What a view! It must have been quite a hike to get there.
I like that you included the hiker. He sure seems to be drinking in the scenery.
I'd love to see a wide angle panorama from this viewpoint.

The size of the roots and the boulders can only be truly appreciated because of your inclusion of the 2 human figures as scale.
There's lots of things I like about this image, but I think the splash of red in her jersey really ties the whole thing together with your title. Well done!

This is a beautiful shot. I love the marks of the skis on the snow, almost like we see the little creatures make at the beach. How insignificant the human marks are against this backdrop! The very blue sky and rising clouds does give this an ominous feeling of impending danger. Well done!

Very good macro shot, Mark. Yes, she is a perfect beauty!
I find that your pictures have a lot of jpeg artefacts, maybe they are a bit overcompressed. What are you using for your post processing? If it is something I'm familiar with, I might be able to give you some pointers.

Welcome to TE, Mark. You'll see that you'll learn a lot from the friendly people here.
What I like most about this shot is the slightly blue tint to the light, making everything seems even colder than what it probably was.
That light on the right is quite distracting, I tried a workshop for you.

Paul, I really like this series of yours showing both the old and new, progress and decline. It is so representative of our times. Thank you for sharing. It would be nice to see the shot from this point once the development is done.

Bloemfontein has a waterfront? You see, here at TE we don't only learn about the rest of the world, but of our own country too. *G*
This is a very nice dusk shot, with warm colours, good water reflections and a pretty sky. Well done!
Now that we have three pictures of waterfronts here in SA, I'm going to start a group theme, hopefully it will grow.

I could get no idea what these were just by looking at the thumbnail. Would never have guessed hot-air balloons!

This is an excellent capture. It really does look as if it is playing hide-and-seek with you. Well done!

Beautiful, Judy. It is so wonderful to see the water and the green vegetation again, isn't it? It really has been a "dry white summer" to paraphrase AP Brink, and the recent rain has been most welcome.
