Hi Todd: this picture is just amazing. The lightning effect gives a 3D dimension that pops out the castle from the background. Is this natural light or was a Photoshop manipulation? In both cases the result is excellent.
For what concerns saving JPG files, this is important, as you say. I usually have three folders were I keep my projects: the first contains original images (both in JPG or better RAW formats). The second contains .PSD format (the full Photoshop format, that preserves layers etc..) and the third with the final JPG pictures for viewing.
Sometimes I even keep a forth folder, with a slideshow and music for viewing on the web). The amount of space on disk required for this workflow is huge, but I can always transfer the originals on a DVD for archival and free some space on disk.

Speechless, totally speechless: the prowess demonstrated by this picture is beyond me.
How did you manage to take a picture against the sun (is it the sun or what?) and still have the foreground so bright? This is clearly not the effect of flash, nor it appears a Photoshop retouch
(if it is you're a master).
Bravo.

Very good picture: the quality of the sepia tone is excellent, even though a little overexposed to the left. The use of flash really does the difference (this is a detail I sometimes forget to use when I shoot).
I've just returned from a trip to Mali and your picture really captures the atmosphere I felt along the Niger.
(Might even be that the pinasse in the picture is the same as the one we had...)

Excellent picture! You can really feel the cold oozing out...
I'm in Chicago, and in December we had really cold weather (not that much as you felt), and I was worried about my camera too. Nothing happend, though.
Why is the water not completely frozen (is this salt water or the Neva has not yet mixed with sea?)

This picture is something I've been dreaming of capturing with my camera but was unable to obtain sofar.
Where did you take this picture? How long was your exposure?
Very good job!
(Some explanation in the Photographer's note would really add up to your picture)

Nice photo, magic place. I would realign the horizon though, since the picture is tilted and conveys the impression of a snapshot taken in a hurry.
I've been to Lake Moraine almost 30 years ago, but I still remember it as a jewel!
