    Hello Rob,

It sounds like a perfect meeting: good conversation, good weather and a glass of beer. I'm sure you had a great time!

I like how you have positioned your camera for this shot, so that the statue is proud of all the surrounding spires and finials. It gives a greater sense of importance, whilst not obscuring other interesting details.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Denis,

This is a most engaging shot!
You have used the bridge to great effect, making it frame the boats and their reflections on the blue river, below an equally blue sky.

    Hello dear Carlo,

    What a treat!
The medieval walls look full of character and make an irresistible lead into the scene. They contrast well with the lush, green vegetation and the whole benefits from the good light and the cloud splatted sky.

    Hello Piotr,

This is a glorious view of the lake, the conifers and, of course the snow covered mountains. No wonder you love to photograph this area!
The figure, in the f/g, adds some extra colour as well as creating a good sense of depth.

I always find that people apologise for getting in frame when I am photographing when, in fact, I like them to be there.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Brenda,

We have seen a lot of modern art on TE but I don't think there has been anything quite like this before! You are right, he is quite unnerving! I thought he was heading towards you and your camera, at first!
The group does seem quite relaxed ... now! It's the sort of humour that explodes with relief, after you realise that some terror is not really as bad as you thought.
A very well composed, eye-catching photograph and taken from THE most threatening angle!

    Have a lovely day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Takero,

    Are you their official photographer?

I like how you have used a different focal point from the norm. Your focus is in the midground but still uses the f/g as an effective lead, whilst the b/g adds to the understanding of the setting.
You do well at action shots which many people rarely attempt.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Malgo,

I am always conscious of how much more exciting a holiday is when you are a photographer. There are so many interesting people and scenes all around, that non-photographer will never notice. Also, you have so many reminders to stimulate your memory of the places you visited.

I agree with you, this is the better of the two photographs. It is beautifully balanced and shows a very caring attitude from the 'would-be' photographer.
The man leaning against the wall has a very strong secondary role. With his dark glasses and observant attitude, he fulfills the role of the spy, in this otherwise very gentle shot! Can you feel a story developing?

    Thanks for sharing this,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Daniel,

Your notes and associated photograph reveal an interesting and very individual landscape.
I do like to see how farming affects the land, creating geometric patterns that are not so common in nature itself.
The field of rapeseed makes a fine arrowhead, dissecting the soft greens of the other fields.
Electricity pylons are a common feature and work to create a sense of perpective in this instance.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hi Mansour,
An artistic portrait of a kind you don't see often here in TE. Good focus on the violinist. Excellent use of wide aperture to blur the background. And harmonous colour combination of clothes and the violin.

    Hi Sven-Erich,
What a joy to see such carefully designed advertising paint on a big modern locomotive. The team of Roco has done great job! A good tightly framed job, you could say that this engine is in it's own environment in a station hall.

Here in Finland we have barely started to see some green grass, and you already have yellow fields to show.

    Hello Gyorgy,

I have to agree with you, the photograph is far stronger, with a greater sense of 'mood' without the lady in shot. You did an exceptionally good job of removing her whilst keeping the integrity of the rest of the photograph.
The suitcase next to the man brings up a great sense of a story. There are numerous scenarios, from the mysterious to the romantic! It would make an intriguing front cover for a book!!

    My warm regards,

    Hello Jean,

Lighthouses always make strong, imposing focal points and this one is no exception; in fact, its warm colouration and sea reflection add to its overall impact.
You have used the causeway to very good effect, completing an excellent composition.

    Ciao caro Silvio,

Your slow shutter speed has captured every bit of artificial light and illuminated the scene in such a way that it is like molten lava! It is incredibly beautiful!.
There is enough light to show the bridge, which guides irresistibly between the amber trees and into the heart of the illuminated village.
The deep blue sky reveals the mountain and adds atmosphere to the scene.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ali,

Thank you for the instruction, I'm sure many will be attempting this type of shot with such clear guidance!

It is a shot that is wonderfully clear and reveals what we imagine we see with a naked eye, though it cannot be anything like as good as this!
I like how the reactionary, small droplets are exploding from the large droplet crater. It's a great shot.

    Hello Rob,

There have been numerous posts of 'eyes' but this is a little different from most that we have seen; in your case, you have focused on just three pods. By doing this, you have chosen the best number for composition and placed them in such a way that they suggest a diagonal (though curved!).
I like the inclusion of the framework, with its overlapping lines, creating a network of straight-sided shapes, so different from the open space in the opposing corner.

London can be such a tease, weatherwise!!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Cristina,

Though I have visited Ireland on several occasions, I have yet to set foot in Dublin!
However, you have captured a stunning building for me to enjoy! I think you have chosen the perfect angle to show off its ornate roof finials, its beautiful windows and associated round tower, whilst also, creating an excellent sense of perspective.

    Hello Mariusz,

This is quite a minimalistic shot with just the statue and the sea, well connected; but that doesn't lessen its impact for it is a very strong composition. The singularly strong figure, elevated on high, gazing proudly out to sea, is a force to be reckoned with!
For those unfamiliar with the exploits and achievements of this celebrated man, your notes are more than adequate.

    My warm regards,
