once i had a personal TE theme, titled "the power of black", where i was collecting photos which enjoyed great use of dark areas. this one would definitely belong in there. very artistic and creative result, not only for the popular idea of "looking up" but also for the use of deep black, covering almost a full bottom diagonal. very well done to my liking.

indeed, difficult to guess from the thumbnail. very good eye to recognize the rhythm over there, and a photographic idea very well realized. i like the repetition of crimson velvets, and your tight and creative cadrage a lot.

i love (and miss) the use of intendedly subdued color palettes on TE. this is a very nice photo with vintage feel, again thanks to your delightful desaturation. still the correct use of white balance is evident, when you observe the clarity of white in the photo.

very well balanced and strong composition with impressive graphical elements and plays of light and shade. the use of running silhouettes is splendid. i also like the presence of the brick bridge and the church spire, which gives you a subtle hint that we are on TE :)

how green was my valley... splendid high pov which allows you to grab the whole breathtaking view towards the hazy horizon. one could live there happily for a life long, or this is what your photo makes me feel so.

hello john dede :) you usually have the blue sky in your photos, this is one of the rare occasions where you exclude it and i like it so much. now there is more space for the beautiful flemish architecture. great high vantage point, and the tiny people increase the charm of it.
