Good eye to compose this image. The shirts do make an interesting subject here because of the pattern. Nice bright colours and details make this image very appealing.

Truly scary to ride so close to the big truck. The cultural implications here are noteworthy. A similar scene would be complete nonexistent in North America or Europe. Your image is very good I think. Considering the haze you manage some fairly good colours and details. Effective framing to capture the road ahead and the sense of danger.

Interesting mural and a fine way to decorate underpasses in such a beautiful city. Just wondering if the yellow building on the right is the university. I like the perspective, the natural colours, depicting this little place. Good framing indeed. Cheers.

I know is not always easy to take a good picture in a public place. Here the lady on the left causes a great distraction. I do like what you try to show and I find it interesting from a historical point of view. I think a tighter cropping would have removed significant distractions from the subjects. Thanks.

This is a peaceful scene. The framing is very nice, evoking a sense of awe under such magnificent sunset. The boats on the water are an interesting element here. Without them one would thin the people are on a desert or a snowfield. Nice soft colours and details.

Serious looking horns. Interesting framing giving us a close up of this fine animal. I find the colours a bit faded but natural under the bright sun. The close up framing allow for more details. Nice image overall.

Looks like your country is going through some serious weather phenomena. The colours in the image seem faded however the image is very effective to show us the events affecting the city. The background is quite impressive. Your framing of the scene is very nice, with good details and description.

I agree Malgorzata, Toronto is better during summer. Their winters make the city dull...This view of Habana is excellent. I see they preserve their old architecture as best as possible. The capitol is quite impressive and an excellent focal point here. The colours seem faded under such hot and bright sun. Good shot :)

Nice and bright image. I remember this station very well from the first and only time I visited this city. Definitely my fave city in Poland because of its architecture. You managed to capture this scene finely. The arches do make an interesting point of view, more so than the water crane in my opinion. Its a sharp image with good natural tones.

Really beautiful countryside. I like the way you included the snowy peaks in the background. I think it show us what a contrast of natural elements are found in this region. I'm not sure if you edited this image but the colours seem right. Natural tones with no extra saturation. Just a beautiful framing of this place.

    Salut Ourania,

This photo plunges us directly in the field like if we were there, maybe because of the way the trees give the impression to surround the viewer.

The fortress on the top of the mountain is the focal point, despite its position in the background, while the foreground offers a sense of the place.

    Regards,

    Salut Denis,

Oh my God... You've been in India Craig, so by now, you must be hooked, as there is no destination as exotic and exciting as India, to truly loose all your references.

Colors, smells, nice people, striking discoveries, awesome food, delhi belly, everything is there to create the most memorable moments..

Barbers represent a nice theme that I enjoy myself in various situations, and this one is interesting for the expression of the client and the arms of the barber that suggests command and control, while remaining anonymous.

But Craig, this scene is begging for more light, as you haven't post-processed it in order to bring attention on the face, or at least to illuminate it. The most important part of that frame is actually in the dark, while the shirt is grabbing all the attention!??

Because the expression is intriguing and defines the emotional link with the subject- a sense of abandon, I would have been instinctively guided to get a closer capture, so the face and the arms would have become the ultimate elements of the image.

When you think about it, being shaved by another person, surrendering your face to someone else is quite an act of intimacy, so by framing the scene tighter, you would have emphasized this moment, you would have highlighted the scene in an extraordinary way.

Making photography is to know what is essential to keep in the frame, and ignoring what is not necessary. In this case, the magic, the centre of interest is all between these two hands and the face; the shirt, as well as the garbage in the background are far from being desirable in this frame and they completely distract from what this photo is all about.

You would have focused on the upper half of this photo, framed horizontally, and you were having a stunning shot in your hand, as I really don't see what the lower half can possibly bring to the image, what kind of contribution it makes.

The moment was perfect, the face framed by the hand was exceptional, the expression is delightful (almost like a ritualistic moment), but by including this shirt that overtakes the rest of the scene, the focal point is diffused and lost through unnecessary details.

But I salute your guts and initiative to try other subjects than buildings; and you are right, India is a great place to shoot people, as they are as interesting as they are interested. I will keep following your Indian trip through your photo, as I am both jealous of you, but also happy that you have discovered this fabulous country.

    Cheers!

    Salut Claude,

    Ciao!

    Hi Aleksandar,

This photo is simple, and nothing comes in between the man and the sea.

It is straightforward. It is not sophisticated or complex.

I would never have done this image.

But I can really appreciate your own approach, and the feeling conveyed by such a candid depiction, as it forces the viewer to pay attention to this gentleman and coming up with an interpretation of what's going on. Not having read your note, I would have thought he was absorbed in a prayer, a meditating moment or a contemplative serenity.

This image is simple, distant, not intrusive, but it catches the attention and communicate some kind of spirituality, even if he is busy fishing.

A photo with lots of merit, probably because it leaves place for interpretation, for the contrast between the humble man facing an endless sea and the impression of remoteness and detachment.

    Cheers!

    André

    Salut Magaly,

    Travail admirable.
