A wonderful shot of a Clearwing Butterfly. There are many species throughout the world. My guess is that it may be from Central or South America,
perhaps Greta andromica (Salvin).

It's hard to tell without really looking at the entire body. But, there are many species of clearwing butterflies and moths.

Great job of using hyperfocal focus.

I keep looking around for Mary Poppins, Dick Van Dyke and the rest of that motley penguin dance troupe. A great shot with a surreal background. That's what I alway remember about New Zealand. Excellent job.

Very nice use of light and shadow. That is what the word photography means, photo - light; and graphy - writing or painting.

Photography - Painting with light.

You've capture an unusual scene just perfectly. Even having the dog at the edge of the frame still forces the eye toward the center, the cat like shadow.

Very nice shot. The mood and lighting are very much a winter scene. Being from Colorado, I find winter to be a great time to photography, especially in cities.
