I think what you are seeing is the ejected case. I find it hard to believe that the hand gun has completly cycled. The spent case would need to be ejected and a new round loaded while the bullet is only 12 inches from the barrel.

However I'm sure you took several images and can compare this one to the others. Let me know if you think my observations have any merit.

Very nice colors. I love these kinds of images. You might try to crop the bottom of the picture to bring the action of the water towards the center of the image.

Nice sharp image. I now own a Digital Rebel (6MP) and some of the best pictures i've taken are with my old 2MP Olympus. Try cropping the bottom of this image and see how you like it.

Nice image of the smokies. I've tried to capture images like this but I always seem to be standing in the smoke. You might try croping the image on both the top and bottom turning it into a panorama

Beautiful

The image is very sharp. I am struggling to get my Rebel to produce sharp images. Are you using the default parameter seting on your Rebel or would you give credit to the Sigma lens?
