Hello Carlo - There is a feeling of loneliness in this photograph. Giovanni Fattori stands dejectedly on his plinth and a solitary figure hurries past laden with shopping bags. Both figures ignore each other.

Well timed and nicely composed with the main aspects being very well positioned in the frame.

Hello Gert - Plenty of charm in this old street. I think the people furthest from your lens are actually looking at the man who is walking towards them. He's slowing them down because he's so busy on his mobile phone ;) Now the people in the FG... well it's really only you that can explain what it is that fascinates them so.

This is super Claude. Your low viewpoint fills the upper frame with the brilliant colours of the umbrella but what is especially good is the glancing eye contact you have managed to capture so precisely. I'd love to know what was going through the red-coated ladies mind.

And yes, the Stones work for me.

Hello John - Hand held and your ISO pumped up, this is a fine result ... congratulations. What a delightfully intimate space in the very lovely Glasgow cathedral; I cannot believe that this is your first visit! Did you walk around the grave yard? Now that is a fascinating place. I have never seen such splendour and money spent on the departed. Unfortunately when we visited it was very grey and wet and my pics are horrid.

Back to your photograph. The almost cater-corner composition shows off the ceiling very well and I can enjoy the way the light brings out the form of the decorative vaults. The touches of blue and red add an essential colourful detail to the neutral palette too.

    Nicely done!

The colours in this early evening shot are very lovely Silvio and I like your vertical composition a lot. The stair case is full of detail and invites me into the shot. I'd love to walk up the steps and into the narrow street I see under the arch. Beautiful Italy!

Hello Les - A wonderful sky and a well managed landscape scene. A new take on a subject we see quite often from you, here Brentor Church stands out as a strong silhouette and the light brings out depth and detail across the land. I like the toning very much.

Firstly, congratulations on your 1300 post Brian. That's represents a lot of dedication to both the site and to photography and I appreciate both.

Your PP work on this shot is lovely, taking the shot back to former times and fitting perfectly with the scene you present. I love the soft wash of tones. Most attractive.

This is striking in B&W Noel. The strongly geometrical shape of the face and the compelling gaze of the actor's eyes is brilliantly graphical and I love the way you have cropped the frame.

Hello Craig - An outstanding feature of this shot is, for me, the light and the way the overall tones of the shot are a soft, muddy grey. They compliment the colours of the boat and its reflections so well. A lovely photograph with excellent clarity.

Hello Ann - Your PP work is very successful adding to the misty, wintry look of the scene. The whites are beautifully handled, no blow outs and good detail. Finally the colour palette is superb and very much to my personal taste.

Hello Noel - I know you like shooting directly into the light but by doing so you set yourself a huge exposure challenge and the camera sensor has to deal with an impossible range of light which it cannot manage. If you expose for no clipping on the right hand side of the histogram the shadows will be clogged up. If you expose for the left hand side of the histogram, the brights will be over-exposed as we see here. There are ways of getting the balance a little better (see http://www.sekonic.com/whatisyourspecialty/photographer/articles/common-metering-mistakes.aspx).

I like your idea here, the lens flare works well as do the long shadows. I just find the detail-less area in the sky spoils the shot.

    Have a lovely weekend

This shot appeals to me because of its peaceful rural atmosphere. Trees blossom, the ground is prepared for planting and the cool freshness of spring colours give way to a touch of warmth which points to the coming summer. Very attractive work Sasha.

The play of light and shade across the wonderful old church make this a very special shot Sasha. I really like the sunlight which bounces so brightly of the cross backed by the bare winter trees. It fits in so well with the Christmas season by making the connection between the birth and death of Christ. A wonderful scene.

My best wishes to you for 2015

I would love to see a wooden church like this Piotr. They are so distinctive and to my mind unique. Wonderfully crafted and well deserving of the UNESCO World heritage status.

One needs a head for heights in order to cross this rope bridge Bulent. I wouldn't like to cross during a storm! Your viewpoint illustrates the rocky shoreline well and all looks serene under favourable weather. I love the small white cottage and wonder whether anyone loves there.

Hello Achim - This shot illustrates just how quickly nature can overtake and reclaim that which we may construct. This lovely old house is slowly being consumed by vegetation. A wonderfully verdant scene using the dirt road as a good lead in line allowing us to follow the progress of the children as they pass by the old plantation house.
