Bonjour Juliette,

This is a most pleasing composition in which the line of the edge of the canal sweeps around and draws our eyes well into the picture past the outdoor restaurants, past the bridge and onward to the distant mountain and the clear blue sky above it.

Gorgeous light and colours, perfect exposure and exquisite details and sharpness throughout.

What a fabulous portrait of this little fella - he just looks so cute and, perhaps, just a little apprehensive of this lady approaching him with a big camera!

Wonderful pin-sharp focus on those big dark googly eyes - I can even see your reflection in them - and lovely colours throughout.

A wonderful moment, perfectly captured on camera! Were you able to send a copy of this to his daddy?

In a few years , the pretty little barn will fall in ruins , and the walls of terraces will disapear under the wild vegetation . Agriculture is hard in the mountains ...

A different picture , as you say . And I like it a lot , especially for the colors of the leave , and teh contrast with the BG . The little green branches in the FG are a nice feature of the composition .

You notes explain this photograph so well.
I have to agree, the colours are outstanding but, then, so are the expressions, particularly the central lady! They all show up well against the dark b/g which, for once, was in a photographer's favour.
The back of a head is the only distracting part but, because of the rest of the shot, we can live with it!

Hi Brian,

The mention of Anglo Saxons in Sussex immediately reminded me of the Bernard Cornwell Saxon novels. A great series of books if you like history.

Back to the shot ...I like how you have used the line of crosses and gravestones to lead to the focal building. It is often not possible to capture an entire building but you have included a satisfying section of this church and its surroundings.
Fine sharpness and a sprinkling of mood with the slight topping of snow.

I can imagine what fun you had watching these exploits and happily filming them!
I have seen reflected children before but never seen one where the child is moving and observing its own reflection. This is priceless!

Hello Craig,

There are photographs of cars and PHOTOGRAPHS OF CARS. This is one of the latter. It is an extreme. This car is staring into your eyes with those headlights, like some alien being, daring you to return the gaze! Talk about 'in your face'!
Having said all this, I love it.
A photograph that raises emotion has done a good job!
