    Hi Josip
This is really striking, the unusual gold color is so unusual, it gives the picture an otherworldly feel. Really nice placement of the statue and the tiny touches of green are great
    Cheers

    Hej Gert,
I'm a bit surprised about the bad weather there. In Western Finland Friday was fine and Saturday just great. Here the view probably would have been pretty similar anyway, because people simply flee away from bigger cities in Midsummer (and drink somewhere else).

    Hi Lisa,
Effect of the light-painting is quite stunning. On the fingrprint it gave translucent impression. I should thy that some day. That gives good appreciation to ancient landmark.
Daylight saving time means that real midnight is around 1:30 over there. Next week I'm heading to real midnight sun region in northern Norway. I hope the sun actually shines there!

    Hi Paul,
To me it is not a winter photo. Just some brown tones give a hint that it is not summer, but on the other hand brown lawn could also be due to heat and draught of summer too.
Beautiful view of old fortifications on a sunny day. That paved path gives nice perspective.

Indeed the colours are as saturated as on traffic lights. Especially against shady and grey stone wall. Thanks for showing, that was new to me.

    Hi Jean,
Lake Garda on the southern edge of the Alps is a region I really should visit some day. Nice to see the lake and steep mountain slopes ant the town that has been built on narrow strip along the shore. I wist there was brighter sunshine on the foreground as now the contrast to the bright sky is quite strong.

    Hola Angel,

I don't think we ever tire of beaches and sea scenes.
I really like how you have added something original by including the the shadows of a building and a tree that we cannot see.
I think a crop of some of the sky would have moved the horizon from the centre and given a more panoramic appearance.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ney,

I really like how you have been able to include the aeroplane's wing in your photograph. It gives an excellent reference point for understanding what is in the lower parts of the scene. It's so interesting to see how the land and the sea are related!
How amazing that clouds are between you and your objective!!

    Bonjour Nicolas,

The bench is waiting patiently for someone to use it, to enjoy the peace and the calm of the tranquil setting.
Though there is no-one on it, it does make a good focal point and directs attention to the jade lake, with its tree reflections.
A very well composed and well saturated photograph.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Krzysztof,

This building looks hard and formidable, not built for comfort but for defence.
Your viewpoint emphasises the its long, low lines with the repeating small small windows.
It's a fine composition, the right angle of the two walls right on the thirds line.
    Lovely colours.

    Hello Lars,

This looks anything but a 17th century harbour.!
It looks very modern in every way!
I'm sure some remnants of the old will be displayed in the Maritime or Harbour Museums for the delight of those who appreciate history!
You chose an excellent time to take this photograph; early morning or early evening always seem to have the best possible light. There is a delightful, soft glow in the sky to give a very 3D effect on the tall buildings.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Malgo,

It's a great photograph on Beta!
It's an immense panorama of the city which looks to be a place existing in contented union with trees and gardens, a very beautiful, calm place.
There isn't much evidence, from this view, of high rise buildings which adds to the charm
The light and the colours are excellent.

    Have a good day,

    Hello John,

You have done a fine job of capturing this 'statue' with excellent details of her whole costume. It wasn't easy as she was standing in quite a dark corner. However, the dark corner works well for your purpose as it makes a very good, contrasting b/g against which to show off the the performer.
She really does look to be floating from this angle!

I have added a w/s for your interest!

    Have a great day,
    Bev :-)

    Good Morning Rob,

I have seen this idea in art galleries before, of using mirrors. What a successful idea! It is like seeing art and changing art at the same moment.
I like your close-up composition, the mirror and the plinth making a pleasing natural frame for the exhibits (animate and inanimate!).

Excellent sharp details on the main statue and a great sense of depth into the b/g.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello dear Carlo,

I applaud you for your careful cropping of the amphitheatre. You have given us exactly the right amount of the whole to give an impression of the steeply rising sides and its distinctive curve. The couple is strongly positioned, creating a good focal point.
It is surprising to see you using b&w but it was a good choice, showing a good tonal range and, incidentally, giving a sense of age!

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

Isn't amazing that houses built so long ago still remain and look very good for their age! Just think how many modern buildings have already outlived their use and been demolished!

This house looks as if it has evolved, with changes and extensions to keep up with trends over the centuries. You have given us some excellent details and used the building effectively as a backstop for the rose garden.

The clouds, to the right, look as if they may be the bearers of the downpour you describe.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Lucas,

That is a remarkable achievement, to run for nearly 150 years without a break!
I just love the type of train, it has the renown 'cowcatcher' on the front of the engine!

You have chosen an excellent viewpoint for this shot to gain a fine linear perspective.
The figures are important for scale and animation. I bet they are excited to be boarding the train!

You couldn't ask for a better sky! It is a lovely cobalt blue with interesting fluffy clouds dispersed across its surface.

    My warm regards,

    Bonjour Christiane,

Thia scenery is both beautiful and dramatic; beautiful from the unusual colours and dramatic by way of the massive, eroded cliffs. You have positioned your camera well, to capture an excellent composition; a strong f/g triangle, a lake which creates a fine guide and a boat for a good focal point.
    Your exposure is spot on!

Besides shading pedestrians from the sunshine, they make a very pleasing photograph. Mary Poppins immediately came to mind as she floated into the air by way of an umbrella!

    Hello Rob,

Were you very lucky to see this painter in action or is it something you encounter regularly? Whatever, this is an amazing study on your part to record the work of this talented artist in such a very artistic way. I love how the artist, her work and the original are so nicely arranged in line and, for once, the focus is in the middle ground.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)
