he subrhajit ...this one deserves to be on holik as a series....i don't care about the lack of comments ...but this is just so good...i recently saw a swapan nayak picture in outlook traveller guide book where there was a similar shot with almost similar framing and use of the saree...take care..you are doing great...

ok manish boy....you're here in for some fun...welcome...
the photograph has been nicely composed, the low pov with an averagely dramatic sky makes for a good shot....i would suggest a few things ...nothing to do with the composition...its the contrast range..the shot looks flat..perhaps it has to do with the way the whites and pure blacks of a b&w photograph which hasn't blossomed as it should have in you picture.. i am trying a workshop to see if anything can be done...long time haven't tried a workshop on te..hehe! :)

Marvelous simply marvelous Prantik..thanks to a reference I checked in and it IS truly great...you r Kolkata shot got me rolling...the earlier Paris shot is equally good..but this one just makes your eyes roll over its content over and over again...the excellent use of light and the mood it evokes, the gestures captured, simply terrific work ....

my friends an insomniac, of late he's gotten into writing poetry in the night when everyone else is asleep...makes me read them when we get time to meet up...some lines hit hard...although i never took his insomnia quite seriously...this photograph just reminds me of him!
i mean WOW! ...amazing work Sohrab...

this is good work sayan, i mean it...the fact that you have provided a view of the ghat from the riverside makes this a little different and fresh..also the lady in the orange saree acts as good point of interest...though the highlights could have been lest contrasty...like burn the area near the right hand top corner of the photograph and get more detail out if possible...[+]

Okay I have been unable to comment on your picture s of late. Don't know why, haven't been able to find something valuable to add, perhaps....hmmm... I like this composition here...its always a temptation to shoot when reflections of this kind are available..and you have done a fine job framing it this way and timing it almost at the right moment...one tiny tinge of regret remains for me...its the lady seen walking on the left hand side of the frame..had you clicked the shutter a few second s earlier ..it would've been nicer..imho(as they put it!)..but the juxtaposition is commendable...

Today I went for a photo exhibition on landscapes by Soumitra Dutta, all his photographs for the exhibition was selected by Rai...of all the photographs I particularly liked two which were taken during the monsoon season...there's something in the air when it hits...the landscape changes dramatically....this one is pristine....
