    Hello Jean Claude,

I remember visiting this place and what a wonderful reminder you have provided!
The Alzette looks particularly still on this day, allowing you to take a photograph where the reflections are as clear as those from a mirror!
A beautifully composed photograph which uses the the guide of the bridge to great effect.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Paul,

I have always thought that Sicily would be an interesting place to visit, thanks for this!

The car is actually very important as a reference point, to create the sense of depth to the house below, which are built like steps up the hillside. It's a picture which defines the individuality of the region, with its closely connected houses and pastel colours.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Gyorgy,

This is a lovely shot, full of interest, particularly from the sky. The clouds look to have created a circle as if to encapsulate the sun, which has then proceeded to send out spears of light!

    Hi Benny
So i guess this falls into the category of save yourself first!

how about trying to help out the citizens with the flooding, try some preventative measures before hand. Taxes are necessary in a city, but overly high taxes just piss people off.

I'd like to see more of this Medieval castle, looks quite large and bold with thick walls.
cool post and history lesson to go along with it

    Ciao caro Silvio,

This is an outstanding capture of the Umbrian countryside!
    Utterly beautiful!
The fields, with their masses of wild flowers and red bushes, undulating as far as the white topped mountains, are quite stunning! I find the whole scene quite breath-taking!

    Thank you for sharing this.
It will have to go straight into my favourites.

    Hello Nicolas,

These wild poppies are so vivid!
They make a strong, visual statement amongst the whites and yellows of the surrounding wild flowers.
I like how you have concentrated on the poppies, giving them the sharp focus, whilst the other flowers create the useful blurred b/g.

    Bonjour Serge,

Your photograph reveals the tremendous strength and awesome construction of these fortifications! They look truly formidable!

    Hello John,

    What a fine shot!
I can't understand why you have had it under wraps for so long!
The long time exposure has really captured the possible light to great effect! The buildings look gilded whilst the reflections across the water look like flames! And what a contrast they make with the dark hues of the sky!
I keep being drawn to the single tree, silhouetted against the sky. It's a most eye-catching feature!
A very well composed photograph and with such clarity! I'm proud of you, taking a tripod to Spain!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
Thank you for your warm critique of my photograph. But, I have to tell that Len didn't come. I went with a close friend whose husband was too ill to travel.
Have you made any definite arrangements to meet Craig?

    Hi Malgo
are you sure you didn't visit Canada recently? haha
because this looks exactly like some of the views I see during my hikes here in and around the Vancouver/Whistler area.

it is pretty cool though to see the sunken forest, its not something we see alot of.

that emerald green though is fantastic, looks very silky smooth. another fun experience for ya

Complimenti e grazie!

    Ciao caro Luciano,

Apart from the use of colour photography, this scene could have been one taken centuries ago! There is nothing to define the 21st century! Even the speed of movement doesn't equate with modern times ... as you refer to with regard to most of Naples!
It's a beautifully composed photograph, giving excellent linear perspective, as well as interesting peripheral details. The two monks are a great focal point, providing a fine scenario.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

this is a wonderful composition showing part of the rail proceeding from the low border and vanishing into the scenery. I like how you arranged all the important features of the scenery and included a clear and fascinating background as well. You achieved marvellous colours and contrasts, the textures are interesting and it's exciting to spot a paraglider at the top. Congratulations and thank you!

    Hello Gert,

A most interesting note to accompany your equally interesting photograph. It's a pity that the day was so wet for this happy, outdoor celebration but when bubbles are raining down, the atmosphere can only be light hearted!

You are quite close to this girl, displaying her orange scarf, yet she is totally unaware of your presence, which I think helps the mood of the shot; she appears quite hypnotised by the bubbles! Love her position in the frame, too!
Despite the weather, you have given us a clear and well saturated photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
p.s. Bosch seems much more humorous celebrating King's Day!

    Hola Angel,
the clouds, the perspective and the way you treated the light and the contrasts, have given the scene a mysterious and dynamic aspect. At the same time, you've achieved great depth and clarity, even in the heavily shaded areas. I like the dicreet highlights on the village and the distant landscape as well as the placement of the tower. A very picturesque scenery. Congratulations and thank you!

    Hello Ike,
although settings, compositions and colours are different, both of your pictures are attractive and interesting and they show the busy character of the market place very effectively. This sounds and looks like a very interesting and colourful place, it's great to have a glimpse through your photos. The daily life scenes, the light and the colours remind me of Greece. You coped with the lighting demands very aptly. Congratulations and thank you!

very cool and very interesting information in your note, i enjoyed that read. and for some reason its great to see these failed attempts! Just goes to show that they had a learning curve to go through as well.

I wonder if anyone died when the inside of the pyramid collapsed?

and I would never have known this was over 300 feet high unless you mentioned it, there's nothing around it for scale.

    Hello Lars,

I'm glad you explained the figure.
How sad he insisted on intruding; a sideways step would have been all that was necessary!
Never mind, apart from the unwelcome face, this is a very well composed photograph. The path makes a pleasing guide around the building, which is extremely well exposed; I'm sure it would be possible to count each individual stone!
The glimpse of another eye-catching building helps to create a fine sense of depth and perspective.
