I love the atmosphere in this. The B&W decision is great, and timing of the man, passing between the tress adds a lot to the composition and sense of movement.
Regardless the location, this is a story in a picture. Love it.

    Hello Klaudio,

Whoopsss...i love this photo for the expression on the woman's face, it is priceless. The common pedestrian, returning from the super market, obliging with a photograph, i think she has a great attitude, not many would do that. Or perhaps a beautiful woman know how to respect the camera, that of an overseas tourists'. Or maybe she just respect you, the photographer. I think you were someone who could be trusted with a photo. So many ways of looking at this.

That probably is a "bobby brown" or a "chanel" red, the scarf causally flung around, colour coordinated dark tan bag, i think she is very conscious and confident woman who wants to get it right, she knows the fashion, hence the composure, the demeanour, the strong exterior which comes out so beautifully on her face.

I am guessing it was overcast, the photo begs for more sharpness, 1/25 with iso 100, but thats ok since this was more of a reaction photo.

For the eye contact, for a documented photo of a beautiful Iranian woman, i love this photo, show me more of this Klaudio. Ordinary moments from daily life because the ordinary can be just as beautiful.

Enigma, if she came in your dreams, she would definitely be an enigma ;)

That's one and a half feet tall, we call it the "tandoori roti" back here. "Tandoor" is the oven and "roti" is bread. The biggest I have seen is the size of a frisbee. Soft to be dipped in gravy and relished. Are you into into Indian food yet ? Or is just too much of spice and masala ?

That's alright, without the foot. I think bread is that part of the world is harder than here. I can tell you for sure not many Indians will get through that easily. I think it is the flour and the temperature which is responsible.

And hey, I just celebrated my third anniversary, so this dedication comes at a fitting time.

    Thank your very much.

    Hugs

Hey Klaudio..You forgot the lamp, the door knob, i think it is a matter of time there is a selfie on this site, hey, i think should i should post one, who knows, i might get a lot "likes"..

coming back to the real world, (so called), i think Iranian art is just too beautiful, my brother in my Calcutta home, has acquired a Shahnamah by the Iranian poet, Firdausi, i have seen these depictions, in gold paint in that book, and it is mesmerising, the plates in gold change tones and colours in light. As in the book, the paintings and the poems/stories are on opposite pages, makes it more exciting.

This you have found on a table, i think its exquisite, have we seen something like this on table tops, i doubt we will ever..

did the iranians have jewish influences in art, culture etc, like in morocco. I am trying to connect something.

keep posting these, forget the "enlightened ones" ;)

Your contact is just perfect, the short excursion around, scanning the area your way, that must have been a great feeling. This place looks untouched to me, raw, the life around here must be quite challenging. i can see short railings and staircases inside the rocks, so they are living there too, good shelter.

    the series is getting interesting.

This place seems like magic, the formations are unique, with the alternate patterns. Truly if this was your first contact in Iran, you should have brought the car to halt and spent some time just looking at it. But hey, i know this feeling, you get so absorbed, you just want to let your eyes melt away breezing at 120, hoping that your forefinger finds its way to the shutter button and bang !!! get a memorable photo like this one..

    bravo. very simply put.

[p.s - any other part of the world, you would to pay a hefty fine cos these roads are wired, like the ones in-between the Atlas in Ouarzazate, there were speed guns all over..]

And why may i ask you, why shouldn't you have taken the photo ? This is what i have been waiting to see, the action from Iran. A smartly dressed woman with conviction who knows her job is parting knowledge, the most beautiful thing that man has ever done, to youngsters who are engrossed, taking notes in the little spiral diaries.

I think this is a great photo, we have three layers of interest. you say you were a teacher and you can relate ? my mother has taught for 35 years and my dad for 53 years, that is how well i can relate ? :))

i will get back to you on the inscription that you have posted in the WS..

An eye on the travelogue, two eyes..

What I like more are the little details, the rings, the tissue paper just in case, the ornamental pipe, the overall poise and his graceful presence, this needed the right execution given the side lighting from where you were positioned and I I think you have nailed it here Klaudio. I don't think you needed to do anything differently, the portrait is just perfect. What completes it is the puff of smoke hides his face like a veil.

Overall a good people photo to start with.

You have reminded of the film Argo by Ben Affleck, supposed to be set in Iran, and if I am not mistaken the oldest bazaar in the world is in Iran, and there were some sequences in that movie which were shot in a market In Istanbul because they authorities didn't provide permission to shoot in that bazaar in Iran. Any idea which market is it in Iran ?

Me back to work tomorrow, that bad feeling in the mouth, but hey, hope you had a great Sunday !

Welcome back Mr Klaudio, gosh you have just travelled half across the world, to be a part of another world which has flourished for thousands of years. Iran is quite a choice for a destination, it is bold, shows your appetite for adventure, travel, your need to explore the lesser known lands, forgotten people, your need to find answers.

I am looking forward to the series, take it beyond the objective and let my imagination lead the way. This photo reminds me of similar hamlets that i have seen in the remote corner of the upper Himalayas. Similar topography, the striated mountains with several banded mineral deposits. Interesting to see how the locals have bordered the doors and windows with white paint, looks like some ritual.

Did you stay over in this village, this looks really back in time. this could be the adventure you are looking for !
