What strikes me here is that what is probably a routine procedure looks like an ordeal for this baby. The look on his (?) face, especially with the light directly on him, the close focus, and all of the hands right around him give the shot an urgency that I don't think would be there if we saw more of the mom and the doctor. I'm also struck by the contrast among the three sets of hands -- the tiny baby hand, the doctor's smooth hands, and the mom's rough one.

Great shot. Nice colors, nice light. Nice mix of the graphics and the people. Nobody seems to be bothered by you, or by anyone else for that matter.

Nice shot, Maciek. I particularly like the contrast between the two smiling boys and the slightly suspicious looking one in the background. Great colors. I hope you're loving Tanzania as much as I did.

Great shot. The tight crop really emphasizes the tightness of the situation, and the colors are superb. I love the expression on his face -- a great combination of embarrassed and amused.

Just fabulous, Luko. It so captures the feeling of Hoi An. Of course, the tones and the angle make the shot.

This shot is perfect - the colors, the light, the composition, the sharpness - everything. I love the hint of a smile that you can barely make out on the woman on the right -- you can practically hear the juicy gossip that she's getting from her friend.

What a quintessentially African scene! The tree, the kids, the tire, the dusty earth, and most of all, the smiles. Very nice!

Although I wish there was just a bit more light on her face, I love the muted tones and soft light on this one. Looks like there is almost a chill in the air that will burn off just as soon as the sun comes up.

Maybe it's just me and my fear of suburbia, but I find this shot very creepy . . . like the opening shot for a movie trailer where the guy in the shadow is about to axe murder the people in this house or at snatch one of their kids or plant a bug in their house or something along those lines. Anyway, I like the juxtoposition of the ominous shadow with the very cheery yellow house, the tree and the picket fence.

I'm not crazy, though, about the stairs on the right hand side, and I think I'd like the whole thing to be just a bit brighter. But all in all, it's a simple shot that (at least in my mind) has the possibilities for a lot of stories.
