Hello Chris
Certainly some dramatic conditions here, and you've caught a very impressive wave. However, the contrast is very flat, giving the white spray a dull appearance, and the overall yellow colour cast seems a bit odd. Hope you don't mind a WS to see an alternative.

Hello Diane
It never fails to surprise me how easy it is in a big city to lose the crowds. Even when we were in Venice during Carnevale, there were large areas empty of people. And the same has been true in Paris, Sydney, Prague, and so on. You've found a lovely unfrequented byway, but importantly brought to life by the solitary dark figure on the left. Good work.

Hello Juan
Out of your more familiar abstract modern architecture mode, but this is a lovely scene, with warm tones, and what appears to be a long lens compressing the perspecitve and piling the houses against each other.

Hello Aleksander
I agree with you: the dull light and misty conditions have given you great atmosphere, much more than the more conventional pictorial sunny weather. I love the patterns of tree trunks and the fact that you've filled the frame with them.

Hello Subhendu
You're my posting neighbour today, and we've both chosen monochrome portraits! I suppose that must mean neither of us is searching for points! This is a lovely, intimate image. Her expression suggests that she's taking modelling very seriously: it's clearly quite a stressful business! Beautifully composed for what must have been a grab shot.

Hello John
Beautiful: I assume, judging by the clouds, quite a long exposure. For some reason your EXIF data doesn't seem to include that information. Lovely range of colours from hot to cool across the frame. Is it really necesary to have such intrusive copyright info?

Hello Andrew
The thumbnail made me think this was somewhere in Italy. The full frame makes it clear that it's too clean and pristine to be the dirty Old World! Lovely perspective, and I like the slight downward tilt to make the most of those beautiful tiles.

Hello Claude
Seven hours in the rain. I think I'd have found a hostelry! Of course the figure in this image (sheltering from the rain?) is vital to the composition and is place in the strong thirds position, balanced by the fine old barn.

Hello Juan
Gaudi is usually so gaudy! So it's quite a change to see his buildings stripped of their colour and reduced to line, form, structure, pattern, texture. Interesting post.
