    Hello Maciej,

It is the light on the houses that is the immediate attraction, bathing them in a warm, golden glow, with light shadows streaming across them, they look wonderful! You have chosen a fine composition, very effectively guiding viewers up the hill and round the corner, with interesting details and figures to follow.
    A most enjoyable photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Stephen,

Indoor shots can be notoriously difficult to avoid noise and to achieve accurate colours but this is a fine, symmetrical shot, capturing the details of the baroque decorations.
    The chairs look very modern.
Not the sort of seating you usually see in a church!

    Have a lovely day,

    Bonjour Nicolas,

The rising sun, beginning to dispel the mist, has created an amazing golden hue over the whole scene. It is wonderfully ethereal!
I love how you have included the f/g as an anchor and to give a sense of reality before the swirling, golden mist takes over.

    Have a great day,

Ha! Ha! John, I'm with this young boy! At his age, learning to walk a tightrope, with his jacket acting as a superhero cloak is definitely more appealing than studying the finer points of a sculpture! His concentration was probably so intense on avoiding the crocodiles in the gushing water, that he never even saw the sculptures!
    It's a lovely candid shot!
His brightly coloured trainers are balancing on the edge of the photograph, making him an eye-grabbing focal image, sharp and intense. The b/g has just the right amount of blurring, explaining the setting but not battling for main attention.
I love that we can make out the word 'care', almost as if it is a message to the small gymnast!

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Serge,

What an excellent viewpoint you have chosen so that you have been able to include the facades of these most attractive and very characteristic houses, the barrier baskets of flowers and the ancient church, all flowing naturally on an angled line. It is a most colourful area of the town and you have collected all these details with fine clarity.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Daniel,

This really is an amazing shot!
The wine cellars appear like colourful steps mounting the steep side of the hill and culminating in a, strongly placed, massive dome, right at the top!
The shadows of the bridge add interest to the buildings and explain something of its location to those who have already seen your photograph of the bridge.

    Ciao Cara Lisa,

It is strange to us, in the U.K.,reading about the dangers of wildlife on the roads. The only wildlife we would encounter, besides the odd hedgehog or rabbit, would be maniac drivers!!!

I have seen photographs of these pinnacles before. They are amazing spectacles of Nature! There is a slight similarity between them and the prehistoric stone alignments at Carnac, though the stone alignments are manmade!
I like how you have captured the off-centre main pinnacle, gabbing immediate attention, and then guiding inwards. It looks as if they have been given the Midas touch, by their golden surfaces!

    A fine shot!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

Reflections in wet sand are superb!
They are always sharp, without the distortion caused by rippling water and they are always a surprise, since land doesn't usually cause such reflection!

You have been particularly observant, here, composing the lighthouse strongly in the frame but, also, capturing a young couple, equally strongly; they give human interest and a sense of scale.

    It's a beautiful shot!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

I feel it was a good decision to concentrate on the single oak leaf for it has wonderful iridescent colours, silky textures and certainly holds attention, centre stage.
Your shallow dof works a treat, giving sharpness to your focal leaf but still supplying us with a useful oof context.

    Hello Jean,

I recognised this place immediately, having visited it and photographed it, last year.
You have chosen a fine point from which to take your shot, capturing the details of the estuary and then, using the river as a most effective guide. It is easy to get a feel for the way that the little town is built up the hillside but with plenty of space for holiday makers to gather near the river and the sea.
    A lovely shot!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Robert,

This looks more like a James Bond chase scene than the usual, tranquil gondolas, on the Venice canals! You must have been fascinated, watching the intricate manoeuvers!
Having put aside the surprise, this is an excellent shot! You have chosen to keep everything sharp and it works perfectly, the boats making the immediate focal images but the contextual buildings having a secondary focal role.
I just love it! It is one of the best shots that I seen from Venice in recent months.

    Thanks for sharing this,
    Bev :-)

    Hola Angel,

A quiet corner of Andalucía, where the trees and the pretty white building make a most attractive, shimmering reflection in the emerging water.
It is a strange phenomena, but the colours in a reflection are always stronger than the original ones! Here, they are a most important element in your shot.

There is a small part of this view that gives an impression of summer. Above there are dark and sinister clouds. thier reflections in the water make the lower part of the picture. a very attractive pleasant scene, apart from the clouds above.

    Hello Craig,

You have captured, not just a scene but, a whole lot of cultural differences. It is not apparent what, in west, we take as norm until you see the visual differences. We are unaccustomed to seeing animals roaming freely in the streets, streets are cleaned by mechanical devices and rubbish, for the most part, is deposited in bins.
Your photograph uses the colourful steps effectively, taking us quite naturally from the f/g to the overhanging buildings. The people add the story of life in India and scale.

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Daniel,

I'm with you, climbing steps on ones knees is not something to be recommended!

This is a really fine, symmetrical composition which offers dual access, via the angled staircases, from the f/g to the b/g. Along the way, the details are many and varied, all captured with exact clarity.
The Azujelos tiles are lovely and a characteristic form of decoration in Portugal. I remember being surprised, when I first visited Portugal, that tiles were used externally, whereas in U.K. we would only use such patterned tiles internally.
The church is extremely ornate. You can imagine the pride with which it was designed and the impact that it would have had on humble citizens.

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Mariusz,

You have used the good 'eye' of a photographer, here, adding human interest to the scene and framing her with the architectural details that you had obviously come to capture. The two elements complement each other extremely well.
I love the close-up textures of the archway and the warm colours of the stones.
