Sunburst by Nina (4910)

WOW! What a dramatic picture! The warm colors and the rays of sun really work well together. The trees on the right side seem to bend in (almost like it's barrel distortion, but I don't think so). Anyway, they bend in in such a way that it accents the sunburst, as if the sun is pushing the trees away. Excellent shot! What camera did you use for this? That's some dynamic range you have there! I don't think my Coolpix 990 could ever take a picture like that!

I have a 990 myself and one thing that drives me crazy about it is the awful barrel distortion. This is a very interesting way of working around that problem! I would appreciate an even more dramatic angle on the tower, and maybe an even lower perspective to emphasize the size of the tower! Shoot from the hip, man!!

Amazing colors in this photo!! The feeling is right, but there's something I don't like about the composition and I can't put my finger on it. I think it's a combination of the mass of flowers on the right and the way the main flower is very low in the frame. I really have no idea how to crop it though, to make the composition stronger. Maybe someone else has some insight? Nice picture from a great camera!

Bravo!! I was just about to agree 100% with everything Sam said about your picture, but then I studied the composition some more. The "davis" tombstone appears to be just about perfectly vertical as do the trees in the backround. This *really* enhances the mood for me--a world slightly off it's axis yet not at the same time. Do you have more photoshop creations?
