    Merhaba Murat Bey,

This photo stokes intense nostalgia in my bones. My father, as Org. Kemal Atalay, was the Commander of the First Army several decades ago, and in fact, it was on his watch that the top floor was restored as Florence Nightingale's Hospital. On a summer visit to Istanbul, I watched his retirement ceremony as a "changing of the guard." Then when he passed away in February 2003, I was there for his funeral and then his interment across the Bosphorus. Your note complements the photo effectively.

    Warm regards,

    Bulent

    Hello Gyorgy,

This is a very good candid shot of the photographer concentrating on his subject. Meanwhile, as photographers ourselves I can't think of anyone who would not feel obligated to see what he is shooting. Of course, it also gives us an opportunity to see what others regard as worthy shooting.

    Warm regards,

    Ciao Luciano,

Your note is a very good addition to the photo. I imagine they used mainly charcoal to draw the petroglyphs, but do you happen to know how old they are?

    Hello Brenda,

Your note raised and answered a number of questions for me. The legendary Gimbel's, I wondered why I hadn't heard of it in years. Now I also know the location of the flying bridge that I had seen before but had forgotten about. It's a wonderful note and complementary photo.

    Warm regards,

    Hi Malgo
i'm glad you added in the link to the photo of the elevator, its good to see what you're talking about.

This would be a great place to take my drone! haha
The photo itself isn't your greatest, but this is one of those TE posts where its about the photo AND the story, together its perfect. For me, this is all 100% new, I've never heard of this elevator before. Good to know and keep it in the back of my mind! thanks for this

    Hi Paul
this is one of those photos which i think most of us, if not all of us, can relate to. when i look at it, its so easy to think back to personal memories of myself flying kites.
that makes this scene enjoyable. we put ourselves in place of the little girl. bright colors, and thanks for the WS photos too. cheers

    Hi Luis
great to see you back on TE again, glad to hear things are as you say back to normal.

this new area in Oslo seems to be attracting alot of tourists and locals, but be quite popular.

placing the subjects in the frame as you did creates height and depth perception, worked out well. and the atmospheric clouds set the mood and tone. nicely composed.
    cheers

    Hi Bev
can you believe a year has gone by already since our meeting!!!

in this perspective, it looks as if you captured the monument in the middle of it falling over, and its about to completely fall to the ground. Its weird how it gives that impression.

i like the downward POV too, awesome.

    Hi Kasia
this is fantastic! haha...something I think we can all relate to some level.

We've all been here and done that, had friends, our spouse or family with us taking photos - and they get so bored very quickly.

this scene captures that perfectly. love the blanket wrapped around the child. Did you offer the mother a copy? or at least show her?

fun shot, puts a smile on my face

    Hello Jorge,
I like the low perspective where the people who just climbed the stairs are seen against the light clouds, where they nicely complement the architectural details of the wall. It's a good combination of human touch and architecture.

    Hello Claude,
A very nice view of the small town. The photo is taken from a good point where the trees give excellent depth along a slightly curving diagonal. There are lots of things to watch and there is a good balance between the most important features, such as the white boat, the castle on the hill and the tower to the right. The hilly, green scenery is most attractive.
    Kind regards,
    Gert

    Hello Christiane,
The statue of the angel balances the palace quite well. She is surrounded by a beautiful part of the garden and is seen against some very attractive dark clouds. The narrow road crates a nice and somewhat curvy lead up to the castle.

    Hello György,
Three photos of people actually using their cameras to take photos of others, not themselves. What a novelty. None of these photos is the greatest you have ever posted here, but they are all nice snaps from the crowds watching the Szalamander, especially this one of the elderly man with at least two cameras and probably several extra lenses. How I hate the memories of the days when I carried a bag like that with all my equipment. ;-)
    Best wishes,
    Gert

now thats a pretty cool looking Well, it has a Gothic type of look and feel to it.

really like the large wheel and the brick and all the wood grains. and its neat to see how the city has grown all around it. it seems so out of place - but it makes for an excellent photo. lovely lighting and sharpness. cheers

this is one of those shots that I can see myself taking.
I look for these all the time.

its been a good little series of photos from this building.
