Great capture! I love the intensity in his face and how you can draw a line from his eyes to the ball. You can tell there is only one thought in his mind! Wonderful colors and sharpness, esp. considering that you said it was an overcast day!

Wonderful photo! I love how you can almost draw a line of light from the daises, across the water and island, and up to the sky. Great richness of color and details/texture in the picture. I also really like the angle you took it at.

Great shot and wonderful background information. My only suggestion or personal preference is that the b/w seems to make the photo 1 dimensional. I think that color would have been a better medium to capture the different levels of structures, depths, and shadows in the alleyways and houses. Thanks for posting and for the detailed info on the picture.

Zsuzsa,
Great shot. I love the comical tilt of the goat's head as he looks at you as if to say, "Can I be any more different?". I think choosing to use B/W medium was an excellent chose as it only emphasizes the theme of the goats. I have hiked in these very mountains while living in Urumqi last year and know how common this scene is, yet I never tire of it's simplicity and beauty. Michelle

Wonderful shot! This photo holds a thousand stories. I love the richness of the colors and the texture from the lines in the shoes, dirt, and on her feet. I like the simplity of composition. Thanks for adding it to TE!

I LOVE this shot! Trees hold so much life and history. This particular tree looks like she would have quite the story to tell. The longer I look at this photo the more the branches seem to look like veins. The stark contrast of the lines of the branches to the fog is amazing. Great picture!!

I like the composition of this picture, the perspective from which you took it, and the contrast of bright green life and dark earth. The details on the tips of the new plants is wonderful. My only suggestion is that because of the way the picture is focused my eyes went straight to the small pile of dark earth in the center. I wish more of the plants were in better focus. GREAT first photo on TE!! Welcome!

I like the subject of the photo and the comparison of what is real and how the artist sees it. My only suggestion is that the buildings on either side are distracting and take away from the focal point. Maybe by cropping tighter so that only the artist and his subject are showing it would help focus the viewers attention.

Great capture!! I like how you composed it looking straight down into its mouth. And that is definitly a BIG mouth. I've heard that with the amount of force per square inch that a hippo's jaw is capable of that it can crush a person's leg! Ouch.

Great shot! I like the composition and the subject of the photo. The lighting seems to give it a softness compared to the wear and tear on the building. My only suggestion is that it seems to be a tiny bit underexposed at the top of the picture, but that might have been unable to be helped.
