Hi Jon!
Have you moved to a maze?
What a lot of wood in your shot! The great thing about wood is if you think you are running out of it you can just grow some more! Great isn't it nature, I love it.
I think the shot works. The roof of the shed draws the eye and shouts for attention, I would have referred it to be more moss coloured. May be you could wait another few years. Just a suggestion.....
Keep taking the wood shots before it runs out...

Another great image and one taken from a surprising angle, which shows the size and context of the cathedral really well. Your images of Brazil keep surprising me and are not at all like the steroetypical travel shots most of are happy with.

Hi Ehsan, I would have to agree with the general sentiments above about the subject you have chosen. But at least you have taken a good photo of the subject. I like the angle you have chosen and it was certianly a good idea to have the car out of direct light.
Photographing ordinary things out of context can shock people into seeing them in a new light or take notice of them and is an old idea in the world of art, however, there does not appear to be anything intrinsic about this car that is worthy of attention.
I am visiting Dubai over the new year. If you have any pictures of outstanding architecture, landscape or daily life in Dubai or any images that may challange people's preconceptions of the UAE they would be very appreciated.

The picture has great impact. I think taking the picture at night has heightened the impact as the lighting hilights the Temple.
Fantastic notes too. I have learnt something interesting today aboute Vienne, France, French thinking, Roman History...

Nice angle, it shows the car to best affect. The shot looks like it was taken early morning - the light reflection on the side is rather bleached out, which is not surprising. However, the exposure has taken away the lovely colour of the car, though it shows it is nice and reflective ! I would have parked the car so that street lights and road signs were not directly behind it.
The old car is left hand drive, which is unusual in Pakistan, but not surprising as it is American. Some notes as to its provenance would have been nice.

Very nice composition. However, given the contrast between the sky and the bridges, the sky has been washed out. I would have been temptd to frame out the bottom 3rd of the image and make it a more abstract shot. That way the dark underpass would have been removed and the sky may not have been so over exposed.
I enjoyed your notes. Your parent's picture certainly left a big mark on you.

Nice eye-level shot, Fredrik. It would certainly help others identify the poisonous Amanita muscaria mushroom, which comes out at this time of year.
This is not a criticism of this shot but it would be interesting to see the wider context of where the mushroom was growing. E.g. it often grows on the roots of Silver birch, conferous trees
Note Amanita muscaria is otherwise known as 'Fly Agaric' in English. Aminata Phalloides is known as the Death Cap.

Well composed image and thank you for taking the time to explain the nature of the picture. It made me stop and think.
I like the image in colour as it allows you to see the muted colour palette that was used at the time and so is a better documentary record.

Great picture. These pretentious tudor style chimneys on such modest houses are quite an arresting site. I was a student in Guildford and they had the same affect on me when I first came a cross them. The history of the buildings would be interesting to know. The Albury estate is owned by the Duke of Northumberland, I think, so I wonder if these properties have any links to grander days.
