yes, I am envious of the youth too :)
Oh what i'd give to be 18 again :)
love the bright whites, it makes the scene stand out that much more. Fun expressions caught at the perfect moment.
Looking forward to the Fall season :)
The Volcanic Rocks of Erquy by Royaldevon (26883)

Erquy? what type of name is that? very strange!
and when i think about Volcanic rock, I certainly don't think of France right away either - but obviously its in many places around the world.
I like that you added in the little pieces of the town in the bg too, just to make it easier to relate to.
lots of jagged rock here, nice shot, something very different and unexpected.

Always enjoy your shots from Denmark.
this one is no different.
whats not to like about it...large puffy clouds to fill out the frame, warm light despite the white and blue colors, charming boats all around and excellent exposure.

this one is all about the FG presence, but the Bg fills up the frame nicely too.
looks like the lighting was difficult to control in the upper portions, but you did a great job with it.
love the smooth silky look in the lower area, especially the water as it looks like glass.
well done all around
Niagara Falls Skyline by alvaraalto (5939)
macjake (53090) 2014-09-23 12:55
you know what this looks like? looks like you placed a see through curtain down in front of your camera lens :)
i have to say, its a pretty cool and unique take on the much photographed Niagara Falls.
for obvious reasons, the people are very very important to size scale. If you took this at night without people, it may not have the same impact.
The cloud ... by Giustiniani (2999)
macjake (53090) 2014-09-23 12:49
haha..yes, I love clouds!
clouds make or break a photo, and its easy to see that the clouds MAKE this photo.
a great visual impact.
the landscape below is now the secondary subject in my opinion.
excellent wide angle vertical compo
Bye Bye Summer by lousat (72937)
macjake (53090) 2014-09-23 12:46
yes, you've supplied us with many fine summer shots of warmth...now you have to prepare yourself for the winter!
I like the way the photo climbs taller and taller.
and I have to say that the exposure level is spot on perfect, wouldn't want to change anything to the photo.
the lower fg is sweet too, makes me want to sit down there and just enjoy the view!
The Roof of the Continent by photoray (10557)
macjake (53090) 2014-09-23 12:42
I was trying to guess where this photo was taken, i didn't at all think it was Alaska!
I was thinking somewhere in the northern continental states like Montana or something like that...guess I was wrong!
Looks extremely barren and lonely up here, you could certainly be in alot of trouble if you find yourself in trouble...if you know what i mean.
beautiful landscape shot, makes me want to go hiking.
Night on the Red Square by emka (73925)
macjake (53090) 2014-09-23 12:38
who could resist a place like this!
I'm sure this is high up on alot of peoples travel list, mine too.
so much intrigue and mystery when it comes to Russia, Moscow and Red Square - alot of history here too.
looks like a hard place to compose, sometimes Bigger isn't always Better!
so even late at night there's lots of people walking about, is there lots of security here??
nice to see the square from this pov, really like it
