it seems to me, this photo should have the title "The Dreamer" because this monkey has the look of a dreamer dreaming of something very pleasant :)
Well... perhaps, why not? Monkeys are like we, humans, - they have emotions, feelings... and maybe even sort of some 'thoughts'?..
excellent DOF and composition :)

this is the kind of photos which are always exceptionally interesting for me!
First of all, because you capture the local atmosphere; second, you create an excellent composition in which we see loads of details each of which can tell us a story. I think this is the type of photos which should be accompanied by a detailed long story of the traveller :)
I'd love to see more of such photos of yours here... or maybe on FB!
PS. you are right: Africa has (and shows) almost everything... but not for "just anyone"!

cute cubs! :) they look almost like pets... but I'd rather watch them from afar and shoot photos!
excellent shot. You were lucky to be so close to them.
I'd love to go to a photo-safari in Africa, but... as we have already discussed, it is not possible for me... at least so far. So let's enjoy your photos instead! :)

I really like this photo! it's a beautiful but very sad portrait, and I like it that you converted it into B&W picture - this helps us see the essence of the scene better.
Your note reminded me of a similar case when I was in Strasbourg.
It was +35C in the shade, and I was in the centre of the city... and then I saw a lady - a street artist. I still can't understand how she managed to wear her heavy costume and, besides, that golden paint on her face! but I guess such was her way of making a living.. perhaps it was the best and only job she could have. She looked sad, too.

what a nice view :) I like these "stripes" of shadows and sunlit hills: they create a good light mood :) That paraplane in the distance is a little but very nice addition to the image!
my best wishes to you from Stockholm,

excellent vertical composition; I like the way you created a very good balance of all these details by choosing the - seemingly - only correct POV with the equestrian statue standing out clearly against the nice blue sky :)

that's a beautiful view! it's interesting that the triangular roofs of the houses next to the cathedral somehow match (by shape) the shape of its details.
very nice natural colours and good light management!
