    Hej Gert,

    Hello Craig,

This is an extraordinarily beautiful shot, with the red houses snuggling warmly between the blackness of the sea and the looming might of the snow-tinged rocky mountains. I cannot see how the composition could be improved, the scene flows so naturally from corner to corner.

Your w/s confirms the tale in your notes, about rapidly changing weather conditions. It a bit like that in my home village, at the moment, being a change between spitting, gently raining, raining hard or torrential downpours - should I wear shoes, wellingtons or waders!!!

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Maria,

This is the sort of photograph that I love and wish I had taken! You have created a fine cohesiveness with your composition, everything seems so beautifully connected between the reality and the extraordinary reflections.

I'm glad I didn't notice the trash for that would have spoilt the beauty of the moment.

    Have a lovely day,

    Hello Boa,

The use of b&w was a good decision, it makes us (the viewers) concentrate on the focal subject and appreciate the skilfulness of the composition, for it is very well composed.
As is the case with many of your shots, a scenario is suggested.

    Have a lovely day,

Oh, Chris, this is such a beautiful spot!
The red roofs make a warm, eye-catching focal point in the middle of an inviting blue sea! You have created a fine, natural lead, via the curve of the beach, where the parasols, towels and bathers add zest and colour to the scene.

I can see the similarity to Mont St-Michel but what a pity that this is closed to the general public!

    My warm regards,

It took a moment to find the fisherman, but was a fun search as well. :)

What an wonderful display of layered color and natural beauty. The low lying clouds add a touch of mystery to this enticing scenery, and your well balanced composition has everything working in blissful harmony. Beautiful! Hope all is well. Take care.

The beauty and charm of this street holds it own in value and interest, but that incredible sunset really steals the show. :)

Actually, it acts as more of a compliment to the scene and enhances the ambiance perceived through this imagery. Very well captured, composed and presented! Hope all is well. Take care.

    Hey Mr. Mac!

You like to tempt fate, huh? Didn't you learn a lesson in Greece no too long ago?? :P

I get it man, I've put myself in many a strange and somewhat dangerous position to get the shot. It's kind of an adrenaline rush, right?

As I was reading your note, I felt that same kind of twinge....."Oh man, gotta' grab that fleeting moment!"

Well good sir, it paid off big time here! The light paints the entire scene with mood and clarity, it does appear to be a special opportunity. Nothing that would blow your mind away per se, but enough to grab your full attention to take in the inspiring beauty of this place.

Glad you made it out unscathed...but you just lessened your odds for the next one. lol Awesome shot amigo!

    Take it easy.

    Cheers from the desert,

    Jason

    Hey bud!

Wow, nine years...you're an old man! :) Hmmm, let me rephrase that...you're a veteran. Yeah, that sounds much better. lol

Congratulations on the benchmark, TE has been a great source to view your photos, and this is certainly right in line with that ideal. A beautiful and well known place here in the U.S. The vivid blue sky really makes the supporting colors and detail come alive, and as we can see from the people in this frame, it's a popular spot to photograph.

Glad you were able to experience this fine city and have a beautiful copy of it in picture form. Here's to another 9+ years of photos and friendship! :)

Take care my dear friend. Cheers,

    Jason

The steep sided hills, with rocky outcrops make an attractive scene, with a natural lead down the valley. The two figures animate it and their placement adds great strength to the composition.

    Hello Lars,

It seems to have similarities with New York in more ways than one, for it is possible to take photos of N.Y from islands in the seaway!
I love how you have been able to give us an opening into the harbour, where the inclusion of ships really gives a scale to these skyscrapers. It's a fine exposure, with colours that seem to mimic the coolness of the sea.

    Ciao Caro Luciano,

Did you feel the hairs on your neck stand up when you were viewing this room, this scene? Sometimes, special places, places that affected history, have that effect!
The very formal arrangement of the chairs, surrounding the light reflective table, lead quite irresistibly to the painting and to the flag, inseparable in this context.
It is a pity that the light is reflecting on the painting for I would really like to study their faces. Of course, as a painting, it has the painter's opinions of the people more ingrained than a photograph would have.

    Thank you for sharing this,
    Bev :-)

You arrived just at the right moment, before the lamps in the window and the orange tracery, were completely covered.

    Hello Daniel,

You have made my mouth water with such descriptive notes! Tapas is a relatively recent addition to our choice of foods, well maybe that's because I live in a small village! But, I do enjoy the variety, especially when I go to Manchester!

This is a lovely composition. The pattern of the cobbles makes a strong f/g triangle, whilst the tree is strongly placed and helps to create a good sense of depth. The fishes are interesting details and the birds animate a quiet scene.

    Ciao Caro Francesco,

The light could not have been better for this photograph. It is almost as if the sun has shone particularly on the church, like a spotlight.
The clarity is beautiful, the tall tower standing out extremely clearly against the cloudy sky and creating a good sense of depth to the shadowy hills.
Malgo is right, this does look quite different from normal Italian churches, well certainly those that I have seen.

    Hello Gert,

This is such an interesting photograph!
I immediately imagined that this cobbled piazza would be a pedestrianized so was surprised to see cars in situ!
It is a lovely space, surrounded by elegant, tall buildings which enclose the area, keeping attention firmly on the action within. There is a suggested, diagonal link, which works well, between the spouting fountain and the Holy Trinity column, and between them, an eclectic mix of people. What a great place for people watching ... an interesting occupation when on holiday!

    HELLO ike,

I suspect, from the tight crop, that this tangoed car was closely parked on the street. They are so distinctive, so very much of their time, that they hold a special place in our hearts!. (My son used to compare them to a hump-backed bridge and I suppose you can see the similarity!)
The headmistress, at the school where I worked, had one just like this, except it was bright red. It was brand new and I really envied her car!
    Enough about me!
This is a fine capture, sharply exposed and with details that reveal its very shiny surfaces.

    Hola Angel,

This is quite a view across the province of Cadiz.
The movement from sharpness to gentle blurring, creates a fine sense of depth.
There are so many details to absorb, from the earthy patterns, in the f/g, to the formal design of the church, to the quite modern bridge across the river, to the patchwork patterns of the fields.
It is certainly a place to rest, with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful view.
