    Ciao dear Les

Ooh this is a beauty. The Holden light is the thing that first attracts me. Then of course your marvellous subject. Or should I say subjects plural. The twisted old tree is so atmospheric, giving the impression of this place being one of mystery, solitude and howling winds. The lone lady adds to that impression. And finally of course are the stony silent tors. Silent witnesses who have stood impervious to the winds and the coming and going of us humans for millennia. Who will still be there when the trees and us are gone.

Hugs to you and G and congrats on this emotive photo

    Carissimo Carluccio

Adoro questi nasoni, come (credo) dicono i Romani.

    Ciao Clodo

Black and white as a superb choice, emphasising the mesmerising structure of the pyramid and also the shadows thrown by the tourists under the umbrella. I also really like your choice of a vertical frame, adding depth and a real artistic touch to this already excellent street photography scene.

Well done, I like it a lot!

Must be the water baby in me, but it looks like waves about to come crashing down on the dome of the Parliament House. And symbolically, that might indeed be true with all the unnatural disasters happening at the moment. I really like how you composed this, the image is beautifully illuminated and incredibly sharp. The Capitol building here is quite attractive.

    Thanks for sharing

What a beautiful sky here. The vertical frame is sensational and I love the effect on perspective from the converging lines. The houses in the foreground are illuminated brilliantly and the weeds we can see in the water in the foreground are the icing on the cake.

    Ciao cara Rosemary

Another crack-er. Literally. The textures of that harsh cracked earth are a visual feast, my eyes hVe just swallowed them up. And the rich orange dunes, and their shapes in the background finish this work off superbly, as does the very appropriate poem from the South African writer (of whom I'd not heard). So thanks. I think this would have worked on vertical too, with the main sand dune in the centre being framed and the large foreground of cracked earth adding depth. I'll do a Workshop to see, but the moment I saw this, I immediately thought of vertical framing.

A stunning photo, one of the most interesting I've seen in ages. Also what's amazing is the stark similarity of your homeland to the desert of mine.

    Hugs
    Lisa

Hey great title! It certainly looks like beautiful stained glass grows on trees over there on your Soggy Isle. And you exposed the light for it absolutely perfectly. I'm forever getting blown out stained glass - I suppose there could be worse problems in life, eh? Anyway, stunning symmetry and really beautiful colours and details. I like the tight framing of the nave and the warm light at the back of the altar. Good onya!

    Hello Takero,

After six days in Kanazawa, we are preparing to fly back to Washington, DC. We saw many beautiful people and places, traditional dancers and drummers, but not a scene as colorful as this boat. I will post some photos soon from Kanazawa.

Warm regards and have a good weekend,

    Hi Ike
A very creative display - creativity at it's best and somewhat appealing piece of artwork done by the urban artist. The bg makes a nice framing too which lends a good scale and visual interest as well. Although sculptures do have interesting individual shapes in stark contrast, you've succeeded in getting us thinking about it. It is good to see how you can give a new look to an image, enhanced by your well thought out approach. Congrats
    Best regards

    Gidday Craig

As you know, I'm a fan of rocks, so really appreciate their inclusion. In fact the white colours contrast so nicely with the vivid multi-colours of the township. Yes, it's difficult to get an original shot of this place, but I think you tried hard and succeeded. PS: those rocks are NOT a good place for boys with bad knees. I've slid down enough of these babies to know that :)

Have a great weekend, I hear you've been doing the nightshift, so hope this weekend will be a restful one for you

    Lisa

PS: that place with the sand dunes has a shipwreck. You can only get to it by camel or dune buggy or walk 30 kilometres down the beach. At sunset it's so cool! I promise not to upload photos of it until you and Tosca land in Sydney and I will personally take you there

    Hi John
another beautiful piece of work here.
this has fairy-tale written all over it.

really like the way the trees and leaves cover the house, or should i say mansion?

but this place shouldn't have anything to hide :)

looking at how large the mansion is, its surprising how small and tiny the windows are!

another lovely presentation John, the lighting and colors are very attractive
