    Hola Angel,

The shimmering water and cascading fountains make an interesting f/g as well as good leads, with a fine sense of perspective.
Despite the sky having a gorgeous colour, I feel that a little of it could be cropped for a slightly better sense of composition.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Jean,

The wet sand is the perfect medium for gaining such fine reflections of the sand yachts and, also the blue of the sky.
You have chosen a fine viewpoint for a good sense of depth and composition.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Danos,

This is a really beautiful scene where the sunset, with its warm sky colours, adds a romantic mood. The clouds are particularly beautiful.
I really like how the sea is illuminated, between the town and the mountains, helping to create an excellent sense of depth.

    My warm regards,

    Hello Jean,

The country is living up to its name Iceland!
This is a beautifully taken shot, clearly showing the patchwork of ice and icy water, inter-related, with areas of soft snow or reflected sunlight.
The sparse trees add contrasting textures and shapes, whilst the b/g hill creates the depth.

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Bonjour Serge,

This is a very original photograph!
I like how you have given the lights such sharp prominence as a f/g feature and used the moon as the natural lighting feature for distance.

    Hello Harriet,

The light is lovely and picking out the white features particularly well, ensuring that the whole scene is linked and appreciated.
It is a very charming scene, the boats creating a lovely prelude to the warmth of the red roofed houses.

    Hols Manuel,

I have never heard of this Egyptian building in Spain, previously. It does not surprise me that you are drawn to it for it really is a spectacle, especially at sunset!
I love how the light picks out the building, against the night sky and is reinforced by its stunning reflection.
The red sunlight, on the horizon, helps to create a good feeling of depth.

    Hello John,

This is a bit different and, at the same time, so much fun!
Humour just oozes from the cheese seller, even twinkling in his eyes!
Did he have another person in his line of vision, because he looks to be giving eye contact to someone to his right?
It is a beautifully composed shot, the focal figure really strongly placed, with equal attention and sharpness delivered to the cheeses that he is selling. The crop is perfect, nothing distracting or interfering, there is just the seller and his product.

    My warm regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Gert,

This is certainly a much warmer version.
I just love the proud, stance of the men, whilst the boys have that mischievousness, common to most youngsters whatever their b/g.
Those huts are great examples of bush craft!

It would be great to be able to show this photograph to the subjects!

    Hello Ike,

You know that I love history and such ruins are indicative of the skills and life styles of ancient peoples. Your photograph gives us interesting details; it shows us that stones were edged and faced, that the centres were rubble filled and that the arches were strongly built with keystones.
There was an interesting programme on tv, showing how modern craftsmen built arches and thick castle walls, using only the materials and tools available to the original craftsmen. A lot of learning and respect took place!!!

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Ann,

Although your shot does not look like a western town, from the cowboy films, it has that same air of desolation, of windswept abandonment.
I like how you have composed this, so that we have two possible approaches, along the r/h side or under the sign, and it ensures a complete appraisal of the scene.
It is a nice, sharp exposure, with good colours.

Is it a long way away from any other settlement so that it is too remote to develop as a homestead?

    Kind regards,
    Bev :-)

    Hello John,

I had similar problems loading up my notes.
If you have any apostrophes, it will not accept them!

Winter scenes and sunshine have a very special appeal!
I love winter trees and they allow you to show scenes which would not be possible if the trees were in full leaf!
The scene has the lovely calmness, so redolent of the canal side areas of Belgium. The white building makes a very effective focal image, made even more stunning by its mirror-like reflections.
The terracotta roof of the second building is so very effective in drawing the eye into the b/g, a real sense of depth.

    Have a lovely Sunday,
    Bev :-)

    Hello Chris,

I visited a place in France which had washrooms situated near the river and thought, then, how lucky we were to have washing machines! This shot reinforces my feelings! Although, it would be nice to meet up for a chat but ... much better over a cup of tea or a glass of wine!
You have collected some excellent details of the stone structure and, in a curious way, the people posing at the back add colour and a scenario to the photograph.

    Have a good day,
    Bev :-)

    Merha Mesut,

Your notes explain how you have been able to get such a fine, birds-eye view.
The ski slope makes a fine angled line down the frame, whilst the figures, trees and lift help to give a good understanding of the perspective.
Those low, misty clouds in the b/g really give a feeling of the height and the cold conditions.

    Have a good day,

    Hello Stephen,

A photograph full of life and vibrancy.
You have placed the fountain strongly in the frame, for immediate interest and to create that sense of depth.
There is a contrast of older and newer buildings to show the diversity of the area and details of plants which suggest the warmth of the climate.

    Have a lovely Sunday,

The warmth of the sunset colours adds a lot to the immediate appeal of your shot. Then, there is time to appreciate the natural border, created by the bridge and its shimmering shadow, acting like a funnel to the mainly silhouetted b/g.
