Jon, A good shot. I personally would crop away part of the bottom to leave out the light spot at the bottom-righthand corner. This light area distracts from the focal point of this shot which is where the rays came from behind the clouds.
Interesting effect we see here; the rays of the sun seem dark iso light. I assume it is the shadow that we see.

Marty, I like your angle of the Opera House. Sharpness and DOF are OK. Personally I find the roof in the bottom-left corner disturbing. It takes away the focus fromthe diagonal line of the roof. Maybe you can polish it away.
Nevertheless, I like your shot.

Dennis, Nice silhouettes against the background sky with beautiful colors. I have been on Bali but never was aware of the desert area you talk about. If I ever get there again I will certainly visit it.
I think you were right to crop away the excessive shadows at the bottom.
