I like the candid nature of your shot...the dynamic framing of the turban gives a sense of movement through the frame or if he was still a sense of pre-occupation beyond it. A nicely rendered situational portrait!

    Hi Francesco,
Wonderful clean, modern, minimalist architectural image. I like the strong contrast of colours of the orange against the deep blue, and the white highlights that pop out. Strong composition including perfect elements of detail.

    Hi Michael,
Those clouds are certainly something special and the light from below serves well to enhance them and make them radiate, and so does your choice of black and white. I guess its one of those case of being at the right place at the right time. Nice capture.

    Hi Takero,
Your images tell us so much about the rich culture of Japan. The weather looks quite terrible, but still you have managed to capture a good scene. I like to see all the make up and the colourful flags that stand out against the grey sky. Good composition using the diagonal line of the people waiting in a row.

    Hi Klaudio,
What I like about this shot, is that she is at work, and you have used the available light to give a real "workshop" feel. Great too that there is a finished product hanging and an unfinished one she is busy wit, kind of like a before and after :-).
Good work on this environmental portrait.

Fantastic shot, full of religious atributes and eschatological symbolism.. tensed, thick, sinister..

    Hi Angshuman,
I see that you had better weather for your ballon trip over Cappadocia than we did. I like your wide view showcasing the expanse of these strange an fascinating formations, and the balloons included really give a sense of scale to the landscape. There is also a good depth to the image, sharp from foreground right into the distance.

    Hi Gert,
The devastation that has occurred in Nepal is so extreme and it is such a terrible tragedy, and I am sure that it will take them a long long time to recover from it.
Perhaps you can see your photos as a tribute to the people of Nepal, not ignoring what happened but reminding us to think about the people there and what they are going through.
You present a good daily life documentary here of these ladies hard at work, to prepare the harvested grain.

    Hi Maria,
It is such a tragedy what has just happened in Nepal with the earthquake, and the devastation is so extreme.

Sadhus always make for interesting photography and these two are no exception. Their colours really stand out from the grey background,a nd I like their different poses.

    Hi Craig,
I am glad that you have made it to India. It is a wonderful place to visit and explore, and indeed there is a rewarding surprise around every corner, it really does become addictive to travel there. Here you have incorporated some of my favourite elements such as a bicycle and that marvelous scripted and textured wall. I like your placement in the frame of all the elements and the incorporation of the man and his child/grandchild, everything comes together to form a pleasing composition. The only thing I can maybe say is that not everything looks very sharp?...but then I see that you have a fairly shallow aperture. Anyway, thanks for transporting me back to India, wish I was there :-)

One from your archives that I am glad you found, it is an interesting tribal image. One can feel the movement as they go through their dance ritual, and it is always fascinating to see the traditional dress and decorations of various peoples.

    Hi Stephane,
Incredibly picturesque place you have captured here, and you have done it very well. There is a great depth to the image and I like the various layers and contrast between the orange sand and the green grass. The black church is perfectly placed in the opening of the dune in the foreground which creates a natural frame for it.

    Hi Subhendu,
I really love this sweet image, it's amazing how kids find entertainment in the simplest things, I too would have liked this vehicle as a spacecraft ;-). Your composition is great in that the auto rickshaw fills most of the right hand side, and I like the inclusion of some of the rest of the street to see the daily happenings there too. I like to see each unique little character and expression, and the sharpness, light and colour management are well done. All in all a successful image! Hope you don't mind if I add it to my theme.

    Hi Abmdsudi,
A wonderfully composed and intimate portrait of this man and his craft. I like the sharp focus on the man, and the blur of movement as his potters wheel spins to make its creation under his deft hand. It's good to see that the traditional crafts are still kept alive. Great image!

    Hi Luciano,
A wonderful close up detail shot here. Lovely textures created by the pieces of shells and pebbles and the wetness really brings out their colours. The feather is a nice addition to the composition, and its softness contrasts well with the surrounding hardness of the shells and pebbles.
