the Passion!

really appreciate the ws photos as well, its always fun to see some different views.

    keep them coming!

    Hi Jean
I know I keep repeating myself, but i'm so impressed with France - there seems to be an endless supply of picturesque towns and photographs to be had.

and this is certainly one that i've never heard of before.

of course the tallest building in the town is the Church/Cathedral.

you have yourself a wonderful vantage point, showing off the charm and old time buildings. Too bad for the building on the far left, it kind of doesn't fit style wise :)

but overall, a lovely photograph and compo.
    cheers
    Craig
