Colors are beautiful (sunset time - very rich and soft light)... but too bad you took her from the side/back: her beauty is somewhat hidden.

Great to hear from you, and to see your Laos shots (have not started to post mine yet). Like this picture: the colors are very rich and the exposure perfect (the kids come out just dark enough). I would have cropped more (I like what Thong did) to eliminate the boat on the left and the one on the right: this would focus attention on the kids and the sunset (maybe a vertical crop would even work here, with the kids nicely on the bottom left and the sun/sky taking most of the picture frame).

I am off to China tomorrow... will post some Laos pix when I return.

I guess you won't be able to take this sunrise away from your memories. Nice picture, well composed (like where you put the sun and the horizon line) and well exposed.

Beautiful composition... the patterns of grey stones seem to go to infinity, and the person in red seems so small in such a dangerous place.

Greetings Phil. I like how you captured the natural, smiley look on his face and the combination of colors. Only suggestion: if you can, use a more shallow DOF to blur the background (e.g. f4 in that case).

Amazing that you could be thinking about pictures at such a time... I guess the light was difficult to work with, but you might have had better success with your composition by putting your camera lower and closer to the guns (so that they would have appeared higher against the sky).
