    Hello Satya,
there is a lot of contrast in the picture so you did ever so well to get the exposure of the white buildings spot on,there are many interesting details and features about them.
The red flags combined with the lady in red complete the red, white and blue triangle perfectly.
    Warm regards Les.

    Hello Gert,

Yes, being somewhat obsessed with maps (like Gunnar), I just had to have a look at this place on Google maps but, not ever having been here and the Google maps being pretty fuzzy, I really couldn't make anything much out. And, of course, Google's little yellow man appears not yet to have ventured to this place - perhaps he never will!

How interesting that the local cinema should take pride of place in this city over what we should have thought were more important buildings. Although a little rough, this main street looks remarkably wide considering the lack of vehicular traffic on it. And, once again, I don't think I can make out any evidence of any womenfolk on this street either.

Again, a photograph of excellent quality considering its age and one which also gives us a fine snapshot of daily life here in happier and more settled times.

    Excellent!

    Kind Regards,

    John.

    Hello Mike,
£48 per hour seems a bit excessive for a cleaner. I am not sure what they are here but nowhere that I'm sure. Under certain circumstances you can get half the cost back against your income tax bill. She seems well equipped this itinerant cleaner.

Hello Emmanuel - I couldn't let this iconic Volkswagen camper van go past without a comment... it conjures up images of hippies, surfers, flower-power etc. etc. This is lovely; a sedate picnic by the beach with a neat spotted table cloth and a proper picnic basket. Looks like the hippies grew up!

    Hello Jean,
it looks as if we have both gone with a view from the top....
This shot works ever so well with both arms of the breakwater safely enfolding the little boats.
The colours are nicely retained and the whole scene sharp and clear.
    Best regards Les.

Hello Justinas - What a magical scene. Obviously your early morning walk was well worth the effort as the warm sunlight has emphasised the colours of the fallen leaves and tinted the whole scene beautifully. Evocative and excellent work.

    Well done

Hello Carlo - Your shot is alive with colour and seeing this shot with the addition of the fiery autumn oranges is a pleasure; they work well with the greens I think. Nicely composed with good use of the reflective glass I like this a lot.

Hello Gert - A fascinating note. I wonder what it says about the local society in the 1970's if the most swanky, swish building in town was the cinema? I love the juxtaposition of the traditionally dressed locals and the modern street lights atop their concrete poles and the distant modern-looking cinema. This looks like a society climbing up the foothills of a new world.

    Excellent.

    Warm regards

Red... it is no accident that it is often chosen as the colour of fire engines; it shouts out doesn't it? I have a particular liking for a red/green contrast so this works well for me. Good timing Jason! and well seen Serghei!

This scene reminds me my visit of Thessaloniki. Amazing way to use a bike in the process of fishing.

Luminous, liquid light Roland. What a fine collection of reflections on the water. The boat looks a tad overexposed in the whites... tricky light to manage I think but I like the shot none-the-less.

Hello Philippe - The first thing I noticed about this shot was the attractive, natural colour palette. I am not really a bird photograph fan but I can appreciate what you have achieved here. Excellent detailing on the feathers thanks to good sharpness and good colour and contrast. I think the preening duck would be pleased with the results!

    Hi, Craig,
I don't know why the people go to Pisa if we can find so wonderful falling towers in Chicago, for example. ;)
I do like this urban style, they said about the concrete jungle etc but this landscape is also attractive for me as the Swiss mountains or the Roman ruins.

Hello Ray - We're neighbors today and I have looked at your shot and read the note with great interest. Fascinating how something as simple as a badly designed bridge can cause havoc with the natural balance of things isn't it? It's pleasing to see that the riverbank looks fully restored and that 'the powers' that be' are keen to protect the beautiful area for the enjoyment of visitors and for the natural world.

A tranquil scene, nicely exposed and with super reflections.

    Have a good weekend
