    Hello Christian,

Oh, the ducks are leading the way!
You have chosen a fine aspect where the canal guides and the converging lines create a good sense of perspective.
You did well to include the displays of flowers which immediately add a sense of warmth and pride.
The old buildings back a most intersting b/g.

    Have a lovely day,

    Hello Malgo,

Ha! Ha! At a higher magnification, it is possible to quite clearly see the monument!
    What an unusual subject!

This is a fine aerial shot!
    The clarity is quite amazing.
It seems as if we are looking through the blue, glass building on the left!

    Hello Piotr,

A very well composed photograph detailing the pasture, the mountains and the deep blue sky.
I particularly like the light and shadow contrasts and the inclusion of the grazing cattle, to establish a calm mood.

    Ciao caro Carlo,

Mi ci è voluto un minuto per orientare me stesso e capire questo filmato, anche se ho subito apprezzato la grafica forte e la composizione bene.
Che ben visto, fotografia abbastanza inusuale che offre grande impatto.

    Buona giornata,

    Hello Takero,

Such a great shot of shared communal pride and exuberance! The expressions on the faces could not be faked, it is such a wonderful moment to capture the save.

    Hello Danos,

The colours immediately attract, especially the bright red, strongly-placed boat, surrounded by so much blue. It is almost as if it is winning at the start of 'big boat' race!
    I love the clouds, too.
You couldn't have asked for better examples as a bubbling b/g to the boats.

    Wonderful, crisp exposure!

It's almost a monochrome pattern of geometric shapes but, then, these warmer colours and animating figures create focal points on a great separation line.

It's difficult to post a photograph that is very different but you have managed it, here. It is a most amazing window in the clouds, revealing something that looks like something from Conan Doyle's 'Lost World'.

    Hello Gyorgy,

This is a very interesting shot!
I can't help thinking that the guy in the hat, coming down the steps, has all the appeal of a star from an old b&w movie!
He brings a whole scenario with him ... especially as he appears to be hiding his face like an old-time, character spy!
The setting and the poster all add to the mood.

I did look hard to see if he was being followed!!!

    Hello Daniel,

I think I have just the same aspect but during the daytime.
It's not an easy shot but definitely an interesting one.
The illuminated street creates a good linear perspective, enhanced by the figures.
But, the pièce de résistance is undoubtedly the illuminated dome of the Doumo.

    Hello Rob,

You had a very clear day when you ventured up that spectacular building and were able to get a bird's-eye view, even without a drone! To say your options were limited, you still managed to get a very well composed photograph showing the layout of the cathedral and its upper sculptural details, as well as some excellent details of its of its location.
There is no doubt about the scale!

Oh, I'm so eager to go back here!!

    Ciao Cara Lisa,

Though I have visited many parts of the Republic of Ireland, I have only been to Northern Is. to see the Giant's Causeway so this is quite a treat! It perfectly explains why Ireland is called the Emerald Isle!
From the time of year, I presume that the yellow patches are bushes of gorse, all helping to enliven the light, green hues in the f/g.
There is a very natural continuation from the open gateway in the f/g, across the quilted fields to the shadowy, round-topped Mountains of Mourne, all beautifully exposed in your composition.
I believe the mountains are owned by the National Trust, as an area of outstanding natural beauty and I can'y disagree there!

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hi Mike,

The upturned boat and coiled ropes are fantastically strong f/g images and set the scene for the sea-facing castle, high on the hill.
I love how the clouds create the effect that they are emanating from the castle, like smoke out of an old, Lancashire mill chimney!
    As always, great composition.

    Warm regards,
    Bev :-)
Lindisfarne was on TV, yesterday. It gave a good description of the castle and its history.
Did you visit the walled garden at the rear?

    Hello Craig,

    I remember John's photographs.
In fact, I think this one is even better. I immediately chose it as a favourite!

However, your photograph is at a completely different time, in completely different weather and from a completely different angle. You would expect it to have a different appearance and atmosphere.
With your shot, we see the internal structure of the castle and its location within the countryside.
    It is an extensive view.
It's like the difference between an information book and a poetry book.

Is that Tosca in the blue jacket?
She certainly helps the understanding of scale.

    Have a great day,

    Hello Chris,

I have tried for ages to critique this but the site keeps freezing!
On Beta, there are no such problems!

This is a very well composed photograph.
We are compelled to travel down the tiled street, warm with amber reflections.
In association with the lamps, a great linear perspective is created.

You know, the tiles remind me of the streets in Pompeii!
The silhouetted figures add life and mystery.
    Just lacking a little sharpness.

    Have a lovely day,

    Hello Ike,

That wine-barrels-boat makes a very interesting f/g attraction, especially when is it is situated on a strong triangle. Its mast follows the thirds line for extra strength of composition
Beyond the boat, we are treated to a lovely scene of river, riverside buildings and a huge bridge as a secondary focal point.
It's a good composition and exposure.

    Bonjour Laurent,

Anyone who has seen this beautiful town must have been captivated by its beauty!
You have certainly done well to capture its beauty and part of its historic character in this fine photograph.
I like how you have used the irregular shape of the quayside to separate the two distinct area of the moorings and the town; one aspect is full of smooth textures and hazy reflections, whilst the other is an eclectic mix of very 3D buildings, cafes and figures.
    It's charming!

    My warm regards,

    Hello Stephen,

Whenever I see photographs of Strasbourg, I lament that we were only able to stay in this beautiful city for just over half a day! I loved every minute, exploring its flower decorated canal and streets.
You have chosen a fine aspect to include the flowers, the canal and to give a lovely, linear perspective of the houses.
We get a sense of its pride and its history.
