Still. Harsh. Severe. But solid.
That is what I think.
It is a very horizontal subject matter isn't it.
The sky doesn't do much for me, but the water in the front does add some texture and random splash of red and blue give it something to contrast the black.
Overall it works. 2 points.

A little predictable, but still wonderful.
The soldier boy is conscripted no doubt and I bet he'd rather be sleeping! Fantastic uniform though. The bus in the background is a bit hit and miss.
I do enjoy the distortion effect of chairman Mao. It works.

Every time I fly from Australia to Asia (eg. Singapore or somewhere like that) we always fly over Broome and see very unusual landscapes and seascapes.
It is a difficult moment to capture as you have to pay attention out the window for a long time.
Plus it is such a vast and uninhabited area, so it is high on the difficulty scale. Well done.

Welcome to TE. I think if we saw more of the man it would give it more emphasis. I like the whiteness of the water, but the other colors are very dark with the top left and top right being different shades - I am always wary about standing to the *side* of the sun, but in your case I'd probably be more worried about dropping the camera in the sea!
