    Ciao Caro Silvio,

    What a beautiful house!
How amazing that such beautiful design and decoration could be achieved nearly 600 years ago!
The pillars on the ground floor are very distinctive and unusual by their slim design.
Do you think a line of decoration has been removed from the above the upper windows?
You have captured the building and the figures with excellent clarity.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Helli Kari,

You had strong light contrasts for this photograph but that has given great depth to the colours.
What a picturesque scene! The river guides from left to right, on a sinuous course, guiding us around and there are excellent connections to cross the water to see the buildings and the scenery.
It is a beautiful old town with a rich history.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Piotr,

It may be a well known feature of Corfu but you have presented it with a really wonderful composition.
The connecting path emerges from the l/h corner and follows a diagonal to the strongly positioned monastery.
The movement from one to the other is flawless.
This fine composition is set in an attractive b/g of sea and tree covered islands.
Corfu is always known as the greenest of the Greek islands.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Ciao Caro Carlo,

You have used the trees very effectively in the f/g to create a gap, through which we can follow the river and be introduced to this very attractive looking town. The buildings all have a high, vertical presence, with the dome and the tower standing proud above everything else. I suppose, because of their closeness to the camera, they even take precedence over the castle.
The contrasts of light and shadows adds much to the appreciation of the photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Craig,

This really is a stunning shot!
It's like the 3D models of landscapes that we used to have in geography when being taught about escarpments, valleys, etc.
Is that the top of the volcano where the cloud shadows are revealing the depression?
I can't really see a town but that doesn't detract from the stunning beauty of this drone shot!

    My warm regards,

    Hello Will,

I'm not sure whether people ask to be buried here but it is a very quiet and beautiful place for their family members to come and visit. And as a scene that pleases the photographic eye, it is great.
You have composed the scene well, using the f/g features both to interest the viewers and anchor the scene. Beyond the calm of the sea is stunning!

    Hello Ike,

I remember your previous shot from this location and wondering in what sort of dangerous position you had been, to take the photograph!
The waterfall makes a spectacular f/g feature, cascading from the summit and plummet downwards! The straight, vertical rock beyond adds to its sense of height.
The cliffs in the m/g and b/g look like something from the American Badlands, though, of course, these are connected with water!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hola Angel,

Your photograph is very much about the setting, showing the lovely sandy beach backed by the dunes and their binding marram grass. The blue sea and sky make up the remaining thirds of your fine composition.
The figures are interesting by creating a focal point and a sense of scale.
For an early October day, the weather looks very good for a beach walk!

    Bonjour Christiane,

I'm pretty sure that this is a mandarin duck, its facial colours and neck plumes are very distinctive. It looks to be very coy, bowing its head behind the flowers!
It's a lovely composition using diagonal lines and the rule of thirds.
I think the lighting was not in your favour but a creditable result despite that.

    Bonjour Denis,

We usually see a chalet as a focal point in such a scene but your use of the flower is both original and attractive and totally in keeping with the colours around.
The light has been controlled masterly to give wonderful depths of colour.
A beautiful scene, a beautiful composition and a photograph with which I am sure you were thrilled.

Ha! ha! Serge, your photograph looked as if it was covered in dust spots on the thumbnail! Full size, we can appreciate the reality of the spots! The sky is not only full of balloons but has interesting sky patterns, too!
I like your composition, where the trees give a context, a scale and a sense of depth, as well as confirming your use of thirds.
The light is very well controlled.

    Hello John,

You call this a view of the street but it's really a view of the people enjoying a stroll in the street in Bruges. It's a bustling, lively atmosphere and it really makes us want to be there to join in.
Bruges seems to have so much to offer, the buildings, the canals, the shops and even the crowds!
A fine composition enhances the attractive location.

    Hi Luis
love love love it! the saturation of colors really pop, and perhaps you had to do that because of the dull sky and weather conditions - but it works. it still would have worked if you chose not to :)

I commend you for posting this photo, I typically stay away from rainy posts :) Perhaps I shouldn't.

excellent pov, the side angle worked to your favour, its a sweet mixture of masts, buildings, boats, and people.

yes, very very picturesque and charming indeed. postcard style. hard to imagine this town, even though much smaller, being around in the early 1200's! so that river is the country border? thats cool. very attractive photo for obvious reasons, really enjoy this place. love the clouds too

    Hi Lars
yes, I should post one of these shots as well. this is a great park to walk through, its busy, so there's always photo opps for people too. and that sculpture is pretty cool at night as well. local photographers often us the opening as a 'frame' to frame the subjects inside of it - quite common.
I like this view too, the North Shore Mountains, the waterfront the older 60-70's appartments. lovely view from Vancouver! really enjoying these
